  1. One more question : Does this mean that I can turn the 'discard setting' on globally when I work live and then turn it off again when I am editing at home? Because that could solve my 'problem'. In that case I just turn it on for live performances and turn it off at home. As long as I don't lose any settings because of the switching.
  2. Shame but I was afraid of that. :) I'll look into your info, thanks!
  3. I have two paths with two unique signal chains. I have two snapshots, one turns on the first signal chain and the other one turns on the second signal chain. I use the stomp buttons to turn the pedals on/off for each signal path. How do I make sure that when I turn off one pedal in the first signal path, this is not also done in the second path? So I want to be able to switch from snapshot one to snapshot two and back, and then have my initial settings for snapshot one as I programmed them, and vice versa. A stomp button can be assigned to a different pedal in the various snapshots and I do that. I want it to reset to the status that the pedal has been programmed with when I switch to a different snapshot. So ; 1. I have snapshot 1 which includes an overdrive active and I turn off the overdrive. 2. I go to snapshot 2 3. I go back to snapshot 1 and now I want the overdrive in its original state(on) I want to do this per patch, not globally. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for any info about this. Rob. PS. To whom it may concern : When someone gives me a thumbs down I also would like to see a comment as to why he or she did that. It helps to determine what to do and what not to do. If it is just a thumbs down I will still not be the wiser.
  4. I have read that the used processing power is supposed to be displayed in the editor somewhere but I cannot find it Is my information wrong or am I looking in the wrong place? I ask because what I understand is that the Helix can support only two amps per patch, but when I use factory template '4 Tone Switcher' I see four separate signal paths and I can add an amp/cab block to all of them. So I would like to know more about the limits of the Helix. I build loads of patches and sometimes they can get very complicated(think Eric Johnson... ;) ). So it would be a great help if I could separate each amp with its effects on a signal path. I have of course read the documentation and the manuals and I have searched here and elsewhere online but I cannot get a straight answer. Thanks in advance. P.S. https://payhip.com/b/k9qMd
  5. Obviously but then they should not have priced the Stadium for double the money of an OG Helix me thinks. I think the Stadium is for a different market segment? Furthermore the Helix was promoted as getting updates at least once a year. I bought mine about 9 month ago, way before the Stadium came out, so it is not unreasonable that they would keep updating the OG Helix for a couple of years before phasing it out. Updates of what you may ask? Well I think we are good for the amps and now the cabinet module, but I can list a few old pedals that I would love to have in the Helix... :)
  6. Oh it does not have to be easy! :) I have all the time in the world(well... sort of)... Thanks for the link by the way! I'll check that now.
  7. I am taking a dive into the split settings(dynamic) so I can use two cabs for a mix of the sound. Apparently you can select a frequency to 'split' the sound into the two cabs. That way I should be able to control the tone with my tone control know on the guitar. Add more high and the other cab kicks in. And when/if I can get that to work I can even put the split before the amp and add one more amp to respond to the dynamic split. To be continued... :)
  8. Thanks. I am already working with that solution yes, I may need a treble bleed on my ES335 style guitar. For the rest I am indeed working more and more with the volume and tone controls. Sometimes it is easier to just make a snapshot for both pickups but I am trying to get it so that I can do exactly what the great guitar tone folks do. Call it a hobby! :) I have several Pod Go patch packs for sale and now that I have switched to the Helix Floorboard I want to start creating packs for that beautiful machine. And to have something in there that would respond to your pickup settings would - I think - be a great patch for people to work with.
  9. Some additional info for you all ; chatgpt is useless in this case. It advises settings that are not even on the Helix, so that is not perfect.... :)
  10. Hello to all, I could use some help ; When we see someone like Joe Bonamassa playing his Les Paul, we can see that when he selects his bridge pickup the sound is rhythm and quite clean but when he then switches to the bridge pickup he immediately has a soaring lead solo sound. Without touching anything except the controls on his guitar. He often does not activate/deactivate any pedals for this; he just switches the pickup selection and the other sound is heard. I program my own patches, and that goes very very well(and is enormous fun), but I am trying to emulate the behaviour of the amp sound based on the pickup selection. I am getting there slowly but I wonder if you have any tips. So my ideal situation would be that I can switch pickups and get two distinctly different sounds without using snapshots etcetera. So the way people like Joe Bonamassa and other professionals work; they hardly touch the effects(or snapshots) and are still able to switch the sound by just using the controls on my guitar. All input is welcome. Please keep in mind that I am now quite experienced in programming the Pod Go and the Helix(I am also a software developer in real life...). So extremely basic hints and tips, as welcome as the help is, probably will not be very useful. If anyone has a patch I can use as a starting point that would be even better! Hope to get some tips here, thanks in advance.
  11. I use a Helix Floorboard with three guitars that have a completely different frequency spectrum. That means that when I program a patch for the 335-style guitar it will have WAY too much high when i plug in my Ibanez Strat-style guitar. The differences are so big that I cannot correct it by using the tone control on the guitars, which is what I want to be able to do. I know all about eq in the Helix but I do not want to tweak all the time when changing guitars. I do not want to turn on/off specific settings per guitar and I really don't want to make three patches for every sound! The global EQ obviously works for all of the Helix so that is not the solution. For now i have made separate banks for the guitars but that means that improving a patch means doing it three times. I have just bought an eq pedal to put in front of the Helix so I can set that and turn it on when using a specific guitar(so off = 335, on = Strat). So my question is "What is the best way to use multiple very different guitars with the Helix Floorboard?" All useful input will be greatly appreciated.
  12. I love this gear but I CANNOT believe that no one at Line 6 wrote an import / conversion program to upload/import Pod Go patches to the Helix. Obviously you cannot do it the other way around, but this is UpGrAdIng to a Helix! How can you force me to manually recreate 200+ patches on the Helix??? Everything is fantastic about the Line 6 products, but THIS rather sucks.I love this gear but I CANNOT believe that no one at Line 6 wrote an import / conversion program to upload/import Pod Go patches to the Helix.
  13. I now have six patch packs available, The packs can be found here(with audio 'preview' files) : https://payhip.com/RobsPodGoCollection Thank you for reading this, I have attached a patch to this post for your enjoyment. It is an approximation of Steve Miller's sound on his song The Stake. I have made some very simple Youtube videos with more information about some of the pack : Steve Miller.pgp
