Variax 300 & Workbench

Wondered if you had any joy getting your variax 300 connected to Workbench. I have a 300 and a POD x3 Live. Both work great on their own. Monkey can see the X3 Live and GearBox can connect and change the X3L parameters fine, but when I fire up Workbench it isn't able to connect. It shows a question mark icon against the X3 Live. So I cant see beyond the X3L to the variax guitar. I dont have a usb adaptor to try a direct connection to the PC Any thoughts? Alan3666
