  1. Hello, I am trying to re-amp a dry signal recorded on GarageBand with the HX Stomp. I understand that Garageband output and input must be set to HX stomp, the dry signal send to output HX Stomp via USB 5-6 and the re-amp will be recorded on HX Stomp USB channel 1-2. I set all that. I have also changed the input of the HX flow to USB 5-6 as per explained in the manual (circle before the first block on the stomp itself) Here is my issue, the sound comes from GB (I can hear the dry guitar in the headset plugged into the HX stomp - only the usb is hooked to GB) but it doesn't sound like the signal is passed to the effects chain (no parallel split in my chain). Nothing is getting back to GB and again the sound in the headset is the dry sound. I found several videos explaining the output of the dry should be set to USB 5-6 but GB doesn't let you select that (I can only select HX stomp). Is there a way to do it? Any idea what could be set improperly ? Has anyone had any luck reamping with Garageband and HX stomp ? Thanks for your help Pat.
  2. Does anyone know of an appendix or document that explains channel presets and when you should or shouldn't use them? For example, what is the difference between BassCab1 and BassCab2, or what is the difference between BassDirect1 and BassDirect2. Martin
  3. FBV Express MKII cannot be used to switch AMP MODELS(CLEAN/CRUNCH/METAL/INSANE) on Spider Classic 15. Please advise what kind of settings should be made in FBV Control Application.
  4. The overall volume is the Master Volume control. This is controlled by the "big knob" when the LEDs are red (the default state). All of the other volumes happen before this one and it's ultimately how you control the output level while keeping everything relatively balanced by using all of the other controls. This is a global control. The Guitar Volume happens just before the master and is how you balance the guitar level against the Bluetooth streaming audio that is coming into the unit. This is also a global control and is accessed by pressing the big knob until the LEDs are white. The Channel Volume is like a Master for just the amp, and it is stored with the patch. It adjusts the output level without affecting the tone (like the Gain control on the amps would). This is the control you use to level your presets relative to each other. The slightly quirky thing here is that it does live in the amp processing slot, so it happens in the signal chain before the post effects. In v1.1 firmware and later, pressing the big knob until the LEDs are pink acts as a short cut to accessing this control without the app. The Gain on the amp panel is the per-patch parameter that affects the tone of the amp - also referred to as Drive The Volume Pedal is an additional real-time control whose value is not saved with the patch. You can see in the app where it lives in the signal path. The Master control on HD amps is considered a deep edit parameter (like sag, hum, etc.) that is saved with the patch and is exclusive to HD amps. It's the output level of the preamp to the power amp. When you load one of these models, the stored value is right for that amp in the default state and it's usually best to leave it where it is unless you are going for a very specific effect.
  5. All 3rd generation Line 6 digital wireless transmitters and receivers are designed to be cross-compatible with each other. For example, the six-channel Relay G30 transmitter will work on channels 1 through 6 of the XD-V75 receiver. The units in question must be on the same RF mode (RF1 or RF2). 3rd generation products include G30, G50, G55, G90 and XD-V 35, XD-V 55, XD-V 70 and XD-V 75.
  6. The Relay G10 utilizes 14 RF2 channels for transmission. The system performs a channel scan and sets itself to best channel every time the transmitter is docked into the receiver. This can take up to 15 seconds. If you are using G10 in a setup with other 2.4 GHz wireless devices, please make sure to switch on all other wireless devices first, allow them to initialize and set channels, then dock the G10 transmitter into the receiver for at least 15 seconds so the system can select a free channel. When using several G10 units, please start by docking the first unit, wait 15 seconds, undock it and plug it in. Please make sure that it is on (green LED on the transmitter). Then repeat this process with the next unit. The 14 channels are in place to give the system multiple options for finding the best transmission line. In a real-world environment, it is highly unlikely that a user would be able to use all 14 channels simultaneously, if they happened to own 14 G10 systems. In practice, it's feasible that operating up to eight G10 systems simultaneously would be possible. However, there may be dropouts with higher numbers, as the band will get more crowded with each additional system, especially if there is a WiFi source close by.
  7. Are there any published frequency charts that give the specific frequencies used by each channel on a g50 and the g70. We have a pretty good number of different wireless devices by different brands, those are only two of them, that we need to make play well together on one stage without conflict. Having charts would be useful for figuring out on paper what’s the best freq to use. Easier than hunting down using everyone’s scanning. (Not all these devices even have scanning)
  8. I'm looking to buy this Pedal line 6 Helix. I'm wondering if it's possible to switch channel with the helix Pedal ? I'm using a Mesa Boogie Mark V 35w with a cable Din 5 Pins (Midi) to the footswitch. It's only ways it can work, I've read Multiple thread about this, most are old (2016) or they are cabled with 1/4 jack ( My amp model dosn't have output in 1/4).
