  1. Hello All, Proud owner of way too many line 6 products. Specifically with my Variax, I am noticing some compatibility issues with certain softwares that prompted me to ensure I had both a Windows and Mac computer. I can't recall how long ago Monkey and Updater stopped being supported on Mac OS but it prompted me to go get a windows desktop (amongst other justifications for needing it). However, even the windows softwares didn't seem to allow me to do a factory reset on the Varian (a Shrunken, which has some eccentric tunings I wanted to try out). I tried referring to the manual for the tunings but seeing "BEEEEE" tuning doesn't help me know which octave each string is set to. Might just be me and this particular scenario but Stevics tunings sometime need to note which dang octave LoL. Sorry, tangent. I still think that some of these tools either need to be supported fully until there is a working replacement or compatibility needs to be addressed somehow, hence my browser suggestion. I'll just leave this note here for now. Curious if anyone else has similar experiences and very mild frustrations. Cheers, JScotty
  2. Yessir! I have the guitar hooked up to my Helix LT using a standard 1/4" guitar cable and I press the Model knob and see the lights under the knob turn on. I made sure to fully charge up the battery beforehand just in case.
  3. Hey Guys, Bought a windows machine over the weekend so I could run Monkey and some other apps that aren't supported on Mac OS these days. Just tried to update my JVT-59 and I seem to be stuck. The variax is plugged in via the ethernet-usb adapter that came with the guitar and with the same cable (in case that matters) itself. Both lights are green on the adapter but I can't seem to get it to connect to Monkey (v1.77 on Windows 10) or install the necessary drivers to update anything. I tried to select a device to connect but the Variax USB interface doesn't seem to connect all the way. And the guitar is not recognized in Workbench even if I rescan. See my attached screenshots and if you could provide any insight or next troubleshooting steps I would greatly appreciate it! I'm trying to get some factory settings back on this guitar and my Shuriken SR250. Cheers, Justin
  4. Thank you all for the input. I have been considering getting a windows device for other purposes and this just might be the tipping point. I love how helpful everyone is on this forum - awesome community. Cheers!
  5. Hey Folks, Since I got my first Variax over a year ago I have not been able to get Monkey to work at all on my MacBook. I have tried downloading and installing it multiple times to no avail. The install completes successfully but I'm not able to launch the app. I persistently get an error message that it needs to be updated. Is Big Sur OS not supported yet (not sure how long Big Sur has been out even - I just update when I'm told to)? How long does it take for these OS updates to come out typically? I'm trying to reset my Varian to factory settings. Is there another option other than Monkey? Thanks!
  6. Hey Everyone, Just picked up an "open box" black JTV-59 today (thanks to stores reopening "post-Covid"). It's my second Variax and I'm loving how different the playability is compared to my SR250. Anyway... I was wondering if there are any options to replace the pickup rings with something that matches the rest of the hardware? I've been searching here and other sites for a few hours and felt like I needed to check with you guys directly. Has anyone looked into replacing the pickup rings on the 59 with something other than the black or cream? I'm looking for some Chrome/Silver/Nickel/etc. replacements to match the rest of the hardware. Anyone have any suggestions? As always, I appreciate any input I can get! Thanks!
  7. Awesome - that's what I suspected but wanted to confirm before procuring one of these bad boys. Appreciate the speedy response!
  8. Hey Everyone, I performed a search but couldn't find anything similar... I've heard conflicting information on this across various videos, articles, and posts so I figured I'd ask for you guys to settle this one for me: can you rename the snapshots on the LT or is this something you can only do with the Floor? Thanks, Justin
  9. Thank you - you're the man! Err... I mean, Punkboy!
  10. Thanks for the speedy response, Silverhead. This was the first place I checked and it looks like it covers part of what I'm trying to find. I'm really focused on saving all of the unique settings I have saved on the Variax into the Firehawk so I can do it "hands free." Well not completely hands free since I'll be playing the instrument but you know what I mean, lol. Do you know if I can go from patch to patch with different guitars and tunings saved? And then apply the effects on top of this? Thanks again!
  11. Hey Everyone, Just bought a Variax - and I'm customizing the hell out of it. I was wondering if there were any good videos or write-ups covering how to utilize the presets in the guitar and save them into banks in the Firehawk? I might be up a creek since I want to be able to go from an Acoustic in Drop D to a LP with custom string tunings and volumes (one example or many similar scenarios). Does the Firehawk allow for this level of customization to be saved and not apply ALL the time? I don't want to be turning knobs and pick-up selectors every time I want to change it up. Or am I in the market for a Helix LT now? Thanks in advance, Justin
  12. Greetings! I performed a search first but had no luck so... I am a new owner of a Firehawk FX and have been trying to use it with my old Spider II 30W combo (gotta love apartment life). Since I'm in an apartment I need to keep the volume at a reasonable level, so naturally I keep the volume low on my amp and haven't modified anything on the FX pedal. However, I've noticed that when I use the volume pedal at all it seems to override my amp setting and it sure sounds like it's controlling the master volume instead of just the volume coming from the pedal. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do or use in order to solve this? I'm not opposed to procuring a new amp if need be. Thanks in advance, Justin
