To be clear I'm happy with my Helix as I found the proper patches, IR's and playback system (Powercab) to fit my needs. I'm just wondering why it takes 3 or 4 blocks with Dynamics / distorsion / EQ / Custom IR to create a sound that ressembles this one ? https://youtu.be/kNGSCQceY6Q?t=1024 In the video John is plugged straight into the Mark IV with no additional pedals and it sounds great. Why doesn't the Cali IV Amp + 4x12 V30 helix block sound like this ? It's not even close and I own the same Majesty guitar.

Hi all, Just to let you all know that the wait is almost over. Here's the reply from a L6 support agent to ticket I opened. The issue was about the limitations of the L6link's handling by the Helix. Quote : " I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. It's likely a firmware incompatibility. The newest update is just around the corner in about two weeks or so. You may want to wait until the update comes out and then try it again. If you continue to have this issue after the update, let us know and we can assist. Otherwise, you'll need to use the Analog work around for now with 1/4" cable or XLR outs. If you have anymore questions, feel free to let me know" So you got it, firmware 2.8 should be out before July 18 and I suspect it might be labeled 3.0 as a way to highlight the major architectural changes.
