  1. Hi guys, does anyone use Firehawk as a bass multifx unit? I play guitar and bass and in the latter case I run a Tech 21 or a Bass Pod XT in the fx loop, but I always wonder why Line 6 doesn't add its fine Bass models to the Firehawk app (which from my point of view doesn't sound like a titanic venture), so it would be a more complete product. What do you think?
  2. Any rumours or news about a FHFX upgrade to a newer model? Getting a little frustrated by the lack of updates and support from Line 6, so I’m hoping there may be a new model coming out between the pricier Helix and this one??
  3. Hey guys and girls, Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. Is the Firehawk FX power supply ok to also power an Xotic SL Drive pedal at the same time (the polarity is the same, hot sleeve)? It would be helpful to not have to set up another ps onstage. Many thanks S
  4. The firehawk used to connect to older ipads having lightning port using the Camera connection kit and you could use the same to record in Garageband on iOS. How to achieve the same for the newer generation iPad Pro's which have the usb c port? Also, apple no longer sells the camera connection kit for iPad's.
  5. When I have the Firehawk FX played into my amp, it sounds great. Love it. But when I plug in my headphones (into the Firehawk), it sounds crappy. Decent headphones, too. Sounds the same plugged into headphone output of the amp. I know that it won't sound the same in the headphones as from the live amp, but it sounds pretty thin and bad. 1) is there some switch or setting I'm missing? 2) is that crappy tone what I'll get if I plug it into an FRFR (or PA, or laptop)? 2a) or do I need to set up my patches so they sound good in the headphones, even though it might not sound as good in my live amp? 3) I've played with the patches and can't seem to make anything sound good in the headphones. Just sounds like there's no amp or cabinet modeling or anything. Sounds like what I heard in my phone's back before I had the Firehawk, which leads me back to question 1... Thanks!
  6. I have a Firehawk FX. Generally happy with the tones, although the lag switching patches live requires creativity. My existing amp is starting to die, so I'm looking for a new one. Should I get a new line6 modeling amp (and control foot board), or just another regular amp? I'm not concerned with "it must sound exactly like this", and more just making cool tones that I like (and sometimes sound a lot like the songs I'm covering). So I'm that regard, having a regular amp paired with the Firehawk FX has been ok, even though I know I'm not getting the exact tone that's being modeled, at least I can get sounds I like to play. In retrospect I wish I had bought a (TBD) amp and foot controller instead of the fire hawk, but since I already have the money sunk... So do I buy a new modeling amp and foot controller and sell the Firehawk? Or just buy a new regular amp?

  8. Can you access Noise Gate and Chorus on board without using App?
  9. The overall volume is the Master Volume control. This is controlled by the "big knob" when the LEDs are red (the default state). All of the other volumes happen before this one and it's ultimately how you control the output level while keeping everything relatively balanced by using all of the other controls. This is a global control. The Guitar Volume happens just before the master and is how you balance the guitar level against the Bluetooth streaming audio that is coming into the unit. This is also a global control and is accessed by pressing the big knob until the LEDs are white. The Channel Volume is like a Master for just the amp, and it is stored with the patch. It adjusts the output level without affecting the tone (like the Gain control on the amps would). This is the control you use to level your presets relative to each other. The slightly quirky thing here is that it does live in the amp processing slot, so it happens in the signal chain before the post effects. In v1.1 firmware and later, pressing the big knob until the LEDs are pink acts as a short cut to accessing this control without the app. The Gain on the amp panel is the per-patch parameter that affects the tone of the amp - also referred to as Drive The Volume Pedal is an additional real-time control whose value is not saved with the patch. You can see in the app where it lives in the signal path. The Master control on HD amps is considered a deep edit parameter (like sag, hum, etc.) that is saved with the patch and is exclusive to HD amps. It's the output level of the preamp to the power amp. When you load one of these models, the stored value is right for that amp in the default state and it's usually best to leave it where it is unless you are going for a very specific effect.

