  1. I've been experimenting with using MIDI expression pedals on synths I'm triggering with my guitar and have a MIDI foot controller into the MIDI IN of the Helix. I have the expression pedal set to CC1 which is Modulation Wheel and I can see (using MIDI Monitor on my Mac) that is sending just that (using Helix's MIDI Thru) and it is properly moving the mod wheel on a soft synth. Great. The problem is it is ALSO controlling any Helix patches with a Volume Pedal so when I pedal down the mod wheel (to its origin) it also turns the volume pedal all the way down on the patch. I tried moving it to another block but it still is affected. If I turn it off I can see the ghosted version going up and down but it doesn't affect the volume. Anyone aware of this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi, I'm enjoying the LT very much. Thought I would share my MIDI control mapping for the Helix LT now that version 3.15 includes control of the encoders. Hope it's helpful! Nick Helix LT CC Mapping (For version 3.15).pdf
  3. Good afternoon I would like to control global volume (like turning manually the big weel on top of Helix) using a CC# managed by a pedal. I haven't found the correct CC# Anyone Could help me ? Many thanks in advance Marco
  4. Hello all, Does anyone know if there is a MIDI CC code to mimic a push on view button of the HX stomp ? Thanks
  5. Hi everybody, not sure if this is the right forum, but anyway: I have been trying to remote my Helix with Cubase (Pro, 9.5) an ran into different problems. My setup is like that: We are a band with guitar (me), keyboards, and bass. Drums are programmed in Cubase with Addictive Drums and the like (on an iMac in the studio, on a MacBook Pro when playing live). Everything is nearly complete »virtual«, guitar via Helix, bass via POD X3, and keyboards all into the mixer into an 6x headphone amp. So we can practice nearly silent alltogether except the vocals anyway. In Cubase I have not only the drum tracks but also some playbacks for vocals, guitars, fx etc. For live playing, I have set up »long« Cubase tracks which contain up to 9 songs each, one after the other. I can navigate between those different segments by using »cycle markers«, which are mapped to keyboard numbers 1-9. So if I press »4« on the keyboard, Cubase jumps to the beginning of song 4, pressing »space« starts the playback. This is very, very handy. See picture. Now I had been thinking of remote controlling my Helix (connected via USB) by setting up an extra MIDI-part for every »song-segment« going out to the Helix. In this part I have (momentarily) only two controllers: one »Program Change« that sends a PC message to switch between Helix presets, and one controller »cc57« that toggles footswitch 10 in stomp mode on the Helix. Footswitch 10 is always assigned to a kind of distortion/boost fx on the Helix, used for guitar solos etc. So, when I jump to a »song« via keyboard, the Helix should the select the correct preset at first, and when it comes to my solo part and »cc57« jumps from somewhere below 64 to somewhere over 64, footswitch 10 should be activated … and when my solo part is over (and »cc57« jumps under 64) it should be de-activated. So all I send to the Helix is a Program Change and a controller message. AND IT WORKS! BUT the following problems occur: 1. When I press the space bar (start/stop) inbetween a song segment, footswitch 10 toggles as well, regardless of the »cc57« value. So it inverts the state of the footswitch, making it »de-activated« when it should be activated. 2. When I press the space bar inbetween two songs, the Helix becomes completely MUTED (no sound). When I jump to the next (or another) song start, Helix gets unmuted and live again. This might by useful for live situations but is not wanted here. What am I doing wrong? Footswitch 10 is set to »toggle« … »latching« does not work anyway. Cubase is set up to use continuous controlling and event following. Thanks in advance, best regards Opti/Alex
  6. Hey, Came across a weird midi snag which has only occurred on one preset (so far). I've got around it but I would love to know what was causing it if anyone can help. I've set up automation from Ableton using CC69 to change snapshots and PC messages select presets. It's fantastic. Just one of my presets did not want to behave. The PC message selected the preset but... at the beginning of the song, with the CC69 demanding snapshot 1; the light on the helix was indicating snapshot 2 with the actual sound being kind of snapshot 1 but with some differences. As the song progressed and other snapshots were demanded, the sound changed but the indication remained on snapshot 2. My fault diagnosis: I've tried a different midi track which works perfectly on another preset and got the same results. I saved a different preset into the offending preset's slot and it works perfectly. I saved a backup copy of the offending preset into the slot and it misbehaves. Therefore, there is something wrong with this preset and I can't even begin to imagine what could be wrong with a preset to make it not like midi. I've got around the issue by just creating a new preset, I just want to understand. Any ideas? To reiterate... there is nothing wrong with the midi implementation, I've proved this by substituting other presets. It is the preset at fault... somehow. Oh, and I'm on latest firmware etc. PSA the offending preset if anyone wants to take a look. Thanks Shut up & dance.hlx
  7. Hey There! Love love love my Helix. However, I noticed a feature that I REALLY need regarding the Midi CC Command for footswitches. There is no Dim Value for these which is problematic. I'm trying to control my Boss RC-505 looper through Midi and it works great EXCEPT it will only fire the the first time. Any subsequent commands are permenentaly stuck at whatever MIDI value I sent it rather than going back to zero so it can reset for the next command firing. If I can get a DIM value, like on the Midi Toggle but for the Momentary MIDI CC command that would really make my rig a dream come true. I figure that'd be an easy thing to add in a future update but I could be wrong. What are the chances of that happening?
