    Wireless Headphone option for practicing

Hi Andy1175 Thanks for the clarification on the updated RS 120 II. I've had my 120 HDRs for a couple of years. Once I properly tune into the headset channel that I have my Helix "Phones" output directly connected to, I have not had any problems with hissing unless I get too far away from the headset charger/transmitter (like going outside the house and walking 15-20 feet away). Please Note: I have two chargers/transmitters for two headsets I own (located in the same room). One is connected to the television and other is connected to the Helix. I don't know if this is somehow doubling my signal strength. I would think not, as each transmitter is broadcasting a different input signal. In fact, if turned on, I can dial-up the sound coming from the TV on an alternate channel on my headset and listen to TV rather than what I am playing on the Helix (with no cross-talk between the two). The headset will automatically disconnect from the channel if the input signal is silent for about two minutes. So if you stop playing , you may get startled when your silent signal suddenly becomes a rather loud hiss. A quick strum of the guitar reestablishes the connection. I do have one other/different hiss-type issue. But it only seems to happen with one of the Helix tones that I use called "Ambient Clean". I get a faint crackling sound that slowly builds and gets increasingly louder if the signal volume from my playing is not loud enough (or non-existent). The crackling builds to a point where it sounds like you are frying a pound of bacon. A quick punctuated strum stops the crackling. The only way to keep the bacon from frying is to keep the signal volume up.

    Wireless Headphone option for practicing

I'm a complete novice. However, for the past 10 months, I have been using my Helix with a Line 6 G30 transmitter and Sennheiser HDR 120 (approx. $120 US) analog signal with (what I read online to be) 1 to 2 ms latency. Walk all around my very small house and get (what I consider very good sound quality no noticeable latency at all). I never have to stop to recharge the headphones (sometimes playing straight through for a few hours). The only time I get interference is when I'm in the kitchen playing and my wife turns on the microwave or if a mirror gets between me and the headset transmitter or maybe the G30. I would highly recommend if you are on a budget, don't need to stray more than a room or two away from the headset transmitter and would like minimal latency.

amplifi 150 data connection continuing issues

jmarchand, Thanks for your post of thanks. Glad to hear my suggestion worked for you. I never received an update on my support ticket from Line 6 as per a fix, etc. I have been enjoying my Amplifi 150, especially now that I picked up a Helix and I am running Helix phone jack out into the Amplifi line in (sounds pretty nice). However, I have to admit that I have not been using the Amplifi Bluetooth feature much. Not because I experienced lots of problems with it, but because I've been mostly working on original tunes (rather than jamming with other's recordings and/or backing tracks). I hope you have continued success with your Bluetooth connection. If you continue to use the Bluetooth feature often, it may be helpful to others if you post back with an update down the road. Thanks again.

amplifi 150 data connection continuing issues

I received a response from Line 6 about the support ticket I submitted last week. They thanked me for providing the info and will share this information with Quality Assurance team for them to look further into it.

AMPLIFi 75 constantly loses data connection

Try disabling the iOS keyboard and locking sound under Settings. I just bought an Amplifi and was having similar problems. I turned off the keyboard and locking sounds and have not had a problem since. My original post was under different topic (see link below). http://line6.com/support/topic/12778-amplifi-150-data-connection-continuing-issues/?p=113862 I hope this helps you and others having connection issues.

amplifi 150 data connection continuing issues

Thanks for the confirmation Jaguar9080. I'm still free of disconnects after a few more hours of playing with the Amplifi amp and app. I submitted a Support Ticket this evening to inform Line 6 of our observations. I'll keep you posted as per Line 6's response. Thanks Again

amplifi 150 data connection continuing issues

I just received my Amplifi 150 yesterday, installed all the latest Amplifi software/patches that are available to date. I had no problem with software installs using USB connection and Windows 7 computer. Also, I had no problems with paring the amp to my iPad Air (running latest iOS 8.4.1). However, within minutes of playing around with various sounds and settings using the Amplifi app on the iPad, I began to experience the same connection problems mentioned by others (approx. every 5 minutes). I realized that using the iPad's onscreen keyboard (to type in custom search terms for sounds) increased the frequency of disconnects. I decided to go into the iPad's Settings > Sounds and I disabled the "Lock Sounds" and "Keyboard Clicks" and I have not had a single disconnect since changing these sound settings (after approx. 3 hours and counting). Maybe the Amplifi app is having a problem with processing the keyboard click sounds that are coming from the iPad? I hope this tip helps others as much as it has helped me. (I also posted under thread for Amplifi 75 connection problems)
