  1. I recently entered a little group gigging in bars, every member enters into a mixer then out to speakers to the public, i would like to add my Headrush FrfR 108 to monitor my sound, what's the best connections to be made? Last night i tried Left Out to Headrush and Amp Out to the mixer but i'm not satisfied, the volume knob on the Pod Go worked only on Headrush and for some reason i was too low on the mixer with track on max! I know that i could connect Left out to Headrush and than through the Headrush to the mixer too (PodGO-->Headrush-->Mixer) it's a better option? Some other advices?
  2. Short introduction. Hi, we're Becksteetsj (.wordpress.com). Were an amateur band producing different types of music with a consistance of four bandmembers playing in varying compositions and sometimes with guest musicians. Our goal is to have fun en joy! Started with Line 6 with a spider II 15w. Great amp, but speaker to weak for me. Learned it. Loved it. Eventually sold it, to ... Eventually upgraded to a spider III 30w. Great amp. Learned it. Love it. Double-graded with a spider IV 30w next to my III. Even greater. Love this one to. Still slightly learning, and therefore my question. Both used for playing. The III in my livingroom for jamming. And the IV in my studio, both used to record with speaker (mic-ed) or directly plugged in. But i still have a question about the storaging pre-sets on this IV. There are four knobs. On my II & III i could store 4 pre-sets over 4 amp-models. Keep pushed till it is set, simple. But this IV reacts different, after blinking (as on II&III) i then a/b/c/d start blinking together and i can select 1 of 4 (this is new to me). Looks to me that i can store 4 pre-sets for each amp-model? Am i thinking right? 4 pre-sets on 6 amp-models = 24 pre-sets? Or do i still have 4 pre-sets over all 6 amp-models? Or 4 times 4 = 16?? Thank you in advance for your help.
  3. I'm currently splitting my signal with a boss oc-3 into the helix and I have it set on the range setting where it only picks up the lower notes, I would like to switch over completely to the helix. Is there any ways to achieve this same effect?
  4. 1) I've been getting a lot of replies from people who are evidently not understanding the simplicity of my question and in turn makes me wonder if they are actually using the Powercab in the manner that they think they are. I get the more complicated stuff. My question is 'simple': What are people/users (including Hindmarsh and Line 6 instructions) meaning by "normal", "amp in the room", and "air moving" - and why do they all have different settings? I thought the terms meant the same thing. Check out the following Line 6/Hindmarsh vid. If you skip to 2:24 he plainly explains the settings (flat mode and LF Raw) for achieving "traditional guitar speaker" behavior. Then skip to 2:54 and he plainly explains settings (speaker mode) to achieve "traditional amp in the room experience". What's the difference? I thought they were the same thing. 2) On the more technical side - I've been advised differently but I'm pretty sure if I'm using Flat mode/LFRaw (which I 'think' is my personal end goal), I still have to put a cab or IR in the Helix chain or it's going to sound horrible - same as before having the PC+ - right? . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7yIZnYeXmQ
  5. Looking for help from the Helix collective. Being a HX Stomp owner I feel a little left out. Yes, I am starting on the low side of the technology by using a Stomp and not currently any of the higher models such as the LT etc. But this is my first dive into using digital amps and effects. So far I am loving it. I use a Roland Gr-55 Synthesizer, though dated-Still has lots to offer. One option I like with the presets on the GR-55, is that I can break them out into text. Basically, you get text that shows the mod or effect and breaks out the settings. Example You'd see "Distortion - ON, Tone - 5, Boost 7, Level - 3" Question is, Is there a similar way to display the makings of a Helix Preset? This way, one could dissect some of the presets from the upper level modelers and try to make them work on the Stomp! Thanks in advance for any input.
  6. Hi is there a way of setting up the Helix Stomp EQ for a Preset. I'm trying to set up a preset for a bass but, when i change any eq module in the edit the eq graphics in cubase don't show much change at all. For example if i use high/low cut instead of doing a cut the eq don't appear to be a cut at all.
  7. I just picked up a Mission ep-1 and set up the wha in Helix Native to engage when I step on it but it takes until it's at 50% engaged before it turns on. Is there a way to set it to start much earlier? FYI when I tried it with the TH-U Slate wha it works as expected... instantly. Thanks. Leroy

  9. When Studio One is in Low Latency Monitoring mode, parameter changes are not passed to Helix Native v1.90+ until LLM is disabled. Firstly, Helix Native is stable and functions normally in Studio One as well as any other VST3/ AU host. Studio One’s Low Latency Monitoring mode is different in that it keeps a plugin’s processing active, while Low Latency mode in other DAWs such as Logic and Pro Tools bypass plugins that incur latency above a certain threshold. This mode is only used during tracking, and while edits made to Helix Native in this state don’t take effect, Helix Native does process audio and allows tracking with low latency. If Helix Native parameter changes are desired, toggle the low latency monitoring option.