  9. So I recently got a UX1. I want to record both instrument and vocal at the same time on separate channels. I've set the inputs so both are coming in on POD farm, and in POD farm there is a REC tone A and REC tone B, meaning both can recorded separately. However, when I use software to record it only pics up the first output, and not the second. I can use REC A&B to record both at once but I'd like to record each on a separate channel. Is there a way of doing this. Apologies if it's not too clear, I'm new to technical gear. Until now I've been recording with a zoom mic and editing in sony Vegas. I've attached a screenshot of my setup on POD farm.
  10. Hello everyone, I am completely new to the Helix world but I have an important issue. Can somebody tell me if and if so how you can use a Helix to switch between amplifier channels on a PRS Archon 100 Watt amplifier? I would love to combine the channels with my presets with the touch of 1 button. Now I have to press both the external channel switcher and the Helix which causes timing problems because certain music requires instant switching. With kind regards, Ezra
  11. In few words: I want to start a song with a clean sound of a fender tweed and then change it to a distorted sound of a Mesa Boogie. Let's say that I want to play Fade to Black from metallica, how can I change between these two amps using just one footswitch? I have pod hd500X for over a year and I just can't do that, its so frustrating. Thank you!
  12. Greetings! To preface the below, I have searched high and low for a real answer for my issue. I hope that I am able to find what I'm looking for here! Problem: I have 4 snapshots in Preset "001" that I am trying to integrate MIDI with to switch channels on my Carvin Legacy 3. Snapshot 1: "Clean" - I'd like the Helix to send CC #81 over Channel 1 (MIDI talk, of course) Snapshot 2: "Crunch/Dry" - I'd like the Helix to send CC #82 over Channel 1 Snapshot 3: "Crunch/Wet" - I'd like the Helix to send CC #82 over Channel 1 Snapshot 4: "Lead" - I'd like the Helix to send CC #83 over Channel 1 CC parameters #84 and #85 control Legacy 3 boost and reverb functions respectively. I do not intend to use these at this time. I have tried going into the Global Settings and was successful in assigning CC #81-83 to my Helix Floor unit. I can find the toggles grayed out in "Stomp Mode" and can switch the amp channels in stomp mode. I CAN'T trigger the changes in Snapshot mode, however....I'm perplexed. Super perplexed. Can someone walk me through the steps that I need to take to set this up? I want to have this as a guide to take with me in the event something happens. I play in a band that travels internationally and due to time constraints, I'm basically freaking out inside. We are going from Michigan to New York and then on a cruise ship to Bermuda in literally less than 30 days now. Any assistance will be super appreciated! Disclaimer: I'm new to the Helix and this forum. Save me pls.
  13. Hello, I started this topic is this section because you don't have a section for my amp. I know my amp is a bogner but they told me that it was manufactured by line6 so I'm seeking help with you. When I connect my footswitch, sometimes the amp randomly changes channel. I have a friend that also has that amp and his started to randomly switching channels even with the footswitch connected. I believe this is a problem with the relay switching, maybe it gets overheated os something... Can you provide some kind of help? Thanks
  14. Hi everyone.. I had a Line 6 Spider Valve 212, and when i plug in FBV2 footswitch its delay when i want to switch betwen chanels, and after that it changes randomly... I tried FBV2 on other Line 6 amp and it worked correct... Please help if you now something becouse i have some gig for about 10 days so i realy need help... Thanks...
  15. Hey guys new to the forum here hoping you can help out. I have a weird situation with my pod hd500x that has me stumped. I have a patch set up with 2 of the same amp(one top of chain and one directly below it). What I have done is set it to where only one amp is active at a time with the press of a button. (what this is accomplishing for me is adjusting a preset gain on the amp in question by actually switching to a different amp) The problem I am having is once I switch one amp off I get the "dry" bleed through in my live mix. any ideas?? I have a gig this weekend and I would like to figure this out. cheers, shawn
  16. I just bought a hafler T3 tube preamp (sounds great in the pods FX loop BTW) and i'm sending channel switches to it from the pod HD pro for each bank. The default is 1A = 1 , 1B=2, 1C = 3 etc... is it possible to change what each patch sends as a midi signal, or am i stuck with the default? I really just want every patch to send either a 1 or 3 (clean or gain2), maybe a 2 for D, for the patches that i'll be using the preamp, the rest i'll still be using models so won't need MIDI. My banks all follow the same pattern, I use all 16 banks but with same general setup in each bank. What i don't want to do is send the MIDI signals by hitting a footswitch after changing patches- i want the T3 to go the correct channel when i hit footswitch a,b,c or d A=1, B=3,C=3,D=2 for every bank/setlist any help?
