thanks for you're replies. i hadn't thought of just getting a second hand unit if i need to, that is helpful. it's just been working fine for so long how i might need to replace it has never been a thought. for monitoring it is connected via the phone jack to a mixer and in turn to some dedicated monitors, it's not very glamorous but has always worked well. i use audacity for recording. the unit still outputs regular signal if i am to play a music file or whatever, i just get no instrument or microphone signal either in podfarm or elsewhere. the analogue meters work normally for output. if i set them to input they display nothing. i am on windows 7, i've tried multiple cables and usb ports, it's looking like a replacement will be needed unfortunately.

hi, so i've had a ux2 for some years with no issue, until today when i realized it will not receive an instrument input signal. instrument inputs are selected in the mixer screen, instruments and cables i've tried are all known to be working (through use in other amps), meters set to 'input' rather than 'output' shows nothing, all my drivers etc are up to date, i tried turning it off and on again, i tried shutting down, unplugging, re-selecting hardware from podfarm preferences window, no luck. is my unit broken? that would be unfortunate, it has been a while since i bought it so it is probably no longer in warranty, but, i have also purchased model packs, which will be rendered useless if the unit doesn't work. i don't really like the idea of just losing the money i had spent on line 6 products... what should i try next? thanks for any advice
