Need Real Answers Before A Jtv69 Purchase!
chstd replied to linea06's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
i will try to explain again.. Think about 2 individual patches that has different guitar modelings..One is a high-gain amp with lester model, and the other is clean amp tone with spank model..When you change the preset, amp models and the guitar models will be changed..How can you do that by FS switch? As long as you stay in the same preset you can't change the amp for clean tone or you can't immediately change the guitar modeling. It's possible now with pod hd500 and does it fast enough for me but the noise makes everything horrible.. -

the point is not the output volume level, it's about the gain amount..The 89's modeling has low gainy sound than the original pickups..It supposed to be screaming hot and should has more gain as it's own magnetics.. -

It's a problem for me, i have hard changes in songs that i have to change distortion to clean immediately, so i can't mute the guitar for a second.. With this technology it is impressive to play distortion tones of one guitar model and good fender clean tones in another model on the same device but i think it's ridiculous trying to defend the small issues by trying not to seeing them. The technology and the capability of this brand is amazing and they can easily fix this i think. But if we don't say or talk about the issues or we say that it isn't a problem, the software won't be improved... And i noticed another thing on my JTV-89F..The magnetic pickups are really gainy and hot but when i activate the system and choose the JTV-89' s own modeling, it drops the gain a little, not too much but slightly disturbing my ears and my playability..The lester model and it's own model has less gain on modeling. Maybe gibson guitars have lower output pickups, i don't know about their pickups but i think the jtv-89' s own modeling should have more gain and hot output so we will be able to use the same preset settings on the model and the original magnetic pickups..So, pod series have real hi-gain amp models in them and i think there should be real hi-gain guitar model in the device too.. -

the software issue isn't just tone preference. It makes noise when changing presets on podHD500. For example while you are playing a distortion part with lester model, if you have to change to a clean preset maybe with a telecaster model, it makes a loud popping sound while changing. It is not possible to use it live by changing presets via pod hd500... -

Jtv 89-f Model Sound Issue
chstd replied to chstd's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
i tried to lower the global string volume and tried lowering single string, tried picking lighter and changing the position of picking hand but no difference.. If the piezos are sensitive, why lighter picking still sounds the same. And i noticed that in lester model on 5th switch position it sounds way better but the other lester models, custom1, spank, tmodel are really bad. I am really confused but i can't be sure if it's about hardware or software problem and the service doesn't know well about how the guitar should sound... And yes i reinstalled the firmware couple times. -
Jtv 89-f Model Sound Issue
chstd replied to chstd's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
the sound problem is exactly same with the one on this topic. There is a sound clip and on the second part you can hear the noise. http://line6.com/support/topic/5626-plinky-plonky-sound-when-palm-mute-chugging/ -
I have a Jtv 89-F and i have a problem with the model sounds. When i play with the magnetic pickups the guitar sounds fantastic but when i activate the modeling, i hear a weird noise while playing, especially very loud on the 6th string, sounds like clanging. It doesn't do it on the acoustic models but even on its own modeling (own jtv 89-f guitar model in custom bank) and very very hearable on the lester models, the gain slightly lowers and it clangs. I tried to lower the string volumes on editing program but nothing has changed.. I don't think it's about a hardware problem because it doesn't do on the acoustics but its very bad on electric guitar modelings especially for a player like me love to play really high gain tones with my podhd 500. I will be very glad if you know any solutions to fix this problem.

chstd replied to Stueyd's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I have jtv89f for a week and i love it.. And it has a problem i wonder if other owners know about...The floydrose arm doesn't seem to be properly tight even i thighten the swrew sll the way up. It stays where i want but it makes noise like it is moving in the hole when i move it back and forth...is this a comman problem or the problem is on my bridge arm holder?? -
Trouble Using Jtv-89f With Podhd500
chstd replied to chstd's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I found the solution for variax control, we should choose the input 1 and input 2 on podhd500, any of them shouldn't be as blank...I've chosen them as guitar+variax and i can totally control my guitar now... But as i said in my previous message, on my guitar i'm sure that custom1 bank does not contain high gain models...Variax work bench or podhd500edit doesn't contain any model like highgain and i think the custom2 tone has much more gain than custom1...Anyone can help about this or i think that my guitar has a problem. -
I've been using podhd500 for 1 year and i bought a new jtv-89f variax(software is up to date) and now i have some problems. When i connect the guitar via VDI the presets don't let me to change the guitar models correctly...In podhd500 edit program i choose the variax model and tuning then save it to the preset (variax set is chosen as preset) and then while using this preset i change the modeling from the guitar knob then the tone changes to something weird..Even i close the variax system to play with the guitars own pickups, the sound doesn't change... And in some presets, the settings are like... the vdi input is variax, control is set as preset and the model is 'don't force' and if i try to change the tuning, it start to play a lot of notes from one string like 12 string guitar... Only some presets do that...Anyone can help me how to control exactly the guitar from podhd500... And the custom1 tones aren't like high gain tones on my guitar..Custom2 tones are more like high gain....Can you help finding new line6 high gain tones i'm not sure which presets they are....