A: For troubleshooting steps about Bluetooth connectivity and usage, check out our Bluetooth Connectivity FAQ HERE. Q: What should I do If I am experiencing connection issues with the FIREHAWK 1500 Remote app when I switch back and forth between apps on my iOS device? A: An important thing to note about the FIREHAWK Remote app functionality is that in addition to the iOS Bluetooth connection between your FIREHAWK and your iOS device, there is a secondary 'sync' connection between the amp and the app. Each time you minimize/close the app, the connection between the FIREHAWK Remote app and the FIREHAWK will need to be re-established, even if your iOS device is reporting that the FIREHAWK is connected via 'Bluetooth'. In this case, re-opening the FIREHAWK Remote app will automatically re-establish the connection within a few seconds. Make sure to look at the main menu of the FIREHAWK Remote app and wait for it to indicate that your FIREHAWK is 'connected' before moving forward using the app. If it does not automatically re-connect, close the FIREHAWK Remote app by double-tapping your iOS home key, then sliding the FIREHAWK Remote app window up and off the screen. Relaunch the FIREHAWK Remote app and it should re-sync itself with the FIREHAWK . Android devices usually have a function that lists all open programs where you can slide the app left or right to close it. Relaunch the FIREHAWK Remote app and it should re-sync itself with the hardware. Q: Can the FIREHAWK Remote App stream songs that are stored in the cloud and not on my mobile device? A: No. The FIREHAWK Remote App can only play back songs that are stored on your mobile device. Within the FIREHAWK Remote App settings, you can enable 'Hide Songs Not On Device' so that you only see songs that are stored on your mobile device when playing music from your Library. The Android app does not have this setting, but still only plays back songs stored on the device. Q: How can I search for a specific tone if I don't have the song or artist in my Library? A: To search for a specific tone, go to your Library within FIREHAWK Remote and pick any artist, then one of their albums, and then any song. This will begin to play the song and present you with a list of tones that match the song that is playing. You can then swipe down from the top of the tone list to unveil a ‘Search Tone Cloud’field where you can search for an artist or song name to find tones without having the song or artist in your library. Q: Can I use the FIREHAWK Remote app to load or edit tone files from my other existing Line 6 products? A: The FIREHAWK Remote app is only compatible with tone files created with the AMPLIFi family of products. Q: Can I use the FIREHAWK Remote app with a Line 6 Mobile In or Sonic Port? A: No. The FIREHAWK Remote app is only compatible with the FIREHAWK 1500. Q: What is the USB input on the back panel of FIREHAWK 1500 for? A: It's used to update the unit with a Windows computer, and to record to your DAW. Q: Where can I register my FIREHAWK 1500? A: After logging into or creating a Line 6 user account HERE, you can go HERE and enter in your serial number that is found on the back of your FIREHAWK 1500, it begins with '(21)PTM', simply fill in the remaining digits. 11. Considering upgrading to Helix, currently have a Firehawk FX. Can you transfer your Furehawk presets to Helix to save time? Obviously would want to make changes and new settings, but this would make it easy to pick up and play while setting up in between gigs.
  12. Hi all, I've put up an idea on ideascale for line 6 to swap the compressor and noise gate positions. I think the reversed positions make more sense. If you think so too please vote here line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Firehawk-fx-compressor-and-gate-swap/950226-23508?submitted=1#idea-tab-comments
  13. Hey guys, needed some help here. Im using my Firehawk FX to record some music for. I have it running into my computer with USB, and I'm using SONAR Artist as my DAW, if that makes a difference. I have two tracks, one for the left and one for the right coming from the Firehawk, and my output is also the Firehawk. It records fine without problems, but during playback it has this awful popping and crackling noise to it. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thank you in advanced.
  14. I'm looking at buying a Firehawk FX. However, I'd really like to be able to use some patches that were made for the Pod HD500x. Is this possible? If not this is going to make my decision between the Firehawk and Pod very difficult.
  15. I've been enjoying my Firehawk 1500 with the FBV controller and a Variax for several months now, but when the HX Stomp came out I saw it as an excellent chance to both have an expansion of the Firehawk's effects, and to have a puny little Helix to take on the go or use with headphones in the bedroom. Based on some of the previous posts about connecting the Helix to the Firehawk 1500 I was worried that it would be a bit of a hairball but it didn't seem to be a problem at all and I was curious what methods everyone else had tried. Because I wanted to retain the Variax VDI input control (which the Firehawk 1500 has but the HX Stomp does not) this is how I set it up: 1. Variax into Firehawk 1500 VDI input. 2. FX block in Firehawk effects chain turned on and placed after amp block. 3. Left & Right sends on Firehawk FX Send out to Left & Right input on HX Stomp. 4. Left & Right outputs on HX Stomp to Left & Right Returns on Firehawk 1500. My thinking was to use the HX Stomp primarily for its effects with the Firehawk for the amp and distortion settings, and then if I needed more effects than what HX stomp allowed to simply use the additional effects blocks within the Firehawk. When I tried that setup it seemed to work perfectly, but it also seemed to work just fine to have the HX stomp handle the amp settings as well. Best of all, I was able to use the Variax without needing a battery and still set its tunings within the app. Has anyone else on this board experimented with different ways to mesh these two? What worked best for you?
