  1. Great Tones Spikey! I use the HX Effects and Iridium too. I just haven't found a great overdrive in the HX Effects. What are you using?
  2. I think the issue is with this ribbon connector. When I wiggled it, the LEDs came back to normal but sadly, don't stay that way. I cleaned the connector and ports but didn't seem to help. Can't seem to find this part on Full Compass. Any ideas?
  3. Very strange thing happening here. The top row of footswitches on my HX EFFECTS seem to have an issue with the LEDs. Some colors are no longer available. They will only display greens and blues and none of the other colors. I've tried to address in HX Edit and I've reset to factory defaults several times, and it's only the top 3 footswitches. Anyone ever see this problem?
  4. Not sure if this was ever a topic but thought I'd throw it out anyway. What would your dream Helix look like? Personally, I've found that the Helix Floor to be a bit too large for my needs as I don't use a volume/expression pedal much and when I do, I have it on the left side of the board, not the right. I think it would be amazing if the next Helix product was modular, perhaps featuring a main unit with the processing, display, pots etc., that you can add to. Increasing or decreasing size, amount of footswitches and additional expression pedals/external switches. . I just mocked up my dream Helix using a photo of the Helix rack control. Smaller form factor with all the power of the Helix Floor. What's your dream Helix?
  5. Very late to the convo here. Just used the Legendary Drive block with a York Audio Greenback IR in my HX effects and it sounded great to me. The Legendary Drive has 3-band EQ, drive and presence and as it's modeled after the Carvin VLD-1 (a tube preamp pedal), it's basically a pre-amp block in itself. Add a good IR and BOOM. You have an amp and one that sounds pretty damn good IMO. Drive pedals are just basically pre-amps anyway so if you use with a decent quality IR, you can absolutely have an amp tone. Something that is passable at least. I'm probably not as tonally picky as some so would love someone else to try this and let me know their thoughts.
  6. I have a pedalboard that I use for shows made up of all individual pedals that I leave in my rehearsal space and I really wanted an all-in-one solution (that is not as pricey as the Helix) for recording at home. I bought the Pod GO to replace my HX stomp because there are 6 programmable footswitches instead of 3 but it's a bit misleading because although you get 6 effect blocks, every preset you make will come with an EQ pedal and an FX loop block and YOU CANNOT DELETE THEM or swap them for other effects. In addition they are auto-assigned to two footswitches. The wah and volume makes sense but I feel like EQ and an FX loop would be two of the last blocks I would need and the first ones I would sacrifice to run other blocks. An EQ is nice to have in the chain but do I need a footswitch for it? No, I would just leave it on. I like to use a compressor and reverb as well but again, things that I leave on and don't need a switch for. With the Pod Go, if it's in the chain, you HAVE to assign it to a switch. The other block they force you to have is the FX loop. This is nice if you want to expand the board with other pedals, but I would much rather have an editable block with the OPTION of an FX loop but I don't want to be forced to have it. How many people that are using the Pod GO with the intention of adding pedals anyway? It feels like it's supposed to be an all-in-one device. It does come with an EXP input where you could connect a third party footswitch to control more blocks but since they only give you 4 editable blocks (5, if you count the unremovable EQ), there's noting to control! I guess if you use snapshots this could be helpful but I just like to use stomp mode. Just wanted a VOX AC30 tone with 6 effects of my choosing. Nope. Perhaps they will add more blocks in an update but at this price point, I doubt it's possible. I do really like the size and the large display with a simplified interface and sounds just as good as my HX stomp. I guess what I'm looking for is something between the HX Stomp and the Helix LT. I've been using Line 6 gear for 20 years and I was so excited to get this as I thought it would be my all-in-one recording solution but I'll just stick with my HX Stomp and build a small board with some additional pedals. Maybe I just have to eat it and get a Helix. If I'm totally way off here or someone has any ideas, I would love the feedback. Cheers.
