You can't connect Helix Rack directly to your Focusrite via USB. Audio cables, fine, and both units to your Mac/PC via separate USB cables, fine, but even if the Focusrite has USB hubs (not sure if it does), Helix won't support it.

The only Guitar Centers authorized to sell Helix (at least right now) are Platinum stores. IIRC, there aren't more than 15-20 Platinum GCs nationwide. Unfortunately, it's gonna be a while before anyone can just walk into any of the 200+ GCs and pick up Helix.

Something's weird. You're right—MIDI is MIDI. Any way you could take a look at exactly what the X3 is spitting out in something like MIDI OX?

Very odd. Just one MIDI cable from your X3's out to Helix's MIDI in? Anything else in the chain? Is Helix connected to your computer via USB at the same time?
