Everyone that has tried both, which do you prefer for live use?

I'm interested in getting a setup at home for editing, with a pc and some affordable monitors. Nothing overly fancy. I don't even know where to begin. Can you guys help me out with some suggestions as far as what type of pc (laptop or tower), what hardware (daw), and decent monitors?

The Laney has a setting for FRFR, 112, or 412.

There are 4 solutions I'm currently leaning towards. I'd like to hear your opinions (pros/cons) of each. 1. Headrush FRFR112 2. Laney LFR-112 3. Line 6 Powercab 4. SS power amp into my current 212 cab

What FRFR are you using? I'm seeing mixed reviews for many different ones.

Ok, so I really need someone to help me pull the trigger. I've played tube amps my entire life. Do I get the Helix to replace my HX Effects and continue using it in 4cm with my 5150 head? Do I get a standalone power amp to use the Helix with my existing cab? Do I just go all out and get the Helix and some sort of FRFR like a Headrush 112? I sometimes play out at places that don't have FOH.

What about going through my 5150's effects loop into a guitar cab, bypassing IRs? Or a power amp into a guitar cab?

When you switch between a preset using the 5150 and a preset using a Helix amp mod, do the levels match with the volume you have the 5150 set to, or do you have to adjust the Helix amp models independently?

I'm also looking at the Laney LFR112 Active Guitar Speaker Cabinet.

I like the idea of using an external power amp. Something like the SD Powerstage or the EHX 44 Magnum, into a guitar cab. What are your opinions/experiences with this?

I'm considering going with a Helix/FRFR setup for gigging. I'm currently using an HX Effects in 4cm with my 5150iii and I absolutely love it. That's making me consider going with the full Helix or LT. I'm just wondering what everyone else who has gone this route, or at least tried it thinks about it. Also, what FRFR's would you recommend to keep that "amp in the room" feel?

Does anyone have information about this?

It will only go 0-57 on my HX Effects. I've tried every position on the dial on the pedal, the learn function on the HX, etc. Any ideas?

I seem to be getting correct levels leaving everything at instrument level, so I guess I'll just leave it like that. I'm still curious about the settings I'm finding at different forums on the web (line level, -12 dB, etc).

Hi, I assume the 5150 III's effects loop is instrument level. But, I've read a few things online where HX Effects users set the levels for the effects send and return different. Any ideas if just setting them to instrument level is fine?

Nope. HX Effects doesn't support the switch.... Yet. I've heard that it will be in the future.

Well, programming this thing to change the EVH channels isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I put the EVH into learning mode by pushing both channel select buttons. Lights start blinking. Then, in the HX Effects, I go to command center and select a footswitch. Set the command to bank/program command, midi channel 1, program 1. Press footswitch 1 on the HX Effects. Choose the clean channel on the 5150. Then exit the learning mode on the 5150. Then, I switch to channel 2 or 3 on the 5150 and press footswitch 1 on the HX Effects. Nothing happens. Hi everyone, I received my new HX Effects yesterday and it is already at firmware 2.71. I heard that there have been issues with this firmware version. What are the issues? Should I go back to 2.70?
