  1. Hello there. I'm a UX2 user like 5 years, which i've been gifted by my uncle in USA. Once, i had not any problems, while i was using Windows 7 i suppose. Then in time, some problems started to occur. Biggest one was -and still is- that, all of a sudden sound is gone and i don't have any option but to restart my computer. Either playing a game or watching a video, listening to music, all of a sudden, bam! Sound is gone and nothing helps but a restart! And it also randomly happens again after a restart as well. I started to have this problem in Windows 7, had in 8 and now in 10 it still happens. I did not change any computer part since then (cpu, mobo etc.) Besides, i've not got a second problem, which freaks me out often. As before, during any playback, a loud "white noise-ish" distort occurs for a second or two, then playback continues. This happens quite randomly, sometimes twice in 10 seconds, sometimes once, sometimes never. I've tried every driver i can, the oldest and the newest ones, tried changing the buffer sizes, buffer lengths, depths etc. What's more interesting is, this problems do not happen for two or three weeks, and the week after, it's an absolute nightmare! It's like, as if it has something to do with the days of the months! I do not overclock, my system is all stable and not overheated during even the hardest gaming sessions. I'm quite fed up with this problem. One day, i'll break the hell out of this device and post the images as an ultimate solution for the people who have such problems as well.. Please, i beg you; please help me!

  3. Hello all. I’ll try my best to explain this, I’ve only been playing a bit over a year so my terminology is sub par. I bought this amp for $400+ effing dollars and within 2 months of owning it, I go to practice and I notice my sound is now very fuzzy and bassy. It was VERY crunchy, clear and metal sounding, but now it is so fuzzy that I can barely distinguish my notes when fast picking or fingering......sounds like total crap TBH. I have never moved the amp since I brought it home. No liquids, physical damage, weather damage or anything. Curious what I can try to fix this? I’m somewhat tech savvy, and would really rather avoid paying more to get it fixed when I can barely afford the $400 amp itself. I’ve gone through all the settings, factory reset it, but nothing. It will randomly work for a minute or two out of nowhere, but will go back to sounding awful soon. Adjusting the Input jack has no effect to the sound. One thing I noticed, is when this happened, the built in tuner stopped reading my input..... would act as if I was unplugged. The tuner has since started working again, but the speaker itself (or the software, not a clue...) still sounds very Fuzzy with low distortion, low clarity, and very bassy.
  4. I recently started playing regularly again after a longish layoff and noted that I am no longer able to get distortion through my V20. The Crunch preset used to have decent distortion, was good enough for me to just quickly plug in and play, but it no longer works, it's clean with delay and reverb effects. No distortion with Chunk or Insane presets. I have the Spider remote and have grabbed a few custom tones, Ola Englund's, EVH 5150, Symphony of Destruction, the only one with noticeable distortion is the Ola Englund tone. Even this one sounds muddy, flubby when palm muting. I've tried some of the other built in tones, like Rock Rhythm, Metal Rhythm, Metal Solo, none of these have any distortion or crunch either. I've tried flashing the amp firmware, factory reset, custom tones, and playing a Metal Zone and EVH5150 through the amp (used to work), I'm not able to get anything but a muddy, flubby sound. It's possible this is a change I introduced, but I think it's unlikely since I haven't made any changes through the Spider remote until after I had noticed the distortion problem. I'd appreciate any suggestions or diagnostics anyone can provide. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hola amigos.
  6. I recently got the free trial of helix native to see if the helix was for me. I've been looking at it for a long time. Now that I have it, all my tones are muddy. When I record, the notes sound like one long jumbled and distorted mess. I record through a Scarlett 2i2 with the input gain super low because that helps. My question is, how would I fix this? Is it the Scarlett's gain that's the problem? Would the helix floor or rack have the same issues recording through that input as opposed to recording through a separate interface? Thanks
  7. Hi Everyone, I have been in search of a juicy, thick clean and overdrive tone, something which i can see Boss GT1000 and Fractal FX are phenomenally capable of, whereas, I have not been able to get there. When I say thick clean & overdrive tone, i mean the high notes are ringing with lots of juice, whether clean or in overdrive/distortion. Here are some examples - For overdrive/distortion - Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Hi, my M13 (Firm 2.04) have a big humm when I use distortion stomp. Why? I possible to resolve the problem?
