  1. Hello! So I am playing a show in a few weeks, and I am currently running my helix to a powered speaker for monitoring (with a flat EQ of course). I am thinking about trying to send a signal with the same tone/eq/etc to FOH just so they can crank it in their monitors more. Am I overthinking this, or can I simply run a 1/4" cable to my speaker via 1/4" OUT L output, and run another 1/4" to XLR to the FOH via the 1/4" OUT R output? I am trying it with my interface, and the exact same tone is coming through both outputs (which is what I am looking for). Thanks!
  2. Hey guys, Today I walk through the various tones I used in my cover of the Ghost Song Cirice using the Line 6 Helix. I also walk through various aspects of the mix. Be warned, this one is a little long. I used Ownhammer Impulses all over this thing, from the clean tones to the bass. HEAVY GUITAR: The amp I used was the Line 6 Brit 2204 which is modeled after the Marshall JCM 800. I used Ownhammers OH 412 ENG v30 JS which is a mixed IR by Jon Symons DIRTY INTRO GUITAR: I used the Jazz Rivet 120 model with Ownhammer OH HHC2 SOAP FULL CLEAN INTRO: I used the US DOUBLE Nrm with Ownhammer OH HHC2 THOR FAT BASS: I used the SV Beast Brt with the Ownhammer OH 410 AMPG SVT-10 PORT The drums are from the great guys over at SilentUndergroundStudios and their backing tracks

POD HD PRO X No Sound

I was recording on my Pod hd pro x yesterday on my guitar(as i have countless of time before). Suddenly today it stops working. The device turns on and I can hear sound from my computer, but it won't get any signal from my guitar. Not even the tuner. I checked my guitar and the wires. I have no idea what happened or changed. I would really appreciate some direction.

    Power supply for XPS A/B

Hi, Hope someone can help... I recently bought a variax 500 - no problems with the guitar, powers fine by battery. The problem is that the A/B box does not supply power to the guitar. I suspect its because I have the wrong adapter - can anyone please confirm if its likely that? Symptoms: Plug in and the 1/4" and XLR lights operate fine Power lamp on the right does not illuminate. Plug in the guitar - no signal through to amp. Plug in guitar with battery - signal is fine. The adapter I got with the guitar: INPUT 230v ~/ 50hz/ 100ma and OUTPUT 5.2v=/ 1200ma I have seen that the line 6 power supply has a higher rated output - INPUT of 230z ~/ 50hz / 150mz and OUTPUT 9v=/ 2000ma 18va So, am I correct in thinking that the power supply I have is, at 7v output, just not hot enough and I need to buy an appropriate replacement? Many thanks! Craig

    Helix Guitar Tuner

Does anyone else experience lack of accuracy with the Helix on board tuner? I cant get a solid guitar tune with the Helix tuner at all. Below is a process of how I have checked them. On the helix, I have the tuner set to standard 440 pitch, and on my Boss TU-3 I have the same settings. The TU-3 accurately tunes my guitars, but the Helix is off by about -3cents on the some of the higher strings. There is no offsets, and the tuner is set to Guitar. Any ideas? Is this a known issue?

    About Writing Tablature

Greetings everyone, I started playing guitar a while ago, mainly I play the game songs I like. But some of the tablature of them cannot be found on the internet, so I have to use my ear to distinguish the note and write them on Guitar Pro, or Tuxguitar. (2 song writing software) I am quite sure that I have write correctly for every note of a song. But the problem is, I actually didn’t have basic music knowledge? (whole note, half note, 1/4 note, 1/8 note, 4/4 beat? etc.) And I don‘t know how to find the BPM of the song... So although I have written down all the notes of one game song I like in those software, and I press play button, I can only get standard 120bpm, 4 note per bar/phrase? at the same speed. I wish to make it right, what are the things I need to know to really produce a song? I will only export it as MIDI, and open in software for my own reference when I play guitar. Thanks in advance!

Bass player and a new/proud Helix owner!

Hi guys! I recently purchased a Line 6 Helix! After months of reading information online and also getting an amazing hands-on demo with a Line 6 representative in a music store close to home here in Melbourne, Australia! This unit cannot be praised enough in my opinion. I love how much color and variety its given my tone on the Dingwall and Its really refreshing seeing all of these regular firmware updates. Look forward to talking to you all over time. Best regards
  15. Am a session musician and although I play lots of instruments I play bass most of the time, I have one of the new James Tyler variax guitars and I must say its a vast improvement and is one of my must have guitars I take it everywhere. I personally would love you to do a new version of the variax bass to have one in my arsenal would make my life a lot more easy, Would love to hear all of your thoughts on the idea and what it must have for example sounds and the desine of the bass ?
  16. Hi All, Basically what i'm after is to be able to record 3x wet signals at the same time via a suitable audio interface into my DAW. Set up consists of a pod hd 500, Yamaha digital piano & electric drum kit. The main issue i've encounted while searching for a suitable interface is the lack of line inputs. I was looking at the Focusrite 6i6 as it's in my price range, but I was unsure how i'd connect all 3 instruments? I'd planned on running the pod hd500 in to the interface via the XLR Out on the pod to the line input of the audio interface (via XLR to TRS 1/4) here is the problem... the research I've done also recommends connecting the digital piano via the same set up (R ----- L\+R out to audio interface line input) & i'd like to run the same type of connection to the electric kit... Is this as simple as me having to fork out the extra cash for a higher end audio interface, or can I run these 3 instruments via a different set up into the audio interface? I'd even be happy being able to record 2 wet signals at once. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks :)
  17. Hey guys. I was inspired by a fresh set of strings and came up with this bass tone in Helix Rack. Hope it can help someone!
  18. So I know that similiar problems have been posted here in recently, but none of the fixes work for me. I recently got the POD studio UX2, and installed POD farm 2.5 on my PC, along with all the necessary drivers (line6 monkey and the hardware driver) and registration steps. Unfortunately, I am still not able to get the interface/software to pick up my guitar. I have both my recording and playback devices set to the interface, selected "instrument" on the POD farm input menu, have the UX2 selected in the hardware preferences tab, and my guitar/cable works through an amp. The interface is lit up (yellow/orange lights on), but the dials don't move at all. I also noticed that I am unable to hear any other sounds from my computer (youtube/Spotify), so I am not sure if this helps isolate the issue. At this point I have no idea what to do and am considering opening up a ticket. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks

