Is it possible the pitch effect is tied into another button and the reason you don't see it all the time depends on the song you are playing next? In other words, is there another effect you use less frequently that might have accidentally been wired to the pitch effect too? If you upload the patch we can at least look at that. I use the simple pitch all the time and have never had this issue. I do send it through a split path and only have it used on sub 200hz or so, so that might be different.

Plenty of good advice already... I play a PRS SE Hollowbody 2. I guess my first question would be, what kind of sounds are you looking to get?

Hello Tone Chasers, Does anyone have a patch that mimics an electric piano of sorts? There are organ patches but they are not what I am looking for. I used to have a EHX Key9 that did a pretty good job with various suitcase etc style electric pianos. Any help is appreciated. I am not afraid to try myself with a little guidance into what makes an electric piano sound like it does (dominant frequencies, etc). Anyway, hopefully some wizard can point me in the correct direction. Thanks, Rick

For me the acoustic IRs give me super flexibility live. I use a Taylor T5z for performing acoustic and electric type tunes live. My duo also uses looping. With the flexibility of all the available options with the HX Stomp combined with looping it is a great to be able to have a decent acoustic sound in the toolbox. With that said, nothing sounds like a real acoustic, it is so complex to completely imitate IMHO. That is not to say there are some awesome IRs and so on that can sit amazingly in a mix, where they fall down a little is when they are on there own. Just my 2 cents.

Unfortunately there are no new products on the horizon. L6 has decided, after a rigorous employee debate, to rest on their amazing accomplishments and all vacation in a top secret location. Their advice is to just gig with what you have, you are on your own. Sorry to be the bearer of such terrible news.

Although there are probably a lot more rockstars using the Helix than loop wizards...I fall into the later camp. I am an acoustic player for a duo that uses quite a bit of looping to fill out our mix (nothing overly complicated, just multiple layers). I was hoping the HX Effects was more of a stand-alone looper and effects piece of equipment. From the sounds of it, it is probably not the case. Although it seems really incredible, alas, my external looper would still have to remain. The loop time is fine for me (even though more is always better), it is really the ease of use for live looping...all the modes and switching mentioned above makes it seem unlikely.

Hello, I am an acoustic guitarist for a duo and am very intrigued by the HX Effects...it seems outstanding. With that said, I was hoping someone could answer a few questions I have: 1. Is the looper a live type tool or is it really a practice option? I use multiple loops during our performances...Stacking is fine. It seems there is some tap dancing involved to switch between modes on the HX effects (you need to exit the looper to turn off and on effects then re-enter the looper to stop / undo etc). I am just trying to understand the practicality of using the looper live. 2. Does the looper process MIDI sync messages where the HX Effects is the slave? 3. Does the looper process MIDI start / stop messages where the HX Effects is the slave 4. Is there an octave effect similar to the Boss OC-3 where I can set the range of the effect being applied? Meaning I only want the effect applied up to a certain note. 5. Is this viable as a direct to front of house option versus hitting an amp? Any information is greatly appreciated. -Rick
