    Cord for an FVB2

I picked up an FVB2 controller to use on my Line 6 Spider IV ; however, it did not come with a cord. It looks like it could take a standard ethernet cable? Is that correct. If not where can I find a cord for this? Thanks in advance.

    Controlling pedals with HX effects

Does anyone know if i can toggle individually on and off from HX effects all the pedals that i have connected to its loop?or they are just assigned altogether in the signal flow as loop 1 or 2?
  3. Hello, I use Line 6 UX2 with Podfarm as software to play my guitar. So this is how I usually connect: Guitar -> UX2 -> Computer (Podfarm) | Headphones Now I bought a Loop pedal and I do this: Guitar -> Loop Pedal -> UX2 -> Computer (Podfarm) | Headphones And it works perfectly fine! No delay or whatsoever. My question is whenever I play something, let's say Am C D F as a loop with CLEAN sound and then on my Layer 2 want to play solo over this, and click "Pedal ON" on my Podfarm the Layer 1 also changes. So how do I solve this problem? I want to be able to: Layer 1. Clean acoustic sound, looping! Layer 2. Distortion Solo. Layer 3. Another sound etc. So how do I do this with the UX2? Please help.

Question about preset mode vs stompbox mode

Hey guys, I just bought the Helix LT a few days ago and I just started playing with it. I made some presets via the pc editor but I realized that when I switch to stompbox mode no effects are shown. Can anybody help me?
  5. Hi all, I hope to find an answer to a question I have for a long time now. So, I am not willing to give up on my stomp-boxes and yet, at times I am forced to practice at night and yes this means a tube amp is too loud and I need headphones. Someone told me i could get a fair quality by using an external device such as the TonePort UX1 ore focusrite scralett solo and the bigger versions. Please did anyone try the following signal path: Guitar -> Pedals (overdrive, distortion, modulation , delay etc ... from various producers) -> LINE 6 TONEPORT UX1 (without pc software editing tops cab simulation) -> headphones out? IS THIS POSSIBLE? WHAT IS THE SOUND QUALITY? CAN I RECORD LIKE THAT? So...thanks in advance. Dan

    About Octave

Hey there! I use to play with a drummer, just me and him, and with the Helix I do two guitars and the bass. But I have an issue... I don't know how I can play a chord with the guitar and make that the bass line just make the lower note, not the entire chord. I tried with a fliter, eq... and the result isn't great. Isn't there a monophonic octave? Does anybody know how I can get it? Thank you very much for you time!
  7. I notice the rack has 3 of these plus an input for a pedal switch as well. Then you add on the control it has another 3 inputs. Is this then giving me the ability to use these as controllers. Also I have some old Roland dual switch controllers are these inputs able to be used to act with switches like an fs6 or fs7?

    FX Loop Phase Issues?

