  1. I hadn't realised repairs took so long. Can't say I'd be pleased with a wait of 6 weeks.
  2. Just look at the features lists and you'll see there are many significant differences. I think the Mackie was on the market quite a lot earlier than the M20d in the USA and the UK.
  3. I'm not an expert... so some of my beliefs may be inaccurate... but I think the m20d has a lot of capabilities that I don't believe are included in the Mackie. eg Mackie can record the stereo mix - but not the multiple tracks... M20d includes feedback suppression (don't think the Mackie has this)... Mackie does not store gains in its memory... M20d also has the auto gain feature. I think there may be more effects in the M20d (eg vocal doubling etc). The user interfaces are very different. The M20d gives you a choice of an easy interface or the deep tweak mode. On the other hand the Mackie has 16 mic inputs (12 on M20d) and 6 aux outputs (4 on M20d)... and there may be other differences that might be important to you. It's probably best to invest a little time reading the specs for each desk... and then weigh up which features are important to you. Good luck.
  4. Thanks very much for reporting back on your findings. That's very encouraging. Thanks for taking the time to update this, Antonioctd.
  5. Any updates on this topic? Glad to see Davec69's issue appears to be solved... just checking whether everyone else is now able to record - and what tips you can pass on to make sure no one else has issues. Thanks.
  6. Well... I'm confused now. Yes, it's a user forum... but there are Line 6 personnel on here... helpfully answering questions. (and someone mentioned that the project manager monitors this section). It would be nice if the answers to these recording issues were posted here (would make sense for the company as well... because there must be lots of prospective purchasers looking at these pages).
  7. I'm on the verge of deciding whether to buy or not... but this recording issue is one that's making me hold back and consider other options. Also wondering about overall reliability of the hardware... any comments?
  8. Great idea, Davec69. As you say, if the responses are posted here... we all get to learn... so that would mean the Line6 support guys would have to handle fewer calls about the same issue.
  9. Have Don and Arne from Line 6 got any comments on what's happening for these users? I'm currently holding off from buying this mixer. Looks good on paper - but I just want to be sure that the major features that I'm interested in work OK. Reliable recording is something that attracts me.
  10. Hi Pugdealer, Curious about why you expect the Line 6 to be 'at least three times more powerful'. Also just wondering if the pres in the small mixer are the cause of the peaking. The words 'cheap mixer' worry me slightly. Good luck.