  8. I have two MIDI foot controller devices which have FIXED MIDI CC numbers for each stomp. Namely ActitioN and the IK BlueBoard. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-NATIVE-Snapshot-Control-support-MIDI-pedals-with-FIXED-CC/938764-23508?submitted=1#idea-tab-comments Trouble is the SNAPSHOTS feature in HM 2.6 uses a FIXED CC value - CC#69 follows by a Value 0-7 for each snapshot. So say i want to use 4 stomps for SNAPSHOT 1-4 - my foot controller sends four DIFFERENT FIXED CC values ! I use Ableton - so initially had a look for MAX4LIVE devices that can remap one CC to another - but found none that could remap the different CC values ( 76-79 in my case ) to 69 - while at the same time setting VALUE to 0 when I send 76, 1 for 77, 2 for 78 and 3 for 79. So my attempt to use MAX4LIVE MIDI conversion add ons failed. What we really need is a way in HN to either have a LEARN function so to change snapshots we can use the CC values of our choice ( and ignore value ) OR.... have a built-in CC remapping facility page where HN automatically transforms incoming ( different ) CC values to 69 and the appropriate value. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HELIX-NATIVE-Snapshot-Control-support-MIDI-pedals-with-FIXED-CC/938764-23508?submitted=1#idea-tab-comments
  9. Hey guys! Having a MIDI problem with my Helix/Roland RC505 looper. Trying to send a CC to turn channel 1 on the RC505 on/off, which I've done with other devices. Have set the appropriate channel (1) and MIDI CC#1 to a switch, and it's not working. However, when I switch to CC Toggle mode, it will send the note only with a toggle and turn the channel on, which is not economical for my purposes - just wanna be able to turn my "chorus" guitar sound on while also turning the right channel on! Thanks for any help. :)
  10. Hi guys, I've got a question for you. Since this is my first post on this forum I'd like to introduce myself: I am Fed, a guitarist, mixing and mastering engineer from the North of England. I am setting up a live rig with my band: a MacBook running Logic Pro X that controls our lighting system, backing tracks, my Fractal Ax8 and my guitarist's Helix LT. I've read the entire manual, done a bit of trial and error and I've managed to setup all the CC/PC and everything works properly until I move the playhead in Logic (both with the mouse or the hotkeys). Each time I move the playhead the Helix goes on tuning mode, the next time it turns off the tuning mode (and go on and on) without any apparent reason. If I save the Logic project, close the project, open it again and I start it from the top without stopping or moving the playhead at all it works fine, but the first time that I move the playhead it start to act crazy again. Are there some settings I need to change? Has someone got this problem and know how to solve it? What am I doing wrong? I can do a video if it helps you to understand, thank you in advance!
  11. good evening. does anybody know if a chart with all the default settings (effects & co.) exist for POD XTs? something like below: preset comp (gate) stomp mod delay cab/ a.i.r. 2A off off off off on 2B on on on off on 2C on off off off off 2D off off off off on i'd need that to program better a Behringer FCB1010 UnO and, due to midi messages exchange, i need to know which ones are active in each preset, to avoid sending every midi message at changing bank/preset.
  12. Hi, I am with a company designing a custom midi controller that we wanted to have work with the M9. We are using Arduino to implement the controller. I have the looper doing play/stop and record via midi, all of which work great. When I tried to implement overdubbing, the M9 does not respond. I am sending a midi control change message with controller number 50 and a value of 0 on channel 1. I have tested this by sending the midi message to Abelton, which recieves it correctly and verifies this is what is being sent. I have also tried implementing it via Arduino's midi library and via their serial.write sending the message manually. I checked the midi input in setup as well, and have tried it both as channel 1 and omni. Another weird thing is that when the M9 is in record mode and receives this message it goes into playing while overdubbing, but once the M9 is playing the message does nothing. Really unsure what is wrong here unless our M9 is just defective, I have exhausted every other factor of error I can think of. I am going off the midi controls listed in the manual here: http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f0593fca717b/application/pdf/M9%20Advanced%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf We are on a deadline to have this working so any help is very much appreciated. Thanks!