Anyone will to test this with your Helix? I've got an SM7 connected to the Helix via the mic input. I have nothing in the signal chain -- no blocks. Healthy signal running to Logic. All sounds good. I pulled out my old RNC compressor and put it into one of the FX loops. I notice that when I make the FX Loop block active (even with the outboard unit on bypass) that I can hear a slight chorus effect and a loss of low end. Sounds like a bit of the original dry signal is getting mixed back in and there's a phase issue. I still hear this when I engage the compressor. When I bypass the FX Loop block the signal is nice and full again. I decided to test this with another "true bypass" outboard unit with different cables on a different FX Loop. I'm getting the same weird phasing issue. I don't use the FX Loops when I'm playing guitar through the Helix so this is the first time I've come across this. I don't have a problem running effects in Logic, but it would suck if the Helix's FX Loops aren't transparent. Anyone else notice this? Thanks.
  9. I have a Line6 M13 and I would like to hook up my external effects to get the best possible tone out of my gear. I don't know a lot about effect loops etc so anyone who could possibly advise me, it would be greatly appreciated. Please see my gear list below: Line6 M13 Vox AC15C1 Amp (No Effect Loop) Ibanez TS808 Boss BD-2 Vox Wah - V847 Is it possible to hook up my external effects into the effects loop in the pedal without using the 4 cable method since my amp does not have that? I love the tones I'm currently getting out of my M13 and the Vox amp but I would like to use my external pedals as I like those drives better than the tones internally. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hi Folks. My first post here. I have been researching the Helix as well as the AX8. I am 32, been playing tube amps for 12 years now. I have a lollipop pedal board because I am too cheap to overpay the ridiculous pedal train asking price. I find that no matter what tube amp i have(I've had a lot) there are always limitations with how i channel switch and use effects. I am in a gigging modern high gain metal/rock band and I am looking to simplify my rig. Currently, I am running this setup: Guitar=>pedal board(tuner, decimator, overdrive, flashback delay)=> laney ironheart=>mesa cab. What i am trying to understand, is whether I can replace my current rig with this: Guitar=>Helix=>poweramp=>mesa cab. My BIGGEST concern, is TONE. I want that great tube tone I've gotten out of my amps. I don't want the positive grid bias sound or the pod sound. I don't see many people using the Helix as their sole guitar tone source(aka no tube amp). Before I buy a Helix, should I feel confident in the setup I am proposing and the sound I am hoping to capture? Are there any limitations that I should be aware of? What would be a good power amp for this rig? Thanks much for any insight you can provide me. Also, here is my band to represent the tone I am going for. [youtubevid} [endyoutubevid]
  11. Just wondering, as I ideally want to run an additional pedal board along side my Firehawk fx with additional stompboxes but still be able to turn all effects off via the Firehawk when changing presets. If this is possible could someone tell me how I can achieve this? Thanks so much
  12. So sorry if this is a newbie question but i've tried for days to try to find an answer before posting and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. So I have Live 3x. I have an external microphone pointed at my amp connected to the 3x ( As my audio interface.. the usb cable is connected to my windows 10 laptop)... I also have external pedals that I am trying to use WITH the Live 3x... wanting to use some delays from the live 3x with this boss distortion pedal... I am also trying to recording all of my pedals and the live 3x from the amp. Using the microphone I have connected to the 3x.... Now... I have Ableton Live 9 .. I cannot figure out how to 1. Get the external amps to work with the live 3x and 2. How to recording all of these things using the external microphone that I have.. I know my questions are all over the place but i'm just really cluster f#$%# and I can't figure anything out.. Really any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

    Helix direct and pedals

So, I'm pretty sold on a Helix. I've been wanting one for a long time and I'm getting close to being able to pull the trigger. But I have a question that I haven't been able to find. How well does the helix take distortion pedals when not using an amp? I've seen a fair bit of info about incorporating pedals into a 4cm rig, and that looks awesome - and indeed, I have a use for that. But some gigs I have to go direct, or I can't have a live amp on stage. I've owned and gigged for years with a HD500, and it does not take dirt pedals well. I very nearly returned a couple of very nice pedals because I didn't like the sound, because I was doing a bunch of no-amp gigs and hadn't thought to run the pedals through a tube amp. So, how does the helix amp models handle distortion pedals (not as boost/overdrive, but as actual distortion into clean amp sound)?