  9. Hello everyone, I'm a new user of Helix My device is updated to the last version (2.71) but I can't find pedal sim like the Obsidian 7000 for example. I tried to upload the 2.20 where it was updated bu it didn't change a thing. Can somebody tell me how to get these others effects ? Thanks
  10. Hi all! So I'm enjoying my HD500 (yea i only just bought one in 2018 in great condition second hand) for use with something not generally thought of but for solo acoustic shows. I will also use it for electric gigs with a band (1% of gigs) in the same way but this question is about specifically getting a unity gain signal out of the 1/4" output for Acoustic gigs so venues that have an XLR to In-House can get neither a too quiet nor a too loud signal. These venues take this signal and plum it off to their amp and usually control their level from an iPad. If the signal is weak i guess i'll have to readjust my master output coz they'll not have enough level and if its too loud it could result in a lot of bleeding ears and equipment damage etc. I have a pedalboard with the unit and Roland kick trigger in it where everything, vocal mic, acoustic and kick trigger (into effects return) is setup. I have done 2 gigs so far and it already sounds good but just with my own equipment not into a venues in-house. My paths are as follows: Path/Input #1: Guitar (with active pickup at max) > Vintage Pre > EQ > Tube comp (for boost) > AMP DISABLED > Both join at Mixer > Reverb > Effects Loop > Looper Path/Input #2: Mic > Vintage Pre > EQ > AMP DISABLED > Both join at Mixer > Reverb > Effects Loop > Looper Roland Kick: Effects loop return > Looper (this only seems to work when the Effects loop is disabled, why haha?) (if there is some way to get the Looper to only record the guitar id love to know!) Note: Unit switches = Guitar in is at "Normal" and 1/4" output is at "Line" I then use a mono 1/4' to XLR cable to my powered speaker, the XLR out of this speaker will go to the venues In-House. So i did notice that when i disabled the effects on the guitar path it was a lot louder signal, and the mic had distortion and some signal noise so i should be able to fix that no worries... My real question is that without the HD500 having a sound meter or clipping meter how do i know where to set the guitar pickup level and whats the correct way to achieve this? Is it at the mixer? Maybe its at the master output? Obviously on a real mixing desk you set the fader at 0 and bring up the gain pot so its kinda just in the orange. Is there some software on the computer that emulates a mixing desk that i could hook up via USB and play into to test signal level? Can the HD500 Edit software do it? Sorry for all the questions haha! My thought is to start fresh with the 2 paths (no effects or amps), leave guitar pickup at max, adjust desired Mic volume output to match with the trim pot, then add effects preamps/eq's etc that are not boosting or cutting volume. Would be great to hear everyones thoughts if that all makes sense, Thanks :)!
  11. Hi All, Just upgraded my firmware to 2.70 from 2.54 and now my USB audio is very distorted. Helix sounds are fine but any audio coming back from the mac via either the system or my DAW are now very distorted. I installed the latest drivers and read the notes about allowing them through Mac OS X's security features in 10.13 and onward however I never got the prompt for this and it doesn't show up in the privacy settings either. Tried the usual restarting of everything with no luck, anyone else experiencing any problems using the helix as an audio interface?
  12. Hello, I use Line 6 UX2 with Podfarm as software to play my guitar. So this is how I usually connect: Guitar -> UX2 -> Computer (Podfarm) | Headphones Now I bought a Loop pedal and I do this: Guitar -> Loop Pedal -> UX2 -> Computer (Podfarm) | Headphones And it works perfectly fine! No delay or whatsoever. My question is whenever I play something, let's say Am C D F as a loop with CLEAN sound and then on my Layer 2 want to play solo over this, and click "Pedal ON" on my Podfarm the Layer 1 also changes. So how do I solve this problem? I want to be able to: Layer 1. Clean acoustic sound, looping! Layer 2. Distortion Solo. Layer 3. Another sound etc. So how do I do this with the UX2? Please help.