  10. Hi... I'm using HX Effects running into a tube amp. This is probably on a forum somewhere but I couldn't really find it so thanks in advance for your patience. Can someone give me some advice on making a block to get a reasonable facsimile of an acoustic guitar? Sort of a like a Boss AC-3 pedal? It would really be cool if line 6 just added that pedal to the next update... Thanks!
  11. Hi all. I've been really searching for a list of the input impedances of the effects in the helix. I believe there is one in somewhere. Just want to know if any of you have a list of the values of the input impedance for each effect when helix is set to auto. Thanks in advance
  12. I think it would be cool if there were a global setting that allowed for six snapshots. With this setting enabled, the mode button would be used as a three way toggle between preset, pedal board, and snapshot modes. Update 2.80?
  13. Anyone know where to find written presets not downloads. I would rather dial it in then try to hook up my Flextone II to my pc. I just finally got a floorboard and want to set up some good tones.
  14. Going to start of by saying Not my first day with the Helix. "Looking for answers". From day one I have been running my Helix 4 cable + Midi control to my JVM 410HJS. Have Used the Chrome Wah with no issues and the sound has been great. I have wanted to Start running the Helix to FOH for some smaller gigs. (Note)Our rehersal space is set up just like we play on stage. So I am running the ANGL Amp And a IR for cab. Have everything sounding great untill I engage the Wah. Then it goes to crap. Sounds horrible. It is shrill and not usable and unrealistic sounding. I have tried every wah in the system tried changing the sweap, hi cut, every adjustment I can without adding another EQ just set up for the wah and not shure that will even work. Looking for guidance on what may be causing it. I need the amp sound close to the same tone when engaged but with a normal wah sound. Thanks
  15. In Global settins>midi/tempo> theres a setting for duplicate PC send. Whats this for?
  16. Hi everyone! I am a begginer with PODHD 500x, that's why I need your help. I dowloaded differents patches from the LINE 6 website, and when I tried them at home everything worked fine. When I went to play with my band in our small room, I attached the POD direct in front of a combo (LINE 6 SPIDER IV - CLEAN). Problem is that when I play a distorted patch, it start to whistle and make unsupportable noise. I read on http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/setup This that I report: "I recommend setting your output mode to the appropriate non-"Studio/Direct" mode. If you want to use your Pod for both "direct" and "live" purposes, I recommend leaving the output mode as "Studio/Direct" and setting your "live" patches up with "no cab" as your cabinet selection. When you use "no cab", you get the same output in every output mode (more-or-less) - all cab/mic simulation is simply disabled. " Now what I would like to try is to set INPUT 1: GUITAR and INPUT 2: VARIAX for all the patches; And then I would like to put this "no cab" suggested, but I don't really understand how to do this. About the "mixer" Path A and Path B should be Centered ? Or should I leave it 100%R and 100%L? May you help me through this? Any other reccomandations?
  17. Hi, I tried to connect my helix via xlr direct into the m20d (also tried into L3t and from L3t out into the m20d). There was quite a bit of clipping going on even though the meter was not showing any clipping. I wanted to to trim (using the auto trim option in m20d) but the mixer could not adjust saying "signal too hot". It is a bit weird since I did not have the impression I played very loud. In the helix I did just update to firmware 2.2 and all global settings are on "default". The xlr out is set to line level. The big volume know was set to the middle position. Very strange. Anybody has experience with that? Tks Markus
  18. Ok, so I love my amps. I own a vintage AC30, Marshall Valvestate and actually thinking about getting the Mesa Boogie TC-100. Currently, I am using a Firehawk. I am thinking of upgrading to the Helix. I play in a cover band with quite a number of people. Sometimes bigger venues, but mostly small stages. So I would be playing my amps in some cases (preferably WDW, 4/7/10 cable), but in most cases probably use FOH directly from the Helix. So here's my questions: Are the presets of the Helix much better quality than the Firehawk? Is there an easy way to create presets that would allow me to toggle between playing on my amps and FOH? (I dread creating the same presets in different banks and keeping them synched) How does WDW work when sending the signal FOH? I have both a normal mono output guitar ánd a guitar with stereo output. Is there a way to use three input signals? Or do I have to use a splitter before the input? Any guidance of experienced users or Line6 would be great.
