  1. And yea.. Def leopards live rig is driven by AxeFx if I remember correctly..
  2. thanks guys!!! Using the info in this post I figured out how to make it sound how I wanted.. SOOOO stoked!.. Fun Fun.. It was so easy to do it that I almost feel stupid.. but thanks guys for spending the time to help out a fellow player :)
  3. I really like this tone: Their tone has this highly digital and almost unnatural guitar tone. Is it highly compressed? Look at 39:48... Been trying to get this sound but can't seem to figure it out.. this is also the tone: If you guys could point me in the right direction that would be AWESOME! thx
  4. Sorry for my ignorance... Snapshots? You can assign a footswitch to "change snapshot"?
  5. I have 4 similar effects that I want to assign to a single Footswitch so I can cycle through them (only one on at a time)... Is this possible?
  6. So what did u discover? Results?
  7. That wasnt my issue. I ended up selling the fire hawk and buying a kemper.
  8. i ended up selling my firehawk and bought a POD HD500X and i am far happier... sounds great and no longer have bluetooth issues since i can use the Mac Editor..
  9. What issues exactly does it have?
  10. ok... so to get the best sound you need a good output device... what would you suggest for a small living room for practicing and recording? Studio speakers? Small PA? Nice Computer speakers?
  11. if the problem is bluetooth.. thats kinda a cop out isn't it? A blames B, B blames A... in the end, line 6 chose to use bluetooth... :) just sayin :) It has a USB port... use it... problem solved :) And yes i CAN say this cause i am a programmer... it's a lot of work... but unless the hardware won't handle it, it's doable :)
  12. ok... so what about the sound? is the helix really superior in sound? i mean if you rated them both on a scale of 1-10 where would they match up?
  13. i guess where line 6 messed up is that they made bluetooth the "main" connection protocol.. if there was a cord that connected it and i had the "option" of bluetooth, then sure.. but if your having bluetooth issues for whatever reason... your up lollipop creek... no paddle..
  14. i feel sheepish... mcbeddall, sorry man... i totally read your post wrong.. i feel like a d$%^ .. i did some digging using your info as a jump off post and i found this... http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects-controllers/firehawk/different-firehawk-volume-controls-r736 buuuuttt... it does not tell you how to get to the "channel volume" from the app... can you? i see the volume of various app blocks but they effect tone and i cannot find the "channel volume" in the app anywhere.. I hope i did not ruin your willingness to help :)
  15. Wait.. i think might have misread your answer.. so how do i change that pink setting in the app (so i can save the tone to the cloud)? And your saying that setting will not effect the sound of the tone, just the volume?
  16. No... I waste on average 30 minutes to an hour a week trying to get the app to recognize/sync/acknowledge the existence of my fire hawk.. even though my iPhone says it's connected and plays music to it... but the app does not see it... had the same issue with amplifi products... So until that works more reliably... I say it is not working as advertised. I'd rather have a wired usb connection that worked 99% of the time then a wireless that worked 60% of the time.. Fix that and i'll be a happy camper..
  17. I am fairly happy with the firehawk. Couple things that really bother me about fire hawk i wonder are solved by the helix: 1) with Firehawk there seems to be no way to volume match the patches/tones. I wind up with on tone that is perfect but loud, and another that is also perfect (for a different purpose) and is quite.. so when i switch i either blow my ears out or can't hear it... and fiddling with the volume knob for every tone/song is just annoying... So with the helix, can you put 2 volumes on a tone? one on the front of the signal chain, and one at the very end? So the first can be connected to the pedal, and the final one is used to volume match wth the other tones? If so, it will solve my problem with the firehawk.. 2) Bluetooth connectivity on the fire hawk (and even the amplifi) is just a royal pain... I'd rather have a wired connection that "just works"... I hate having to spend 30+ minutes a week trying to get my iPhone app to see the fire hawk (that iPhone shows is connected).. It's buggy and Line 6 seems to have no solution.. so, even though it was a cool idea, if it doesn't work well, it's a bad idea..
  18. I currently have a fire hawk and love it.. BUT i would like better sound. I also hate the bluetooth connectivity issue i fight with every day when i practice... Doesn't the helix have a desktop app that does the same thing as the iPhone app for the firehawk? If so is there screen shots or other info on this software anywhere? I practice right in front of my studio computer anyway so having a reliable directly wire connected app would make me pull the trigger on the helix... Also, any other gotchas or improvements over the firehawk that i can expect? Any pro/cons comparison of fire hawk vs helix that isn't marketing hype?
  19. i mean what if you had to switch patches mid song? you gonna bend over and adjust the volume? I don't gig but seems like a needed feature.. Just don't want to give my wife a freakin heart attack when i forget that one patch is literally 3 times louder than another...
  20. Dude, you need to read my post... lol
  21. i realize i can turn the volume down... but i want to be able to switch tones WITHOUT having to adjust the volume.. and the regular volume o the patch effects the volume of the guitar input (so it effects the tone sound)... i just want a way to equalize the volume of thee patches..
  22. Is it possible to equalize the volume across tones? IS there a setting where we can set the volume of a tone that WILL NOT effect the tone itself? Really bad when one tone is twice as loud as another..