  13. Hey Helix fans, I am trying to get a descent sound from my Helix LT direct to PA through XLR. Problem is: it always sounds to edgy/fizzy when using any kind of distortion And instead of adjusting each effect with a super low "treble" setting, I'd prefer to use them just as I would real pedals into an amp, so I stay familiar with them. I've added a global high-pass filter to 8k... but still, I find it kinda just gives a "pillow over speaker" effect Any Amp/Cabinet combo settings you would suggest that might be ideal? Any suggestions for global settings? EQ settings? Thanks everyone
  14. So took along time to figure this issue out, seemed like for no reason i was receiving unwanted distorting/clipping through the headphone jack, 1/4" & XLR outputs. As you can imagine, clipping is a horrible issue to have with a machine like this. Turns out the Bit Depth & Sample Rate in "Vintage Digital" delay was giving me the problem. In order to eliminate the clipping, Bit Depth has to be on 24 and Sample Rate has to be on 48- basically making it a fairly useless "vintage" delay. And even still, there's still some clipping. Having those two settings adjusted down makes the clipping much much worse. It used to be my favorite delay but for some reason, I believe after one of the updates, the clipping started. Anyone else have that issue? Either way, hope I was able to help some of you.
  15. I have a variax 700 acoustic. No matter which model I select, I get a good signal on all but one string. Usually the G or D string. It is distorted, fuzzy, whatever you want to call it , and it sounds horrible. If I tap on the saddle with my pick, it'll go back to normal. But it will do it again after a few minutes. Just out of curiosity, does Line 6 recommend steel or bronze strings for the variax acoustics? I've tried both and I'm never sure if one or the other is better. And then there's the model selector knob. It sometimes doesn't engage the next model intill you give it a tap. Not enough of a tap to go into the alt mode (red light) but just a touch to get it to change voices. Does anyone else have any of these issues and is there anything I can do about them? Thanks ! 16. I hope this post goes through: Recently I was editing setting "5C" on my POD-XT Live and I've totally screwed it up, somehow, from what its "default" setting normally is (I'm too much of a wuss to seriously edit some of the effects because I know I'll forget what the default settings are) and I don't know how to "edit" it as-it-is to get the default effect setting back!!! Can someone please help me out???
  17. Hallo to you all. First of all I ask you to forgive me for my not at all perfect English, I'm Italian. I'm trying to set the friend of mine's "POD xt live" "Insane" distortion like the "Insane" distortion of my "Spider II" because he is literally fallen in love with it  [like me, besides (maybe wrong term)...]. The set is near completion but don't sound like the "Insane with green led on" (instead red led on) of my "Spider II". Nothing more. I hope some of you can help me and I add the fact that I already tried to switch on the "Stomp" pedal but without any significant outcome/result. Thanks! Max
  18. Hello, wondering if any of you have had a similiar issue. Today I fired my rig up that has been working perfectly for years, when I flipped my pack on, a super loud shrieking oscillation overloaded the input of my axe fx. All lights to red solid constantly. Tried a different pack, same deal. Super loud distortion overloading the input. Tried to come out of the aux output 1/4" instead of the main out 1/4". Same distortion. Restarted unit, exercised 1/4" jacks, tried multiple cables and always the same thing. When guitar is plugged straight into axe fx with cable it sounds normal, which is leading me to believe my relay receiver is shot as I don't believe both packs just died. Has anyone else encountered this or have an idea what may be going on? I need a wireless so if anyone has insight towards how much this may cost to get serviced/how long, or if I'm better off just buying a new setup. Thanks!!

