I've read-up tons about Midi etc... and genuinely have no clue how to make it all work; I may just have to take the plunge and figure it out on the go. Re: iPad. Thanks for the suggestions; I have never owned nor care one bit about Apple's ecosystem. I really need/want footswitches and physical hardware here. This does sound like it'd be pretty cool onstage, to change presets between songs etc... though!

Hi! Before I start some more threads, a few high-level questions... * Can FS1 + 2 be re-assigned, the way 3 (+ 4, 5) can? Right now, it seems not, but is it ever planned? * Can the Tuner be decoupled from the Tap button? * I'd like for the Tuner to ALWAYS be available on a long-press of FS3, but I do not need the Tap button at all * I'd settle for re-assigning the Tuner to a long-press of FS4 or FS5 but that's not in the options Cheers!

Currently I'm using a Boss FS6, but I need more than 5 switches overall. I'm thinking I'd like this to be my ideal setup: 3 x footswitches for 3 x presets 2 for stomps 1 for another stomp, Tap/Tuner, or snapshot down, whatever I could use the unit's switches to bank up/down and select presets in Play mode, but then I'd still want some control over stompboxes. I feel that it'd be more flexible to keep the Bank up/down + preset selects on the HX, and use the external controller permanently mapped to blocks (for example), 1, 2, and 4 (with the amp in 3). It looks as if Midi will do it however I am a COMPLETE noob there. I'm looking at: * Tech21 Midi Mouse (from my limited experience, it looks like it may store entire presets, but not individual change commands?) * Disaster Area 3 * insert your suggestion here! I genuinely have no idea how to program all of this. But I suspect that once Helix Edit supports PC, it will be much easier and be a perfect opportunity to learn. Thanks for any insights!

Thanks! And I can confirm, it works just fine. I can use these buttons for any of the options available under Global Settings. Weird thing is: * I can't reassign FS1/FS2, those are always doing whatever the Play mode is * I can't assign the Tuner to any other buttons' long press; it's stuck forever with the Tap tempo and hence takes up another extra switch The last part is particularly jarring: with so little footswitches given the complexity of the unit, why sacrifice one for Tap tempo as condition to get the tuner? Not everyone uses that function while a tuner is much more universal (albeit many players have external units; but making the unit's tuner available on any switch's long press negates the need for an external tuner).

I just ordered an HX Stomp, and even though I have 0 experience with the Helix (I'm an AX8 user), I was thinking of using a spare Boss FS6 I have to get 5 footswitches rather than 3 (I think the math adds-up there...). I know the unit isn't out yet :) And I DID read the manual, but I'm a little confused about it. For example, it mentions the footswitches can only be used to switch between a Min/Max value of a given parameter? Hence I am assuming the way this works is similar to existing Helix units. If I'm wrong, may Zeus strike me down right now. What I'm trying to achieve is: * Unit's footwitches for 3 channels, i.e. any 3 preset per bank (1+2 and 2+3 together to change banks) * Keep footswitch 3 on the unit for the tuner, when using a long press * FS6 toggles 2 effects on/off for each preset (typically, mod + OD) This brings the Stomp to how I setup the AX8, with a much simpler and smaller setup overall. I don't ever use many more sounds, and if I do they can be on at all times (e.g. Reverb, Comp). Will this, or a similar variant, be a possibility? Cheers for indulging my impatience! :D