  16. I couldn't find any other topics about this so I figured I'd make a new post. Does anyone know if there's a way to control the Firehawk FX pedal board with a Windows laptop like the iOS app does? I love the iOS app but I'd prefer it if I could make the screen bigger like my laptop's screen.
  17. Dear Line 6, Is the FireHawk 1500 support or enhancements dead?????? You have such an awesome underdeveloped product here. The majority of the needs are in software and editability settings and with the FVB 3. I love the amp but it is a 63.14 lb. Living Room Brick. Because of the lack of editing for live performances. Please step up and enhancement the product. You have very skilled people on your team that are real players. They know what is needed. Guys isn't all about the Helix, Helix LT, Helix Stomp, Helix Effect. You won't get us to buy any of these or future products when you ignore our other stuff. PS I've had your stuff from the very beginning. You are bring in all these new product and your attention to the other products had slipped. There hasn't been an update or enhancement even on your Varaix other than the Suriken. Absolutely nothing for a very long time. People spend the money on your type of products because there is an expectation of enhancement. Both by design within software and electronic. FH1500, JTV-69, FVB3, X3Live, POD, POD farm
  18. Hi everyone, I just bought a Firehawk, and so far I am pretty pleased with it. I have a couple of questions: (thanks in advance) 1) I want to connect my ipad to the usb port in the back of the firehawk, but I don't know what type of usb port that is so I can buy it on line. It has this "funny" type shape. 2) I am plugging the output to an amp, does it matter what type of guitar cable I use (balance, unbalanced, etc) Same with the cable going to my student montiors (I am using a three prong cable for that.. not sure what the of the cable is...I am knew to all this) Thank you, Lguitarjsm
  19. I made this list of Patches even though its in the Firehawk App, so I can take notes on what I like, dislike, want to delete, ect, So if you are interested feel free to copy it. It would be nice if someone could make a spreadsheet from it with parameter list options! 20. Help me! I just bought my Line 6 Firehawk FX and when I tried it at the shop it was fine but when I got home and tried to use it, when ever I strum or hit one string hard, the sound just cuts for half a second and then comes back again. Its especially annoying since I am an aggressive player I basically have to play really softly to get any usable sound from the thing. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the bluetooth feature and turning it on and off again but it does not work. I have tried it with multiple guitars so I know that its not the guitars' fault. Do you guys know any solution to this? Please and thank you

    HD500 tones

So I picked up a HD500 which seems amazing except for the fact that I only have an iPad and it isn't compatible with any software to download patches. Only a few of the factory ones really sound decent to me and I've played with building a few. So not sure if I should have gotten a firehawk instead so I could control it with my iPad? Let's face it once I get my main 8-12 tones I likely won't use a whole lot more. 1- is there a place I can get tones listed vs a patch? So I can just type them in. I'm not a country guy but I wouldn't mind building a paisley like tone. 2- did I mess up and should have gotten the firehawk since I don't own a computer...
  22. Hello guys, i’m kind of a firehawk noob... i purchased à second Hans firehawk and previous owner had a variax and I don’t: every tile I cry to create a new tone I have “variax” selected and thus I can’t do anything: how can I turn of variax ? hope you can help me on that :) cheers
  23. you can use this emulator on your windows 10 PC, https://www.bluestacks.com/#gref Bluestacks will allow you to install the google play app Firehawk Remote. then click the keyboard once you are in to set up what keys you are using for various actions I used arrows for swipes, save it and have at it.
  24. Hi, I’m just getting into looping and recording. I’ve been playing forever but was never into effects u til recently. Anyway, I have a firehawk 1500 amp and a boss rc 300. ideally what I’d like to do is law down a basic acoustic rhythm and loop it and then use some distortion, reverb, and other effects over it for the lead. The problem im having is that when I record that basic acoustic rhythm on the looper, as soon as I go to my electric effects, the rhythm is switched from the clean acoustic to the electric effects. How would i properly do this? Probably a stupid question but could use some help, thanks guys!
  25. Hi, every time I start the Firehawk remote app on my iPhone it automatically starts playing music from my iTunes account. How do I stop this from happening please? I’ve turned off the access to ITunes and that has stopped it for the time being but that can’t be the answer? thanks, Paul