  19. Hallo, I hope I can help you with this informations for using the Helix with the Bogner ATMA. You just have to connect the ATMA to the Helix with a 6,3 mm Stereo Jack: NO SIGNAL = ATMA KANAL 2 (CRUNCH) 2 (RING) = ATMA KANAL 3 (LEAD) 1 (TIP) = ATMA KANAL 1 (CLEAN) Ulrich
  20. Hallo to you all. First of all I ask you to forgive me for my not at all perfect English, I'm Italian. I'm trying to set the friend of mine's "POD xt live" "Insane" distortion like the "Insane" distortion of my "Spider II" because he is literally fallen in love with it  [like me, besides (maybe wrong term)...]. The set is near completion but don't sound like the "Insane with green led on" (instead red led on) of my "Spider II". Nothing more. I hope some of you can help me and I add the fact that I already tried to switch on the "Stomp" pedal but without any significant outcome/result. Thanks! Max
  21. I am a new user to Helix and after my first patch set up everything sounds great execpt the wah! I have set up on a footswitch for on/off but the expression pedal (which I have set up for volume) only controls volume and not the wah itself. I have messed with the many settings to no avail. I need to wah to be turn on with a footswitch and once on that mode the expression pedal controls ONLY the Wah, once I click out then expression pedal goes back to a volume control. Help anyone? Thank you!!!
  22. So I've been playing guitar for a few years now, but I never really got around to learning how to make the "perfect" patch or sound for me, and honestly I still get lost when it comes to finding a good sound. I know about this^ website providing patches from other users, but honestly they sound good until you start playing with other instruments. I own a Schecter Blackjack SLS with the Floyd Rose and Sustaniac, with a Seymour Duncan TB-10 Full Shred Humbucker on the Bridge. I play at my church so I would really appreciate if someone could help me out on figuring out a sound that would sound good with this guitar and also sound good live. I will be plugged into the system, not an amp. Next week is my church's anniversary so I want to have a really good sound by then, for those that decide to help me, I am trying to look the basics, a clean patch, rhythm patch, and a solo patch, and for those that have experience with playing at a church, i am not looking for a sound like hillsong, at our church we like to play a little more "rock." Thanks.
  23. Hi all, I have questions around the optimal settings. Goal is to use the helix with my JVM 410h using the 4cm. I am also the singer in the band. So my goal is it to configure path 1a, 1b and 2 a in serial. Input is guitar in and output is 1/4 out. For 2 b input is mic in and outputs are xlr outputs. Let me compare this with my experience around the GT 10. 1. To align the different output levels of my guitars I would like to set different general input levels on the helix. So e.g. I would like to set the general input level to -5 db. How and where can I do this? In gt 10 3 general Input settings can be configured for input level and even eq. 2. Setting up the right path configuration as mentioned above, I have to configure this obviously using different splitters and mixers. Goal is to use 1a, 1b and 2 a for guitar completely in series. How do I have to do this? My experience is that 1a and 2a in series are working well. If I use also 1b the overall level gets quieter ?! I don't know why. 3. Level for send and return. On my Amp the setting is set to -10 DB, I set the send and return level to 100% to 0 DB. In comparison to the original level this seems to be the best setting. Your experience and recommendation? 4. Output Level: Setting the volume knob to max seems to be the best setting or better to configure the 1/4 output not to use the volume knob. In comparison to the original level this seems to be the best setting. On GT 10 I set the volume knob to 1 o'clock and the the general output level to -10 db according to the input level on the amp. Your experience and recommendation? 5. Foot switches: Snapshots are nice. In Some Cases it could make sense to enable e.g. a stomp box witch you will use in all snap shots from the moment you enable it. Is this possible ? So my main issues right know are 1 and 2. Hope you can help me. Thanks! George
  24. good evening. does anybody know if a chart with all the default settings (effects & co.) exist for POD XTs? something like below: preset comp (gate) stomp mod delay cab/ a.i.r. 2A off off off off on 2B on on on off on 2C on off off off off 2D off off off off on i'd need that to program better a Behringer FCB1010 UnO and, due to midi messages exchange, i need to know which ones are active in each preset, to avoid sending every midi message at changing bank/preset.
  25. Im using four cable method with my Fender Bassbreaker. Anything i need to know? Specifically...do I need to turn down the levels on the Return on the loop and should I set it as Instrument out or Line Out? In short, I don't want to overload anything. Thanks