    Cables

Not sure where to post this, so please move if appropriate. I'm wondering what folks recommend for guitar cables. I just use whatever is cheap at my local store. Is there a preferred professional choice of cable? Thanks, Shawn

More Signal Paths in Upcoming Helix Update

My experience with the Line 6 Helix has been overall positive, and I've thoroughly enjoyed being an owner. I still find new ways to implement it into my workflow as it truly is a versatile workhorse. But, not as much as it should be as, there are still areas i find it bizarrely incapable when it comes to signal routing. (Im going to keep these improvement pages simple so I'm starting with...) > Helix needs an option for splitting the left and right channels of a single stereo path into dual mono paths. i.e. For up to 8 mono paths, instead of a maximum of 4 stereo paths. > Stereo paths separated into mono paths will allow for each channel to be processed individually. > An added benefit to having separate channels processed individually would be, you wouldn't have to have one effect running into another, in series, and instead have multiple effects running in parallel for clearer and cleaner sounds that could then be blended together to taste. > Separated channels makes Helix more powerful when it comes to mono signals, as you can have a single inputs with up to four individually controlled parallel voices. > Alternatively, you could have 4 independent input/output channels versus the mandatory, original "one shared stereo channel for paired inputs and outputs(which often holds me back from implementing Helix's effect blocks when using it as an 8 in/ 8 out channel recording interface)" > There will be no waste of one of your 8 ins/ 8 outs, like before when using a stereo channel for mono. > As with any 8 channel mixer, the possibilities really do become endless. > You can help bring attention to this here ... https://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea-v2/902419 Every DAW I've worked out of has had this essential option and Line 6 Helix is lacking in power, flexibility and, ultimately, capability without it. I was surprised to find this option missing from this device and I'd be less surprised had i not been promised an 8 in/8 out multi effects device. Never have i requested 8 tracks from a DAW and been given four inseparable channels paired in stereo. Many users, especially bassists, will benefit from the ability to have separately controlled, independent parallel mono voices, as myself, and other studio workers i know, keep single sound sources in mono anyway and find no need for a stereo channel on a bass or guitar. Its cumbersome not to be able separate the channel into a separate voicing, and routings quickly get complicated and take unnecessary space when I routinely have to do so many workarounds to a simple issue. Having the channel separate, like on a mixer, is a simple solution to a simple problem, without a complicated workaround, that opens many more possibilities in signal processing. While I have the ability to route Helix's paired USB outputs into my DAW via separate mono input channels, as is customary with any digital audio workstation, i find it both perplexing and limiting as to why i can't process each signal separately within the Helix itself. If i could, then it would take so many other pieces of gear out of the equation and without this option i feel like I'm not being able to fully utilize the Helix's processing power. Stereo tracks being separated to mono would benefit not to fill each path with more effects, but to not be unnecessarily limited with how signals are routed. Picture four separate effects running in parallel blended together, instead of having them fed into each other, and imagine the difference in sound and possibilities that would make. Users, like myself, who appealed to the adverts of Helix being able to take the power of their studio sounds on the road, and vice versa, will appreciate this greatly. The Helix already has the design to accommodate four signals paths, the spillover for the next four paths just needs to be placed on a separate page as is typical with the effect parameters pages. The benefits are seemingly endless, only being limited by how creative you could be with it, instead of being stuck to the factory setting. Even single effect blocks running in parallel vs in series would be a large improvement versus having each effect fed into another. This will open a new world of infinite possibilities when it comes to Helix signal routing and how users will create patches. Multiple Inputs

Hey guys. Wondering if I can input a microphone in addition to my guitar so I can use it for some beatboxing while looping?

  25. Hi all For the last few years my preferred alternative to an amp has been to play my guitar through my PC using a Line 6 FBV Express MK II pedal with a Line 6 UX1 (Pod Studio) with Pod Farm 2. It's even great but my FBV is now intermittently faulty. This kit has been around for quite a few years now. Can anyone suggest a new set up giving me the same flexibility in the same sort of price range please? I need to be able to have amp sims and effects through my PC with the ability to change effects with some sort of floorboard. I'm happy to look for another second hand FBV Express MK II but if anyone can suggest a newer improved set up that would be great. Also are there any other floorboards that can bu used with my UX1 (Pod Studio)? Thanks all!
