  1. I fired up my new HD500x today and am having some troubles with low volume output through the 1/4 outs and phones jack. Most patches need to be cranked fairly loud using the Master knob to be at any sort of reasonable level. The signal output through the headphones is very soft as well. Any advice would be appreciated.
  2. Hey guys, This is my first time using my Helix Floor as a DAW and when I attempt to record DI and effected tones my DI volume is almost non-existent as you can see. The super faint blue line is the input on track 2. Track 1 is my effected tone and Track 2 is my DI. As you can see the input for track 2 is input 7 which I know is the DI signal. I have all channel outputs to stereo out but have tried using every other output. I've tried everything I think.... I've tried boosting output volume in the global setting, I've tried adding a clean boost in my chain (not DI anyway), I've tried adjust the track volume in Logic but nothing is working for me. Any advice? As an FYI the volume knob on my HELIX unit does not work and I am speaking to the support team about this currently but I don't believe this should affect the track input volume anyway. I may be wrong.
  3. I’ve had both an hx stomp, and now a stomp xl, and my expression pedal is not working for swells. I plugged it into the expression 1/2 on the stomp, and then added a volume block to my patch. I tried putting my volume block at the beginning of my signal chain, after my amp, and at the very end. I also tried messing with the global settings. My issue is that it works for turning up and down my volume, but even though it’s before my reverb and delays, it shuts off the echoes and delays when I roll it back. I want the echoes and delay to continue decaying after I turn down my volume. Instead, it starts turning off my reverb and delay instantly as soon as I begin to roll back on my volume pedal. And this keeps happening regardless of where I put the volume block in my signal chain. I also turned up my decay time on my reverb block as far as it will go, and my volume block is still shutting off the decay. What do I need to do to get the volume block to work for swells?
  4. Hi everyone, I am using an HX Stomp XL. I am using different presets for electrical guitar, clean sounds, crunch, distorted sounds, boosted distorted sounds for soli etc... Is there some guidelines as to how to set the levels (drive/ channel volume / master) so that the overall volume of my guitar's sounds remains consistent ? The sound engineer/ FOH also wishes to get a signal with not too much variations... I always find it difficult to judge by ear if the volume of my presets are consistent or not. Thanks for any idea ! Vincent
  5. When I change the channel, (clean, crunch, metal, insane) The volume goes up all the way. I already tried factory resetting it, but the problem persists. What can I do to fix this??
  6. Hi! I'm about to purchase HX Effects for my new rig and would like to use external pedal for wah wah and volume but I would like to have it in one pedal just like on Helix LT or Floor (POD GO also I guess). Do you know of any cheaper equivalent for the Mission Engineering SP1-L6H? I know that the pedal has to have a toe switch and a WS out (whatever that is... ;) ) Thanks in advance!
  7. I’m an acoustic guitar player just picking guitar up again after around 10 years or so. Decided to get an electric (Squire Classic Vibes 70’s Thinline Tele and an amp (Catalyst 60) as well. Played the guitar through my dad’s modeling amp (Fender) and had no problems. Got my Cat today and turned it on to tried the Clean voicing (the whole reason I got the amp was for clean playing, and I thought it had gotten broke in shipping. Pretty much had to crank channel and master volume on the amp and volume on guitar to even hear it. Tried with headphone and again, it was like the volume was at 10-20 percent. you change to the other voicing and they just about blow you away. I know nothing about amplifiers, am I missing something? I got the foot pedal to be able to switch channels, but with voice volume being so wildly different there is no way I could switch it without blowing the roof off the house. I will play with it more tonight, but feel like something is wrong. you can add some boost, but then it just makes it sound overdriven and is not the sound I am after. Any insight anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Curious to know how other people use MIDI for volume control on their Helix and what block and parameter you're sending CC values to. I know answers will differ based on the how you're using your volume pedal in the chain. Right now I have my HX stomp set up to take CC messages on the Level parameter in the final Output block but I'm thinking of moving the volume control to earlier in the chain and controlling the Level parameter in my Cab block so it comes before all synth and time based effects. How are other people doing this?