    Pedals with Helix

Anyone using their favorite pedals with Helix, esp. in 4CM? I like some of the choices in the Helix, but also like the ones I already have. Just wondering if anyone else is going that way too. BTW, I also prefer my amp's preamp section, so the Helix is mainly for fx. My main goal is not portability right now, so I guess I'm using the Helix as a new and improved version of the G-s*stem. Having said all that, for portability purposes (sometimes that is desired), I plan on making presets that mimic the above. Not (to my ear, and that's the bottom line for all of us) an exact replica (if that were the case, then why use all of the outboard stuff), but good enough when going light is the purpose at the expense of the "exact" tone I want. I really try to get "that" sound using only the Helix, and will continue to do so, but pretty satisfied with the sound of the mass of wires and crap.
  15. Since my Helix has been away since the 11th of Feb and since I have been unable to get an update from the service centre I've had to put together my G2 board You know what It sounds bloody amazing I'm so utterly pissed off at Line6 just now I might just relegate the Helix to backup duties They supply a faulty product and the working musician has to take it in the shorts while they fan you about trying to fix it Without even the basic manners of simple communication Received your helix investigating Found a fault with X Ordering spare component Etc It wouldn't kill someone to have simple common decency to let me know what the status is Instead you tip it into a black hole and hope it doesn't come out the other end with new faults you have to raise tickets for Total pish boys Total pish Anyway here's my own pedalboard https://flic.kr/p/DrmW8Y
  16. I was thinking since all pod have different design, which was the best pedal (exp. pedal)... Imo the pod xt had the most beautifully designed pedal, and helix the worst.

    Moving tones on the FX100

I am very new to the FX100 and still trying to figure out how best to set it up so that I can use it to play my set list. I see how to load the tones into the banks so that each tone is on foot switch A, B, C or D. I also see I have 25 banks to play with and can move up and down the banks by pressing either A & B or C & D. I have a few questions about making it work for me. I noticed that bank 25 had USER1 through USER4 so I have replaced those with "my tones" however, the other 24 banks are prepopulated with what look like good tones but not what I need in any one bank. Can I a) move the tones around in the banks (and if so how?) and b) If I replace a prepopulated tone with one of "my tones" how do I get it back again? Are all the tones in the first 24 banks already saved in "my tones"? Forgive my ignorance but I have searched but can't find any decent documentation and no one seems to have asked this question in these forums.
  18. hello , I have this doubt , I am not managing to connect my old overdrive pedal to add to my amplifi FX100 , I wonder if that bracket supports this because I have a few pedals like to add along with the FX100 in pedalboard . Greetings from Brazil.
  19. hello going to buy a Digitec Jamman Stereo looper/phrase pedal and would like to know if there is no risk to connect the preamp out of spidervalve mk2 212 to the in of the pedal and the out of the pedal to the power amp in. the reason is so i could record a loop with different effects from the amp (clean for example) and play a live lead with other fx parameters (distortion... ) is it safe? thanks in advance
  20. Just bought a Amplifi TT and I've been asking a bunch of question on this forum while I'm all antsy waiting for it to arrive. Could I use the "AMP Out" port on this thing to plug it into a physical guitar pedal and then go from that into a physical speaker cabinet? I was thinking about doing this with my volume pedal to simulate having it be the last item on a pedal board instead of the first.

    Firehawk Backup

As far as I can tell so far, there is no way to backup the entire contents of the Firehawk? I have not connected it yet to PC but I think that is just for recording purposes. Has anyone checked this out? Also I did not realize when I bought my Firehawk, that you can write or "copy" over the factory settings, and once you do that, that particular patch is gone for good unless you do a full factory reset which will likely wipe out any settings of your own in the unit itself. Then, you are left to download one by one all the patches you have saved to "My Tones" Am I correct on all the above??? I would like to know the individual factory patches are available for download just in case I want to reload it. Any help is appreciated!! Also, this is my review of the Firehawk at this point: First, it is a bright brassy sounding unit. It's great for a lot of distortion tones but to me does not appear to be designed for a straight guitar sound like you would use for a straight rhythm or Country Music style leads. Also to me, even a lot of the distortion patches are brassy sounding. That is my conclusion so far after a couple hours of playing with the settings. Consider also this is my opinion in the way that I am connecting the unit. I am only running the mono out directly into my old solid state Peavey Special 130 amp. Running thru a tube amp or sound system may make a big difference but I still think this unit is very bright and digital sounding. I have been trying to find a "warm" tube amp straight sound. The way I was finally successful in getting very close was to start with an unedited "User" patch that you will find at 30.A. Then I added and edited Eq. and compression, delay and reverb, possibly noise gate if you want. Doing this was faster and easier than trying to edit an existing factory patch. I was considering returning the unit until I figured this out because it is just too bright sounding to me. I am still using my old old Digitech RP 10 and I think it sounds better than the new wonderful Firehawk. Just my 5 cents worth, but I still have a mountain of editing to do with the Firehawk. In all fairness, the RP10 was pretty digital sounding also until I eventually tweeked in the right amount of compression and e.q. for my taste, but over the years I have been very satisfied with it. I do think however that the Firehawk is actually worse in that respect. Hard to believe in this advanced stage of electronic evolution we live in. I'm not convinced we have totally overcome the need for tubes! Thanks all!!! Jay

