  1. Does anyone know of any deals for Powercab?
  2. I have 112, 212, and 412 guitar cabs. What I don't have is a power amp. But, I'm trying to slim down my gigging/rehearsal rig down to simply the Helix and speakers of some type. All that being said, I'll never fully part with my amps and cabs.
  3. It's out. I think I'm going to return it and get a Powercab. I didn't want to ha e to justify the cost of a Powercab. I'm still having a hard time justifying $600-$800 for a 112 cab. But it's essentially what I want for the Helix.
  4. I'm wondering if I should have gone with the "cab" options I was researching (Powercab or Laney LFR)? Or perhaps one of the other options (QSC or Yamaha)?
  5. Thanks guys! I have it standing vertical on the floor. Most of the presets already have a cab cut at 80Hz. I'll give your tips a try.
  6. Received a Headrush FRFR-108 today. This is my first FRFR, after researching a bunch. Wow it's very bassy! I've gone through all the factory patches, just to make sure it wasn't any particular patches. Every one is very bassy. Does this mean I have to dial back the bass on every preset? Or could there be something else that I'm missing?
  7. No, I mean that I set the output level to -10dB or whatever level when the Helix amp is on, and set the level to 0 when the FX Loop block is on and the Helix amp is off. Then I save the patch. Then when I switch back and forth with the footswitch, the levels don't always change back and forth.
  8. OK, I've tried this. Again, thanks for your help. I had to set the output block alot lower than - 5dB. What's weird is that sometimes when switching back and forth with the footswitch, the output block level doesn't change correctly. And other times, it does. I guess when you use this method, you have to adjust the output block level whenever you turn the actual amp volume up or down, since the volume of the Helix amps isn't affected by the actual amp's volume controls?
  9. I've considered a power amp into a guitar cab. I have my tube amps and cabs that I can use any time. I was specifically asking for opinions on FRFR choices.
  10. Is the Alto comparable to the Headrush? I've read that the Headrush is more tuning to guitar EQ, whereas the Alto has a preamp for vocals.
  11. I know. I guess what I ultimately wanted to know was if the Headrush 108 would be enough?
  12. Now we're talking Yamaha and QSC besides Headrush. This is so difficult. I wish there was a store where I could just compare them side by side.
  13. How do they sound frequency-wise? Can the 108 handle lower frequencies? Does the 112 have a boomy low end?
  14. Hi, I just got my Helix LT, and I'm about to dive into FRFR. I'm not sure what size to get. Many say the 108 is plenty, but I'm just not sure. I also have no way to test them, since my local stores don't stock them. I'd like my choice to be capable of home use, rehearsal with another guitarist and drummer, as well as live use. Sometimes as a back line because some places I play don't have FOH.
  15. Yep, my Pedal Python has done wonders for my cabling.
  16. I'm getting conflicting information about the 5150 effects loop level. Some people are saying instrument, other are saying line. Thank you! I will give this a try tomorrow.
  17. I am so completely confused about how to set up the levels for 4cm to my EVH 5150 III. I'm begging someone to please help me! I've read so many conflicting things. Line level, instrument level, -12dB, -1.5dB? Set the Helix volume to control the 1/4" outs or not? With the 1/4" outs all set to instrument, and FX Loop block set to 0.0 dB, everything seems ok using the amp's preamp. But, if I bypass the FX Loop block and enable a Helix amp (no cab), the volume is deafening. Everyone talks about how easy this should be, but I'm not having that experience. Please help?
  18. On my HX Effects, there is a wait parameter for the expression pedal that I set to 300ms. This way, it bypasses the wah effect after 300ms of no movement. I don't see the "wait" parameter on the LT. Am I missing something?
  19. Yep, I've been looking at those, as well as the Laney LFR-112.
  20. The Scarlett was included in a discounted bundle with the monitors, so I figured I'd get it. I also got a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M30 headphones.
  21. I ended up getting Kali Audio LP6 monitors and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface.
  22. This doesn't sound like a glowing endorsement.
  23. I've been researching and putting the right package together to begin my trip down the digital modeling rabbit hole. The LT was $1099 and the floor was $1599 yesterday. Why the sudden $100 increase?
  24. I think this sounds pretty good, Would you say the Powercab sounds better?