  9. I've been using my M13 for a couple months now and generally love it. But I cannot figure out how to get a volume boost for a solo without using an overdrive or distortion effect. Often I want to do a clean solo, perhaps with just some delay or phaser. But those types of effects don't have a gain or output level parameter that I can adjust to boost my signal loud enough for a solo. Am I missing something? Is there some type of "transparent" effect that has an output level parameter I can use for a "clean boost"? Is there some overall setting/preference I should be tweaking? I don't have a volume pedal and I don't want to be dependent on an expression pedal for this. I want to be able to hit one foot switch and not have to do the pedal dance. I run a mono set up, simple input/output with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
  10. I have several presents where I want the volume pedal and the wah. When I add these blocks to the path it automatically assigns the volume to exp2 and Wah to exp1. To change between you use the toe switch on the pedal. This is all good except as it's in volume mode as default I have to press the pedal all the way forward to activate the hidden toe pedal to get to the wah. The problem is now I'm at 100% volume as I've had to push the volume pedal all the way forward to get to the tow switch ie all my spare headroom, and it's too loud. Any suggestions please. Thanks
  11. Hello. I was wondering if any of you have experienced any issues with the headphone output of the Helix LT or Helix Floor? I have an Helix LT connected as an audio interface to my Windows 10 laptop. I only use headphones and like to jam along with YouTube and guitar pro and recently when I listen to a preset through my headphones connected to the output jack of my Helix LT, the panning/volume is all wonky and is not balanced with the right side noticeably louder than the left. The issue is across all my patches including factory and user). The issue seems to be volume related, if you crank up the amp or add a distortion block it seems to pan harder to the right and becomes very off putting. If you turn the volume knob below 12 o’clock the panning balances better, turn the volume knob up to 3 o’clock or to full then panning is almost hard right and I can hardly hear anything from the left as if you’ve have duff headphones. As a temporary work around I have to pan the output block at the end the chain by at least 30% to the left to balance the sound. I've tried different 1/4 inch adapters and different headphones, I have some in ear monitors and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 250 ohm and the issue persists. I have even sought a second opinion from my wife who agrees there is Definitely a panning/volume issue. There is no problems when listening to music and videos from YouTube etc. It only affects my guitar patches. Also, this seemingly started happening out of nowhere. I do not recall making any changes to global settings, but perhaps that is where the problem is? I am updated to firmware version 2.92 and have been since it was released. Out of desperation I have completed a factory reset and even rolled back the firmware to 2.8 and reinstalled 2.92 with no joy and I am now worried it may be a hardware issue. Everything has been working fine until now. If anybody could help me figure this out, I would really appreciate it! Thank you.
  12. So for my own use the best setup I could arrange for sound and feel has been stacking my dual 112+ powercabs. Is it possible for one of the physical volume controls to control power and output to both of the amplifiers. Instead in its current state they both need to be adjusted from each powercab and it would be ideal to override this and function amplifier output from one powercab for both units. This would be helpful and allow for more control from the patches and then the ability to control the total output of the amplifiers on the unit itself , albeit from one unit globally. Any changes for output level outside of the master powercab volume being done on the patch or global settings of the helix. Please inform. Thank you.
  13. I've been having a problem trying to use my Dunlop DVP3 Expression Pedal as a Volume pedal in the effects loop of my HX Effects. The problem is that when the heel is fully down the volume is at 0% (which is how it should be) but then when I push the pedal halfway forward the volume is at 100%, then finally as I continue rocking the DVP3 forward all the way to the toe position the volume goes down to 0%. So I start at 0%, then halfway through it hits 100%, then all the way pressed forward the volume is back down to 0%. Not sure why its doing this. Anyone have ideas how to fix it? Setup Details: From the "EXP" jack on the DVP3 it connects to the Pedal jack (channel 1) on the HX Effects. In HX Edit: Created a Volume Block and assigned Exp Pedal 1 to it. Min Value is set to 0% Max Value is set to 100% Set to "Position" Linear (not logarithmic)
  14. Guys, I am a bit lost as a HX newbie :) I have connected my HX Stomp with a DVP4 pedal through a TS cable. When using a random Wah sound the position moves correctly from from 0 - 100 and vice versa. However, my volume is doing the same trick at the same time, which is not very useful.... How can I just block any volume level changes while using my pedal for Wah sounds?
  15. I've had a Line 6 HX Stomp for approximately a year and it's a neat little box. However today it began it randomly fluctuate in volume(often with some high-pitched static)...this seems to happen in any preset, clean, distorted, or otherwise. Has anyone experienced this issue or know of any solutions?
