  1. You'll need to buy a HM-2 unfortunately. It's a unique pedal which I believe no modeller has been able to replicate as far as I know. That being said I'd love it if they did add it to the helix one day.
  2. Wow, this thread is all a bit much! I know It's pretty much done with but I'll add my two pence in. I had the same issue the OP was describing, fizz, digital clipping, call it what you will. After speaking to various other users, getting the whole "It's not there, try a low and high cut, it's user error" etc I contacted my dealer and sent it to be looked at. Turns out it was actually faulty and Line 6 confirmed it would need a part replacing. The Helix is a great bit of kit but things go wrong and I think people need to realise that before getting all defensive.
  3. As far as the blocks go, the separate send / return is the same thing as the single block, the single block just has them both in one block. As far as the signal path goes, you wan't all your pre effects before the send, such as wah, overdrive etc and the effects for the loop after the return, such as delay, reverb etc. No hard or fast rules though, feel free to experiment.
  4. Think of the Send and Return as assigning the outputs and inputs of the helix. For example - Guitar > Helix Input > Send Block (Routed to Send 1 on the back of the Helix) > Amp Input Now we need separate routing for the effects loop - Amp Send > Helix Return 1 (Assigned to the Return Block in the Helix) > Helix Main Output > Amp Return
  5. This video gives you the best idea of set up for 4cm. Be warned when I tried it the send was set to "dry through" which plays havoc with the routing if you're not using Helix modelling so you might want to turn that off (you'll see the parameter when you click on the block)
  6. All sorted now! Turns out the send block is set to dry through by default which was causing it to bleed through into the power amp.
  7. Thanks for your reply, I haven't assigned them to a footswitch but they are not bypassed, do I need to assign them to activate them? I'll have a go with the template tonight.
  8. Well there is a manual, it's on the USB stick.
  9. Hi all, new Helix owner here. I've been experimenting with 4CM and can't seem to get it to work. I'm following the instructions to the letter here - The strange thing is, when I run it with two cables, input > send 1 > amp input it's fine. If I do guitar > amp input and then amp send > Helix input > Helix Send 1 > amp return it works fine also. However when I attempt the 4cm as per the video it doesn't work at all. For some reason the amp preamp gets bypassed and I just end up with a clean sound, no effects. The helix volume effects this as well. Controls on the front of the amp do nothing. I'm assuming that it's bypassing the send and return and routing straight to my power section. Amp loop definitely works fine (EVH 5150 iii, serial loop), and I understand the routing in principle so I must be missing something. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
