It’s set per preset. Thanks.

I’m having this exact problem. My one expression pedal connected to my Stomp is being recognized as Exp 1 or Exp 2 without consistency. Is this a bug? I can’t for the life of me figure out what’s causing this. I’ve tried to detect a pattern, but even on new presets the Stomp still sometimes see it as 1 sometimes as 2.

I know this is an old topic but I'm having the exact same problem. I can't for the life of me figure it out. Did you arrive at a fix?

Thanks. So is this a correct statement? The Volume blocks in the 'stereo' and 'mono' pulldowns preserve the stereo or mono chains, respectively. But I still have a question about whether it matters if you use the block from the 'Mono' or 'Stereo' section of the effects list, because the names of the effects themselves don't change. i.e. are these statements correct? Imagine you have only two blocks in your path: Stereo Delay > Volume block taken from the Mono section = Mono signals out of L/R Stereo Delay > Volume block taken from the Stereo section = Stereo signal out of L/R

For reasons that are too boring to get into, I want to force dual mono outputs through my left and right outputs. I want to have a failsafe final block that is mono. My two questions are: — If an effect appears under both stereo and mono, are they separate iterations of the effect? i.e. Stereo Volume and Mono Volume? (See picture) — Can I effectively use the Volume block to create and end-of-chain mono block?

Open G and Open D are great! And yes, one is mostly for slide.

Thanks, @lou-kash, this is so helpful. Only one guitar is being played at a time. I'd imagined just rolling off the volume on the guitar not being played, rather than sacrificing blocks or splits. Good point about the cable.

Am I over thinking this? Do I even need the split path? If I only have one output. wouldn't everything naturally be collapsed into mono? I did my best to describe my question in the image here:

Thanks. I tried this but I only heard one guitar. I did try it a different way (see attached image) and was able to hear both guitars. I plan on only have one output connected, which will go to FOH. The option on the right seems like the way to go, unless I'm missing something?
-
Related to this — if I have an entirely mono path and use only one output, do I even need to do a collapse to mono like I describe?

Hi everyone, I have two of the same electric guitar but they have different tunings. I switch between the two. Playing live, I'd like to share the same exact signal path and I'm trying to avoid using a separate ABY box. I own an HX Stomp. Would this be the correct way to set up the signal path at the beginning? I understand I am 'sacrificing' a block and the splits but my signal chain is fairly minimal. Thanks for any help.

Nope. It’s just a blank, fresh preset. All my software updates are current.

I tried but couldn't get this to work. I have a Midi cable connected IN > OUT on my Stomp XL. I have Midi Thru turned off in Globals. When I press my footswitch the tuner screen turns on below the stomp squares. See attached.

I'm building an effects loop so that I can experiment with dry/wet mixes. When I drop my FX Loop into a separate path, I hear a distinct phaser effect. The only pedal in the loop at the moment is a Strymon Flint with a low reverb. Any ideas what might be causing this? I have a Split Y in the front, 50/50 Balance A-B, and the Mixer is at Center 0.0 dB.

Helix Edit 3.6 not recognising update is available
johnwnyc replied to michaelbernard's topic in Helix
MacOS prompted me yesterday to update to 13.5, which I did. I launched HX Edit after I updated the OS and what do you know…. I got the pop-up to update to 3.6.1. And it worked successfully this time. -

Yes, I did read that thread about Gatekeeper. I’m here to say that MacOS Ventura’s behavior is different. Line 6 Updater can’t be checked for malicious software, therefore you are stopped cold in your tracks. There is no way to override the gatekeeping. -

I still can't update past 3.50 either. I downloaded the Line 6 Updated.pkg on Mac OS (v13.4.1) but can't run it due to security issues. I tried to run it manually but am stuck in the "malicious software" loop. (Opening it manually from Privacy & Security doesn't help, even though I have admin privileges.) -
Can someone help me before I throw in the towel in this platform? I am in a vicious cycle of getting dreaded "Failed to get present names" errors. To fix the issue I'll reset my HX Stomp XL, rebuild presets, etc. The usual. Only to have the error reoccur. I've spent many hours on this thing. Just want to play my guitar and get some recording done. Each time I have this running a few hours later I'll run into the same issue. I've tried different presets. Even switching out cables out of voodoo. To no avail. Are others suffering through this? Remind me how do people trust this thing on stage? I have a pretty vanilla system. A mostly stock OS build with UAD software for my interface, Logic Pro, and Mac OS with automatic OS updates. I'm on: Mac OS 12.6.2 HX Edit v 3.5.1 HX Stomp XL with firmware 3.50

I haven’t changed any of the global settings. In fact, I just received the Stomp XL and have been using it for a day. I updated the firmware to the latest and fired up some backing tracks. I’ll be using the Stomp XL primarily for headphone practice. I have: Computer > USB > Stomp Guitar > Stomp Stomp > Headphones About as simple as it gets. No matter what I do to the USB trim setting in global settings, Spotify, YouTube, etc comes in at a level that is much too hot. I’m using a stock “Jazz Rivet” preset and haven’t been futzing around with gain settings. Everything is at unity gain. Headphone volume knob is at about noon. It’s weird why it’s not working.

I play along to YouTube videos from my MacBook, which is connected via USB to my Stomp XL. I wear headphones that are connected to the Stomp XL. I always have to remember to set the volume control of the YT video to about 5%, lest I blow out my ears. I was under the impression from the manual that I could attenuate the volume from my laptop’s backing tracks with the global USB 1/2 trim setting. But changing the level there has no effect whatsoever. Am I misunderstanding the function of that USB 1/2 trim setting?
