  1. I'm not nearly that electronic savvy . . . can anyone provide a walkthrough as to how to set the HX FX to switch amp channels? Thanks!
  2. Right, as I described in the post I've already done that. I have my FX Loop Block after my OD blocks. The whole preset sounds great, but I am unable to bypass the HX Effects and get back to that Marshall tone. As I describe in my post, the same result happens when I go to an empty "New Preset".
  3. Did you ever get your HX Effects issue sorted out? I've got a Marshall JCM2000 also. I've inserted an FX send/return block after my OD blocks as recommended for 4cm. What I'm noticing is that when I full bypass the FX, I can't "get back" to my amp's native sounds. The channel switch LED will change color, but the tone doesn't change at all - and it's not the amp's tone. It's this weird, loud honky tone that doesn't respond to changing Volume, Gain, etc. I have checked the Global Settings to ensure that my sends/returns are in "Line" mode, but I just don't see a way to bypass the FX and use just my amp's tone. I've also noticed that this is the same tone that happens when I select a blank "New Preset". Is there any possible way to use 4cm and still be able to retain my amp's native tone when I want it, or is it an either/or with 4cm? If so, there's really no sense in using any of the OD or Boosts because it would be relegated to the FX loop alone. Hope there's a solution to this. Thanks!

No I lost interest in using it the way I wanted and it supposedly was intended to use.  I use it mainly for recording purposes now  I will occasionally use it in front of the amp as well as in the loop of the amp.  I'm very disappointed in Line 6's response and decline to admit that there is an issue with their product. They sent me a schematic to make a cable which was supposed to rectify my issue. It did not and was a waste of my time and money building the cable as they suggested.

As it goes I believe when Line 6 says this works with most popular amplifiers they just simple mean Line 6 amplifiers.

I own 5 different Marshall amplifiers and I would have to say they are industry standards. My guess is they tested this unit on their own amps and never realized that it would react differently on other brands.

I've never tried using bypass on the unit between my amp. But I do have it setup so when I hit a certain patch it kills everything in the chain and my natural amp sound Clean/crunch/gain comes through without a hiccup.   I'll have to give it a go and see if the unit reacts any differently when using bypass. I actually just did the new update which I saw was available when I logged on today.  I'll have to give it a try when I have time and see if mine does as you say your unit does and get back to you.

       Cheers!

  6. Hi all - Also a fairly new HX FX user and having similar problems - I've got a Marshall JCM2000. I've inserted an FX send/return block after my OD blocks as recommended for 4cm. What I'm noticing is that when I full bypass the FX, I can't "get back" to my amp's native sounds. Thanks!
  7. Hello all! Brand new Helix Floor user here. I'm not really into patch creation, but like to download others' patches to play in my cover band. On the factory presets, you tap "Mode" and it goes into "Stomp" mode showing all the blocks that make up the preset. However, some of the presets I've downloaded from others seem to default into "Snapshot" mode - you tap "Mode" and nothing is shown on the scribble strips and the foot switches aren't colored. The components are shown on the LCD, but nowhere else. Is there a way to get out of the "Snapshot" and into having the footswitches show the components like in "Stomp" mode? I can do it if I hold down "Mode", but it goes into "Edit" mode with the footswitches blinking. Can anyone help please?