    500X Bag or Case Solution

New here and been searching the threads for bag or case solution for my 500x. I added an extra mission exp pedal and use a poly tune pedal also. I'm wondering if anyone has an suggestions for either a soft bag to pack up my gear or a hard case to just open up and use on stage? I know that's 2 questions in one but hoping someone can sway me one way or another. Thanks!

Can I run pedals before my HD500X ?

Hey people, I just bough the HD 500X. I want to run a couple of pedals before my POD ( a Real Tube drive and Marshall Guv'nor ). Will this be a problem ? I don't want to damage my unit, so I figured I would ask first. Thanks for the help gang...

    Guitar Effects Question

Hey guys, noob question. I've been playing guitar for a few years as a hobby, but I've been using a Line 6 Pod XT Live multi effects pedal. I recently started experimenting with my Line 6 Spider III which has built in distortion settings, and I prefer it's sound over my effects pedal. I have been looking into buying individual pedals, but I have a few questions regarding which pedals to buy. Most of the articles I've read say that an Overdrive, Distortion, and Fuzz pedal are necessary for a good distorted sound, but I am happy with the Clean, Crunch, Metal, and Insane channels on the amp. If anything, I would buy a fuzz pedal, but do you guys think an overdrive and distortion would be necessary? Also, my amp has delay, reverb, phaser, tremolo, and some flanger effects, which are activated using the knob. Is it worth it to buy effects pedals for each of these effects? I know it's more convenient, but is it necessary? If you guys have any tips on which pedals are most important to buy that would really help. Thanks

    Line 6 Wishlist Items

Hey Line 6-ers. I've been a devotee for AGES, and I just thought I'd chime in on a Product I want to see Line 6 create. I Use a PODHD 500 for live gigs and have since they were released. I use the 4CM, and don't use any of the amp simulation. Because I love the sound of my amp. I've thought aboput trading across for an M13, since I only use the effects - but I still want/need for live gigs, the flexibility of more that 4 effects at once, and still flexible routing. AND 2 expression pedals like the old Flextone and Vetta Floorboards used to have. I thought it would be SICK to recommend a new product - and I'm interested to hear your suggestions for Line 6. Introducing - the M25PRO HD Stompbox Moddler. Features: - Up to 16 simultaneous FX, with flexible routing options. - Flexible FX Loop placement - Comprehensive I/O for live gigs - (FX Loop, ins/outs - pretty much like the M13) - Dual expression Pedals with Toe switch (Like POD HD) - Standard Line 6 Effects Selection (Everything that comes with M13) And here's the kicker: - Custom Effects: Kemper-style Profiling of your favorite pedals, and settings. So if you have vintage, or specific pedals you use, and you want to condense them into one device for a gig - you could record an IR of your own pedals and load them into the unit (Presumably 48 memory spots for custom effects.) I want one now. Grunge on! And don't say - Get an AxeFX...it's not the same thing. I don't want 8.5 million different amps, and effects and a $3500 price tag. But I'd easily pay $1000 - $1500 for a pedal board like this from Line 6.
