Yeah it keeps getting worse. You click anything and the same results come up and notably Date where before it would give you most recent. Pretty much a train wreck at this point.

I think it would be great if there was a way to possibly highlight or bold all the IRs that are currently being used in Presets. This way others could be deleted and replaced without impacting current presets.

The issue with the Spider V Remote app not detecting an internet connection is happening to many of us. Seems to be a Windows only issue though. Submit a Ticket to Line 6 so that they know it is a problem for many and it should push them into a fix.

Yes same here. the Spider Remote App no longer recognizes my internet connection. Renders it useless basically.

My 10-year old PC that I had my the Spider Remote program on died and I replaced it with a new laptop. I downloaded the Spider Remote 2.0, Drivers and Installer but the Spider Remote app will not open. When I double-click it, it shows up briefly on my task bar then vanishes. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks!

Another question for you. I have some tones I have worked on for several songs and some I feel quite good about but a few are close but sound a bit “muffled” like someone put something over a speaker. I feel like the tone would be right if I could lift off the muffle. Would I correct that in EQ or PEQ?

Customtone is great and there are a lot of tones in the cloud although not always easiest to find in some cases but is there a Customtone Forum where people can discuss tones and help each other? Maybe I am missing something but can't seem to find anything. It would seem to be a great way to grow and improve the Line 6 community.

If that was the case though wouldn’t it still allow for mic position? In Classic when you move the mic position around you really don’t hear the difference as compared to FR.

Really appreciate the assistance with this. One more thing if you don't mind. In trying to craft a tone similar to a song I have researched rigs different guys used and scoured the web for various settings to try and what not. One thing I found is the Tonebridge App which has presets for various songs and they typically have 10-band EQ settings in each song with frequencies of 31.25Hz, 62.5Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz and 16kHz. If I wanted to try to use those settings for the PEQ in the Spider V Remote app, which only has the 4 frequencies (Low, Low-Mid, Hi-Mid and High), which out 4 out of the 10 might one want to try? Not saying this would work but was thinking to try to see how it might sound.

So I was watching two PEQ tutorials for the Spider V Remote on YouTube that were posted by Matt Ball. He recommended generally making boosts for the various amp models available. That said I had two questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with: 1) For example for the Low Frequency on a Fender Twin he selected 195 Hz but on a Mesa Boogie it was 176 Hz. Do you think that is a general guess within a range for Low of say 150-250? 2) In a couple of cases the Frequency for Low Mid was lower than Hi Mid but in other cases it was the opposite. Why might that be? Thanks again for your help.

Very much appreciated I just got back into playing after a 35-year absence (better late than never). When I was a kid I had an amp and a fuzz box and now there are so many choices. I am kind of learning as I go. For example I found some presets for She Sells Sanctuary by the Cult and studied how the intro was setup versus the main part. I think my biggest problem is not knowing how to do both EQs correctly whereas for someone like you it’s probably quick and simple. I am also trying to figure out the different Reverbs - Spring, Room, Hall and Plate.

Excuse my ignorance but I have a couple of questions about FR vs Classic modes: 1) if you switch to Classic Mode (in the cabinet section if using the App) does that effectively negate whatever cabinet was chosen so you don’t need to worry about it or the mic position? 2) when trying to get close to an artists tone (this will likely be subjective I am guessing) but would FR be better for that or Classic (in your opinions)? Thanks in advance.

Is there any resource that gives a better explanation of the various available setting on specific effects that you choose to use? Some of the items differ from what is on actual pedals and I am trying to understand what Mix is for example on a Delay effect or Phaser effect.

So when using these effects and making adjustments to them the settings are Drive, Gain and Tone. On a real Ibanez Tube Screamer the choices are Drive, Level & Tone where Level is volume. Why in our case are we using the term Gain? Doesn’t Gain refer to distortion and synonymous with Drive? The interchanging of Gain and Drive confuses me.

So then the specific frequency and the + or - gain is all by ear? There is quite a bit of variation in those ranges. I was thinking maybe people were using additional software to make those determinations. Rather impressive to be able to do that purely by ear.

When it comes to the specific EQ section when creating or modifying a tone how are low, low mid, high mid and high frequency range and gain determine? Is this done for the overall amp itself or specific to each song or tone? I watched some of the demo videos with Dan Boul and he mentioned he added EQ to presets. Just trying to learn more about this and how they come up with specific numbers for example something like Low Shelf Frequency 125 and Low Shelf Gain -5.1 dB? Thanks in advance.

I am new to the amp as well but do notice a subtle change when switching cabinets. It’s much more noticeable obviously switching from amp to amp but switching mics/position makes some difference with the cabinets. Perhaps higher volumes might make a bigger difference.

So then only a tube amp with break up and distort with high volume? I was reading how a lot of guitarists get their sound by cranking their amps vs using a pedal just didn’t connect the dots that it only applies to tube amps.

Sorry if this is a newbie question but if you’re playing at home and have to watch the volume what is best: 1) just set Master Volume at 3 or 4 or 2) crank Master Volume and lower Volume in the amp settings and lower Volume of guitar itself Maybe it’s the same but wasn’t sure if one way is better than the other. Thanks in advance.

I came to this conclusion and was wasting time I should be using for practicing and playing. It’s not like I am a sound engineer plus i need all the practice I can get. Appreciate the comments.