    Red Plate Amps

Anyone managed to get anything that can sound like a Red Plate at it's sweetest.(Alan Hinds/Chuck D'Aloia).Got to be honest Ive been trying and cant get anything near on my Helix Any experts please please. :)
  20. Hello all, I am new on all of this. I've been playing my electric guitar for some time. And I bought the Line 6 PODHD500 some time ago and a friend helped me out to put some basic sounds, as a metalcore sound, clean, solo, etc. I use as a amp the Line 6 Spider IV (15). Well, my problem is that I was a long time without using my pedal, so I restarted and I don't know anything about this kind of things, but with the help of some videos I got all drivers, etc etc, and the edit program, where I have put some metalcore and djent rythms on it and sounds great, the problem is when I use acoustic or clean tones, such as piezos, acoustic, etc. It always sounds with distortion, I can't get anything clean. I have my amp with metal, but if I put it in clean it doesn't sound at all. So I don't know how to fix it, I just want a clean / acoustic sound to some intros or to play some indie. Does anyone know what's happening? If something is not clear for my english, sorry and feel free to ask. Greetings from Spain!
  21. Hi! This is a bug and a bit nasty one, but I have no clue as where to report such bugs - would this forum be the correct place? If I have an amp enabled with quite the amount of gain, and I then enable the compressor it creates an ugly spike in the volume for a short moment. This when I let the guitar ring while enabling the compressor. If I than disable and enable the compressor again there's no such volume spike. This should be reported back to line6 somehow. Can others here verify it? I've already had other users on facebook acknowledge this spike.
  22. I like to give the older Marshall models a bit of extra bite by using a drive pedal directly in front of the amp. I always seem to come back to the Tube Distortion and Tube Screamer in front of the Plexi and JTM-45. Output high, drive low; the usual thing. But perhaps I'm missing a trick. What do others like to use for distortion / drive effects with these amp models? Any clever tricks for setting the pedal controls? Any suggestions welcome, even if it's just 'stick to what you are doing' :)
  23. I've done a short demo of the stuff I've been playing with on the $50 ST Micro ARM 7 eval board: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoRuUit7FyM Enjoy! ChewingAluminum(Foil)
  24. I couldn't find anything on this by searching the forum, but has anyone tried using a preamp block as if it were an overdrive/distortion block. I got the idea from seeing the number of overdrive pedals being marketed as being a "Marshall in a box," and I expect they are modeled on the preamps of Marshall amps. If that makes a good overdrive, then maybe a model of an actual preamp would work similarly. An obvious downside is how much more DSP a preamp block requires over an overdrive block. But assume we have DSP to spare for this preset. I tried this using the Brit 2204 preamp into the WhoWatt amp/cab. My thinking was, the 2204 gives a lot of gain, and the WhoWatt seems to have a lot of headroom to accomodate a strong signal, but still accepts overdriven signals well. The result was acceptable, but I had to turn the treble on the 2204 preamp all the way down, and the bass most of the way up to get something like the sound I was expecting. I should have tried it with less gain-heavy preamps, but I don't have my Helix with me at the moment. I have a couple questions: 1. Does anyone know whether the preamp blocks actually send a "louder" signal than an overdrive block? (For that matter, do physical preamps send higher amplitude signals than physical overdrive pedals?) 2. Do the "amp in a box" pedals attempt to model just the preamp stage, or do they attempt to also model the power amp, just at a low amplitude? 3. Has anyone else tried this and, if so, what combinations worked?
  25. So I was just playing around with a very basic path, trying to see where the reverb sounds best (before cabinet, after cabinet, etc.). Using this basic path setup: Amp > Reverb > Cabinet [For the test, I was using the Hall reverb with 8.5 decay and 45% mix settings.] When I use the US Deluxe Nrm amp with low gain (4.0) and cranked channel/master volumes, it sounds great... nice rich reverb. You can distinctly hear the decaying sound after you stop playing. But when I change only the amp to the Line 6 2204 Mod (with gain at 8 and channel/master volumes at 10), there is almost no reverb sound at all (with the exact same reverb and cabinet settings). There is a very slight amount of reverb, but you definitely cannot hear the decaying sound like the cleaner amp. Something really strange is happening to the reverbs on high-gain amps that are cranked... it's almost as if the reverb disappears! This completely explains why I've had so much trouble trying to get my reverbs to sound normal (I'm a high-gain junkie). Please try this out!