  14. Hello I am trying to implement a channel change in Ableton Live 9.5 with M9, i.e to make M9 send some MIDI program change or another message that will switch between the channels. I tried using the MIDI mapper to assign Scene Change mesages from M9 to the Session Recording buttons (works perfectly with KEY mapping and a normal computer keyboard). However all I'm getting is a weird mapping interpreted as Pitchbend messages (see attached image). When trying it out nothing really happens. In the M9 Advanced Manual there is a MIDI map for scene select in Appendix A but I can't say I understand it: Scene Select Memory Location Program Change # Scene Selected Scene 1A (Fldr 1; 3) 0 (Fldr 1); 12 (Fldr 3) 1A (Fldr 1); 1A (Fldr 3) Scene 1B (Fldr 1; 3) 1 (Fldr 1); 13 (Fldr 3) 1B (Fldr 1); 1B (Fldr 3) Scene 2A (Fldr 1; 3) 2 (Fldr 1); 14 (Fldr 3) 2A (Fldr 1); 2A (Fldr 3) ... Any suggestions how to go on about this? Yuval
  15. Hi! I'm trying to configurate my FCB1010 (UnO chip) with the software but i can't really make it work with my gear (Pod Hd Pro X). Do you have any guide that could help me? (already checked on the UnO website and also on Line 6 forums but unfortunately i didn't find something that helped me) or maybe a working Sysex file for the Pod HD Pro X (or also the Hd Pro) that i can send to my Fcb1010 ?? Many thanks in advance to everyone!! :)
  16. Hi guys, Trying to sort out reaper sending midi CC's to my Pod to turn effects on and off. We run backing tracks from Reaper live and I want to use CC51 + to turn on and off blocks. I can do this fine. Problem is when our drummer skips through the set list on reaper I have to reset the patch on the pod as the effects turn on and off depending on the last state. Any way I can send say, CC51 Velocity 127 for effect on, and CC51 Velocity 0 for effect off? OR is there any other work around for this apart from resetting the patch each time? Cheers Ash
  17. Hi! I am a brand new DT25 user. After 10 years without any guitar playing I have restarted it (played guter for 25 years). The DT25 is a amazing little box and I was extremly surprised about what Line6 did in the past years. I struggle with the control of the different Amps and their different Volume Level hat makes it pretty difficult to just use a Midi Floorboard to change between Models. I don´t want to use a HD500 because of size, price and complexity even if it is not that complex to hook it up. Maybe it is the "Guys, I have already payed for the Preamp and I don´t need more!" A solution for me is to use the Midi Event Processor Plus from Midi Solutions. Ive got a used one cheap and I can map 32 CC Events to Program Changes. 32 are enough to switch between actual 5 to 10 Amps (Sounds) plus Volume plus some slight tone control changes. For me it is mostly the presence value. Yes it works fine and the little box can be easily programmed if the CC values are available. I check it with DTEdit plus the Midi OX to analyze (send output A to input B) But if I need, or better want to change a CC setting, I have to attach it to the PC and re-programm the CC setting. Ok for home usage. But not if you go to a differnet location for jamming / playing. You have to reconfigure at least bass, presence and volume to match the locations requirements. To save a new volume level to a program change....... Cool would be a controller with PrgChg to CC Change mapping plus 2 or 3 knobs to map these settings to. Okok, you can use a Behringer DAW Controller for example but the key is something small, easy, cheap. Ok, different world but maybe therer is a solution. Maybe Line 6 accept that some users (and I read tons of similar requests, topics in the communities) want to keep it small and sinple. Maybe they come with a small controller without preamp and effects, Different world again :-) So again - I would appreciate your ideas, solutions, products (if this is allowed within a Line6 portal). Cheers, Peter
  18. Hi, Hoping for some answers here. Just got an HD500x. Is there a way to assign midi cc to a stomp switch w/o having to select an effect onboard. I want to trigger each of my analog stomp boxes looped thru my voodoo labs pedal switch with a button on the HD500x. Is there a way to do this? As near as I can tell, I can only do this with the tap, looper, and toe switch. Please advise. Thanks.
  19. For those getting started with a POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 device and following through the Ableton Live Lite 7 tutorial, there has been some inquiries of confusion regarding page 5/12 in the starting tutorial. There is reference to the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Controller Mapping preferences menu page; if you continue reading down the tutorial, you'll see that this particular section refers to setting up a Line 6 KB37 (UX2 + MIDI keyboard controller) for Ableton MIDI CC mapping assignment. The POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 is not a MIDI controller device whatsoever; the only two parameters that appear in the Audio-MIDI menu are for Footswitch 1 & 2 assignments only. The inclusion of this content is specific to KB37 owners wishing to try out Live Lite 7. We apologize for any confusion in the documentation to POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 new users.
  20. Q: Can I change presets via a MIDI Continuous Control (CC) in the Gearbox program? A: No, but you can control most of the other functions in gearbox by referring to the GearBox Continous Control (CC) MIDI list attached to this document. You will need to know how to program your external MIDI Control device control knob/swtich to the corresponding MIDI CC value for the parameter GearBox you wish to control. gearbox midi cc.pdf
