  1. Hi everyone, I want to use my HX Stomp XL (HXSXL) as an effects unit-only (no amp simulation) with a Friedman IR-X preamp. Midi OUT of HXSXL is connected to MIDI IN of preamp. Presets of the preamp are stored/recalled using MIDI PC 1, 2, 3 etc (which can be programmed using the Friedman editor) I like to use 1 preset on the HXSXL with 4 snapshots, using snapshot mode I would like e.g. snapshot1 to turn a chorus effect on, on the clean channel of the preamp (MIDI PC 1) snapshot2 to turn the same chorus, but with the distorted channel of the preamp (MIDI PC 2) snapshot3 to turn the chorus off, with the distorted channel of the preamp and the boost turned on on the preamp (MIDI PC 3) I just don’t understand how to do that… Using the Command Center, I could assign a command to footswitch 5 (which normally turns snapshot1 on) : BankPC / Program 1 and the corresponding action for footswitch6 (snapshot2) and footswitch2 (snapshot3). Is that the way to do it ? (unfortunately I don’t have my gear here so I cannot even try). Basically all I want to do is use snapshot mode on the HXSXL, where each snapshot sends a controllable MIDI PC message to the Friedman. or should I assign an “Instant command” to snapshot1 ? Any help much appreciated! vincent
  2. Thanks a lot Dunedindragon and Schmalle for your help
  3. Thanks Schmalle for your reply. Looks like I bought the wrong controller...
  4. Hi everyone, the Engl Z12 midi controller has 10 switches, which I would like to use to switch between snapshots, turn blocks (e.g. effects) on/off... Has anybody here used this controller (or another Engl midi footcontroller) with the HX Stomp ?! Thanks Vincent
  5. Hi everyone, I have an HX stomp XL and I would like to use a midi footswitch controller with 5 switches Is it possible to - assign e.g. snapshot 1 of preset 10 to switch 1 of the midi switcher - assign e.g. snapshot 4 of preset 10 to switch 2 of the midi switcher - assign e.g. snapshot 2 of preset 12 to switch 3 of the midi switcher - assign an effect block (e.g. chorus) to switch 4 of the midi switcher - assign another block (e.g. FX send/return bypass) to switch 5 of the midi switcher ? In other words, is it possible to assign to any switch of my midi controller any snapshot (of any preset) set up on my HX Stomp ? I really like the HX Stomp XL, and I know that 4 footswitches is already a lot, but I wish I would have 5 footswitches aligned in front of me (e.g. CLEAN, CRUNCH, DISTO, SOLO, EFFECTS) thanks Vincent
  6. Hi Codamedia, thanks for your suggestion, yes I will check the 2203 out. To do what I wanna do, I am trying not to use extra overdrives pedals (models) - my goal is a have a "one amp" setup, with a consistent sound and different drive/gain settings.
  7. Hi everyone, I would like to use my HX Stomp (normal or XL, I own both) as a 3 channels-amp, with a channel 1 (snapshot 1) for CLEAN sounds, channel 2(snapshot 1) for CRUNCH sounds, and channel 3 (snapshot 3) for LEAD/HEAVY sounds.... Since I want to work with snapshot, I cannot change the amp model between snapshots. What is your favorite amp for such a configuration ?! I like the Brit2204, but it doesn't really get clean, even with low gain/drive. My goal is to have one preset for Guns 'n Roses songs (Marshall-y amp), one preset for Metallica songs (Recto-y amp), one preset for Van Halen (EVH-y) etc... Thanks ! Vincent
  8. Hi everyone, I just don't understand how I should use the headphones out on my HX Stomp... I just want to play and listen to my guitar using the headphones outlet. My headphones (JBL E55BT, the cable seems to have 4 connectors: tip-ring-ring-sleeve) are plugged into an adapter 3.5mm jack female to 6.35mm jack male... see pic If I plug the adaptor all the way into the headphones out of the HX Stomp, I don't get any sound at all in the headphones... To get some sound, I have to retract the adaptor a few millimeters out from the headphones out... I guess my headphones are the issue Any hint ?! Thanks Vincent
  9. Hi everyone, i own a HX Stomp and a HX Stomp XL Very often, after using the Stomp XL (rehearsal room) I export my presets/setlist using a computer and HX Edit. Then I import (at home) presets and setlist into my HX Stomp. Sofar it works OK, but i have noticed that: - when I import a HX Stomp XL preset into the HX Stomp, and then export the same preset, then all info related to the 4th snapshot gets lost... This is logical, since HX Stomp does not support a 4th snapshot. Still, I wish that the info about the 4th snapshot would stay in the exported preset .hlx file ! That would make it easier to move presets back and forth between HX Stomp and HX Stomp XL... Any idea how to solve this issue ?!
  10. Hi everyone, I use a particular block (e.g. "Optical trem") in many presets. I wish that, when I change a parameter (e.g. Speed) for that block in one preset , the change would be replicated in all other presets. Right now, if I found a better setting for my block ("Optical Trem"), I have to change the parameter(s) in all presets by hand, which is super cumbersome... Any idea ? Thanks Vincent
  11. Thanks a lot Datacommando, yes this is it !
  12. Hi everyone, usually on the HX Stomp XL the 4 snapshots are assigned to FS2 , FS3, FS5, FS6 My problem is that, when I try to step on FS5 or FS6, I hit one of the "front" switches, FS2 or FS3.... Is there a way I could assign snapshots to FS1, FS2 and FS3 (ideally also to the MODE footswitch) ? So that all my snapshots are assigned to the switches on the front part of the HX Stomp XL... See attachment Thanks ! Vincent
  13. Hi everyone, I am using an HX Stomp XL. I am using different presets for electrical guitar, clean sounds, crunch, distorted sounds, boosted distorted sounds for soli etc... Is there some guidelines as to how to set the levels (drive/ channel volume / master) so that the overall volume of my guitar's sounds remains consistent ? The sound engineer/ FOH also wishes to get a signal with not too much variations... I always find it difficult to judge by ear if the volume of my presets are consistent or not. Thanks for any idea ! Vincent
