Hi Y'all I have several Flextone III's - I can't say all the factory presets do me much good, but I've been able to build my own tones that sound and feel very much like my vintage tube amps. Tube amp players know that compressors just don't work on tube amps, but the FT III has an overall natural, subtle compression that works great!. It's a huge benefit. I'm playing all my shows with 'em. I'm also having issue with my 1x12 - I've flashed the firmware twice, but 2 problems persist 1 - volume changes arbitrarily (usually gets louder) 2 - The tone under the B button doesn't load at boot up - it defaults to the tone under A - I have to remember to press the B button to make sure my tone is present before a show. 3 - Line6 Edit won't run on my 2016 MacBookPro Sierra - Java runtime errors galore... I really wish Line6 would support these wonderful, unique amps again.

I’m replying to this post for 2 reasons.. 1- to agree with y'all about the awesome Flextone III 2 - to point you to my post about modifying one in hopes of getting an answer… If you’d have told me 3 months ago I’d be playing a modeling amp, Id’a told you you were nuts. I’ve been a tube guy for a long time… Well, I just stuffed a $2,000 Mesa Lonestar into a closet. I’m pretty stoked about this old Flextone III… I’ve been playing some festival dates and I gotta say, this thing feeding stereo to a big FOH is brilliant !!! I recently bought a 2x12 with the stereo DI. I also bought a 1x12 thinking I’d use it for smaller club dates. Smaller, lighter, no DI but still sounds great with a good mic in front. I had the half-baked idea of “merging” the 2 to get the best of both worlds… IE: Replacing the amp chassis in the 1x12 with the amp chassis from the 2x12 (I see they are identical in size) Anyone ever done that? I don’t have a clear understanding of the output wattage on the 2 respective amps. Would the wattage/ohms work out with the larger amp feeding the single Celestion?? I’d love some solid advise please. Thanks folks

Hi all just started using an older flextone III - I need some tech support, but cant start a ticket without the serial# and danged if I can find it. Anyone know where that thing is?? Thanks
