  1. My helix tap tempo light did not flash/pulse or lit in my helix floor (in complete dark you can see some pulse). Also two other leds got very dim. Service replaced them with original leds. But very soon (within 5 months with very little usage) the same problem appear with the same leds. Although I turned off the tap tempo light after led replacement, it still managed to die again :) So I think there is a problem with unit that leads to corrupt leds. Maybe firmware bugs. It is very annoying this kind of failure for a very expensive hardware. And I don't want to pay the service again, since it is going to fail in 5 months. I also was not lucky with my relay g10 guitar wireless which stop charging within maybe 2 years also with very little usage. Although I love Line 6, I will think twice for my next purchase.
  2. Guys, have you managed to solve the tap tempo light problem? My helix tap tempo light does not flash/pulse or lit in my helix floor. I opened a support ticket and Line6 techs were friendly. We tried full reset, but it did not worked. They said it might be a hardware issue. So it seems I have to send it to the reseller. Before sending do you have any idea? Before a few firmware updates, I turned the lights of tap tempo within Global settings -> Display -> Tap tempo Led -> Off not to wear out the leds. Now I can't turn on the tap tempo light again within the same settings adjusting "On" again. It does not work in whatever mode (stomp, preset edit, etc.) it's in. If I turn the room lights, I can see actually it pulses, but so dim that it is almost impossible to see even in a dark room. And strangely it pulses in blue! not red as it used to be. Now the firmware is at 2.90, but it is the same for last few firmwares. NOT: In test mode, all footswitches are changing color for every press in the order red, green, blue, purple. But tap tempo button doesn't light red. Also the 6th button doesn't light green. Could anyone test and compare the 6th and 12th buttons in test mode? ( reboot with 3 & 4 footswitches for test mode) For comparison mine are like this: - NONE, green, blue, light blue (tap tempo/12th footswitch) - red, NONE, blue, purple (mode-edit/6th footswitch) - red, green, blue, purple (other footswitches)
  3. That's great but it only accepts paypal which is unavailable in my country. Why can't we just use a credit card to purchase? Any solutions?
  4. I wish all the amp/cabinet simulation madness come to an end. I am eagerly waiting for the effect processors that aim to create unique, musical, dreamy sounds that fit the space age, but not the nonsense technological noises. I wonder if it is a bit possible with helix. I would love such presets. By the way I am waiting for a Christmas sale, if it ever happens :)
  5. Hi guys. Any opinions about how these gonna sound with an 8 string guitar? I have a Schecter Hellraiser C-8 FR which has active emg pickups. Wondering if the 3 Sigma packs for both guitar and bass will sound good with my guitar.
  6. Hi, Fremen. 1- I am interested in a "no IR presets". Just using only the helix provided amp/cab simulations. Can we expect such a preset set? 2- Is a discount like Black Friday sale or Christmas promotion gonna happen soon?
  7. Thanks. That's good to know. I wonder if there may be clever things to do with helix and an arduino or a teensy board (Using that exp ins for example). +1 If the firmware was open sourced (at least some parts of the code), I am sure some people would come here with some crazy creative projects.
  8. I believe I read somewhere in the forum that people fixed that problem by modding the wiring. Anyway I think you can change the pot with a 10k one in the pedal which helix expects, so the calibration problem probably goes away.
  9. Thanks. That's good to know it is already possible at least with a workaround. Anyway without much tinkering, it would be good to connect any expression pedal with a toe switch and assign a role to the "exp 3" input as "exp toe switch" on the gui selectively. So the internal resistors will be activated for the inputs and we can be sure not to fry our expensive hardware by short-cutting the pedal inputs. Even on a cheap arduino we can assign these roles to control the inputs. So for a super hardware like helix, it must be more straightforward on the LCD display.
  10. I think a firmware update to Helix Floor may enable "exp3" out to be used as "exp toe switch" or "exp 3" out selectively. Wouldn't it be cool that we could have two exp pedal with individual toe switches?
