  1. I'm also finding the new amp very useable. I've no idea what it's supposed to emulate (if indeed it is) but it's one of the easiest to set up to be responsive to volume tweaks & playing style. A great starting point for those Joe Walsh tones too that really respond to how hard you dig in. Regarding the update, everything I paid for initially works fine & I now have more options to either use or ignore as I see fit. It's 3 more updates than I've either had from Boss or Zoom in the same period. The only minor hitch for me was I allowed Pod Go to store the back-up where it defaulted to but it failed to find it after rebooting. No big deal if you know where to look but might worry anyone who doesn't. It's still a great unit if you bought it for what it is rather than what you hoped it would become.
  2. No idea whether this matters but I created another back-up file after updating but before doing the factory reset. This loaded fine after the reset. If you're trying to load to load a .pgb file created before updating maybe this is causing the problem & it's worth starting from scratch.
  3. I made the same mistake & nothing new appeared. So I ran the software update, restarted the PC and the Pod Go and everything seems fine now. Maybe it's different on a Mac but I agree it should be made harder to install them in the wrong order. Maybe try re-installing on a friend's PC if that's an option? Hope you get it sorted.
  4. I'd have to agree many of the presets are terrible. I'm not sure cheap headphones are the problem, the sound is equally awful on my HD25II's & AKG K702's. The sounds I've built from scratch are awesome, so no complaints from me & I've only used a fraction of what's available. The problem I have with tweaking the presets is that there are so many combinations of gear I'm not familiar with, that I'm not always sure where root of the problem lies. It's easier to start with an amp/cab combination & then add effects one at a time. That way it's easier to judge the impact each individual effect has in conjuction with the others. I get that people who are familiar & experienced with tweaking modelling effects, or maybe even own some actual gear being modelled won't need to do this. But they're probably looking at something a little higher up the food chain than the Pod go.