  17. I recently bought this amp, and have it paired only with the POD HD500X. Suddenly, Channel B has lost its 'oomph'. Identical knob/topology settings b/w Ch.A & B yields a pronounced difference in volume and low end, with B sounding 'tinny'. This is universal, guitar direct or Line6 Link. Tube problem? Other?
  18. hi! one question: is it possible on the m9 to have the TAP button regulate the tempo of an external midi delay unit....? is the midi channel # then the same for midi recieve and midi transmit...? and the cc#64 is the same for recieving tap tempo and sending it as well...? thanks a lot, rudi
  19. Hi, I've recently bought an HD500X. I played a gig the other night on a stage with a fair bit of vibration and the HD500x kept on switching from whatever channel I was on, back to channel A without any input from me. It's the first time there's been an issue with this at all. As I always set channel A as my clean rhythm sound, this was problematic, especially during solos! I've flashed the memory but I'm thinking it may be something to do with the sensitivity of the actual buttons themselves. To recreate the problem, all I need to do is tap the metal casing of the unit and it will flick over to Channel A. Anyone else had a similar problem? Cheers, Mark.
  20. hi there, I recently bought a used DT-50 112 combo, and to make it easier to switch between channels picked up a Boss FS-5L foot switch. Tried it out when i got it a few weeks ago, worked fine. Hadn't put the amp on for about two weeks, then tried it tonight and had issues. firstly when I put the TS cable into the foot switch input it would automatically switch from A to B, even when the foot switch itself was not connected. [never B to A though] I even had issues switching it back to A with the front selector switch. - I tried about six different TS cables, none of them worked with the foot switch. - Changed batteries in the Boss, [even though brand new], light would work to indicate it is working, but still no action on the amp. I then turned it off and back on again, holding down the channel select switch on the amp for six seconds. [read about it here somewhere, thought it couldn't hurt]. After this the foot switch input and the Boss would not change the channel, although the switch would. Could the jack input be damaged in some way? and is it an easy fix? other than that the amp is fine, but its an annoyance to not be able to switch channels easily with the new foot switch. Has this happened to anyone else, and what was your solution? Also, if needed, does anyone know the best place in Melbourne, Australia, to fix this type of issue? cheers, Sean
  21. I have a POD HD Pro and recently acquired an ADA MP-1 preamp,. I have the MP1 in the FX loop of the Pod, and it's working quite well. I just ordered a midi cable. The ADA is a Midi preamp. Is it possible to set up MIDI to change the ADA preset based on my pod patches? So pod patch 1A the ADA is on preset 1, Pod patch 1b the ADa is on preset 2, etc? Would love some tips on how to do this if possible, but i'll also take "it's possible, read the manual" if anyone knows it can be done - thanks!
  22. I wanted to get the IV 120 watt model, but i hear with the bigger amps, there is an audio delay changing patches, which would make sound quality live, bad. How many experiences have you heard or experienced with this? If I was playing with a band, wouldn't this delay be drowned out by the band, and secondary guitarist, if the patch is changed and timed right, not at the last possible millsecond?
  23. Hi, I'm an intermediate guitarist who has owned a Spider IV amp for a long time and has been souly living off switching between the preset tones on the left dial (Metal, Insane, Twang etc...). I am not an expert and know next to nothing about amplifiers so if you could help me out here, thank you. There's 4 channel buttons at the top which are presets for a certain tone, When I change the tone on that channel, it reverts back to the standard built-in tone and forgets my customisations, how do I get it to save the changes? Sorry if this is extremely vague, the amplifier jargon hasn't sunk in yet. Still learning. Thanks :D
  24. I have a delay pedal running through the effects loop of my DT25 amp and when I switch channels on the amp, there is a very nasty and loud pop followed by repeats of the pop as it is picked up by the delay. Now, without the loop, I realize there is some clicking as the analog circuits are switching, but I would think that the effects loop would (should?) be bypassed during the switching process and automatically re-enabled once the switch is completed. Am I missing something?
