  1. I love my M13 - I use it with my classic rock band and it's perfect for just about all my needs. Unfortunately, the Volume Pedal patch stopped working. It worked perfectly for years and without making any changes to it, it just stopped responding to my EX-1 expression pedal. I can still use the EX-1 for a wah sound and a rotary pedal sound and the pedal works perfectly on those, but no matter what I do, I can't change the volume setting with the pedal. I can change it with the knob - that works perfectly - but not the pedal. I've tried resetting the M13 back to factory settings and I've also tried using the Volume Pedal patch in a different row of effects, but no joy. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Jesse
  2. I use the Tube Compressor patch for that. Sounds excellent on clean channels. There's also a Boost Comp patch in the M13 which models the MXR Micro Amp, which a lot of people used to use as boost pedals back in the day.
  3. I see this is an old topic but I still use my M13 in my classic rock band - sometimes I don't want to drag my Marshall halfstack to practice so I'll plug my M13 into my friend's clean amp and use the M13 for all my tones. I know it's not quite a PA but maybe this is at least a starting point? I use the Chandler Tube Drive sound for both my crunchy rhythm and my lead tones. At one switch I have the gain and volume at reasonable settings for my rhythm tone (basically same volume as my clean tone), and then at another switch I use higher gain and volume for my leads. Unfortunately I don't really like any other overdrive or distortion pedal in the M13 so I stick with the Chandler. It sounds very Marshall crunchy to me. Jesse
  4. Hey, folks. I'm a long-time happy M13 user. Apart from an external compressor and wah pedal, it's the only FX I use for my classic rock band. I usually play it through my Marshall amp but occasionally I run it through my friend's clean amp using the overdrive pedal FX for rhythm and lead tones. I use the Chandler Tube drive for both - unfortunately that seems to be the only overdrive or distortion in the M13 that sounds good to me. Can anyone recommend any other M13 sounds they use for crunchy rhythm or good classic rock lead tones? Right now I just use the M13 for individual FX on each foot switch (I guess NOT in latch mode) so I'm just turning each pedal on or off but for the right tone I'd consider switching to latch mode, for example if anyone can suggest turning on one of the overdrive/distortion pedals and a graphic EQ or some other pedal to get a good tone. Thanks!
  5. You mean make your guitar sound like an organ? I think a big part of that would be the rotary speaker effect. Have you tried playing your guitar through the FX that sound like the Leslie and the Fender Vibratone? Jesse
  6. I enjoy using my EX-1 expression pedal with the M13 for volume pedal, wah pedal and for controlling slow to fast, fast to slow with the rotary speaker patch. I'm considering getting another EX-1 and I wondered if anyone else was already running like this and if so, how do you use them? I guess you can assign one pedal to, for example, the 3rd bank of FX and put the wah and rotary pedal (and one other pedal-controlled effect like pitch or talk box) there, and assign the second pedal to the 4th bank and put the volume pedal there, right? Unfortunately if I want to leave the volume pedal on I'd have to dedicate the 4th bank to volume pedal and nothing else - I wish the M13 was updated to allow you to leave on dedicated FX like compressor and volume pedal the way you can leave on the noise suppressor. The other thing I regret is you can't turn FX on or off with the expression pedal. I understand other FX units will automatically activate assigned FX if the effect is off and you move the expression pedal - I wish the M13 did that! Thanks! Jesse