  16. I’m trying to set up my Volume without costing me one of the 8 footswitches.
  17. Hello, I've recently bought a Flextone III XL and I'm pretty disapointed. I have the same problem detailed in this old post (I don't know why Line 6 locked all topics) http://line6.com/support/message/476712 In my case, volume changes coicide when the light of the channel turns off (both in the floorboard and in the amp). Can it be caused by a digital issue? I know lots of people had the same problem with this amp. Does anybody knows how to fix it? Technical support is very very far away from my home. I can't belive Line 6 don't tell me anything but "take it to the technical support". For what I've seen this is a typical issue of this amp. I would apreciate any help you could give me.
  18. Help. Helix is a few years old. Volume pedal only stays at 0% when i hold the heel down. Otherwise it is sort of spongy and will be 5-12% ish. Not so good for volume swells. Does it need mechanical work on the inside??
  19. Connected to my Helix are my monitors (XLR) and my PC (USB). So, if I play a YT video on my PC it will come out of my monitors. So far, so good. However, the guitar's volume is blisteringly loud. What would be the best way to get the guitar's volume down (regardless of patch used) without touching the patches as I've already set their volume during rehearsals, and without touching the PC's volume? In other words, how do I get the guitar's volume down in the mix?
  20. I'm having two issues. One is that the volume/sustain seems to roll down and cut itself out, not a natural sustain happening. Sounds forcibly rolled down to no volume. The second issue is some snapshots, particularly my lead tone is starting a very low volume and ramping up to where it should be. Even while on the snapshot if I am not consistently playing something it will reduce its volume and ramp up again as I start playing.
  21. I like to play guitar thru the Helix LT (using Headphones) while jamming to music from my PC coming in via USB. I've noticed the volume of the music is full until I start playing guitar, then the incoming music is reduced greatly in volume. If I stop playing guitar, I hear the music slowly ramp up in volume to full level. I've tried several apps to play the music: MediaMonkey, Media Player, VLC, Quicktime. Is the Helix doing this? Any suggestions?
  22. [Hi! Long-time player - first-time poster] I'm using my HD500x in Pedalboard mode with different effects assigned to each of the 8 foot switches. I would like to assign WAH and VOLUME to the Expression pedals, EXP 1 and EXP 2, but cannot figure out how to do that. I can take one of the FS and change it to WAH and then change the assignment to EXP 1, but then I lose the effect I had on that FS. I feel like this should be easy to do, but I just can't figure it out for some reason. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help.
  23. The pins of the connection from input output board (1 to 6) to the A/D Board are shorten to the back casing. Isolating the caseing in this area whith tape solved the problem. nice mixing everyone M20D Rocks (pictures come later)
  24. Got my HX Stomp and as expected there is always going to be differences in the volume of the different factory presets as well as the many presets I’ve downloaded from the community site. Such differences of course would be expected say between a clean twin preset and a cranked metal tone. however the volume differences appear to be extremely different from one patch to the next. I spent a number of hours trying to normalize these, not to identical volumes, but to more appropriate volume differences between clean versus crunch versus distorted. at first I begin modifying amp distortion levels then channel volumes then master volumes, then pedal volumes...and lastly noted that additional volume changes could be made at the output. so... before I spend too many more hours, am I missing some major concept here - and if not is there a better way to be approaching more reasonable volume differences between patches. Many thanks, Jack
  25. I apologize if this topic already exists in the forum. I was searching on how to set up tone/volume in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. I didn't find the answer in Forum. My Spider V 30 is connected correctly to PC via USB and there is a sound of TL in Cubase. In Cubase, I choosed ASIO Spider V driver. I/O is Speder V (L&R) - Active. ASIO buffer Size is set to: Extra Small. I can record my TL from SpiderV 30 via USB and reproduce my records, too. It is not a problem, it works. But, quality of record is desperate and not acceptable, too. The sound is dark, blurry, somehow smudged and does not match what I hear on Spider V 30 while playing & recording. E.g effect as drive is not OK and corrupts the recorded. This is especially pronounced when I strumming all the strings. When I am playing finger style in clear sound or near clear, it is a better. It seams to me that solution is to set properly the tone on all devices in the chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. Acctually to set properly the tone/volume of input signal to PC or output signal from Spider V 30 via USB. When I am playing acoustic guitar via USB Audio Interface (UAI), I can adjust Input signal at UAI and all works fine. But at Spider V 30 there is not possibility to adjust Input signal. I can adjust tone at TL guitar as imput signal to SpiderV 30, but it changes a sound of guitar at SpiderV 30. Or I can reduce/decrease Master tone of SpiderV 30, but I can not hear what I am playing. Please, give me opinion regarding this topic. How to properly set up tone of all devices in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC? What are your experiences with this?
