  1. Hi there everyone, I’ve encountered following issue and I’m a bit desperate of my options. My overall feeling is as if there was a super-narrow-band compressor was set up but that’s not the case of course. HW SETUP: El. Guitar Jack-Jack cable Line6 HX Stomp Dedicated USB Cable USB Hub Mac (Logic Pro) OUTPUT: External headphones (plugged into the Mac) Logic Pro (11.0.1) SETUP: Core Audio: Enabled/Disabled (Doesn’t affect the issue) Input: HX Stomp Output: External Headphones I/O Buffer size: 32/128 Samples (I tried all options, doesn’t affect the issue at all). CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS: I open Logic Pro - Guitar is connected as per above setup I create a new Project or open an existing one I create/choose existing audio (guitar/bass) track I set the input monitoring to hear the sound as I play ISSUE OCCURANCE I strum a chord to test the sound The signal doesn’t go through at al at first. When the strings keep vibrating for about two seconds, signal goes through for about 2 miliseconds, heavily distorted and weak, then cuts off. WHERE IT OCCURS: It only occurs in Logic Pro It DOES NOT occur in GarageBand It DOES NOT occur when plugged to mix during live performance TROUBLESHOOTING DONE: Of course I checked other guitars and cables (duh) I checked whatever I/O setup both on the device and in Logic. I checked all drivers/additionall Line6 SW for requirements I checked manuals: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX%20Stomp%203.0%20Owner's%20Manual%20-%20Rev%20D%20-%20English%20.pdf https://help.apple.com/pdf/logicpromac/en_US/logic-pro-mac-user-guide.pdf I checked tutorial videos for LogicPro Setup: https://youtu.be/7QQN_UFVpbk?si=5EjCNcvVh-wWbzcm https://youtu.be/TNrx8RKEe5M?si=R1DXtR65Aqqa_1Cq https://youtu.be/sGuWLPyI5Dg?si=oMsVwdjYnfO5O74e https://youtu.be/3wwUVlxIwa0?si=HffBZ0dbL_iwxRrL I checked potentially related forums: https://line6.com/support/topic/65761-issues-recording-with-hx-stomp-in-logic/ https://www.reddit.com/r/LogicPro/comments/121eq6b/hx_stomp_w_logic_pro_issue/ SUMMARY: Manuals and video tutorials do not address the issue at all. Basically all the materials only state it should all work in plug&play. Line6 manual even explicitly mentions this. The forums on Line6 mention issues using different setups and the forum on Reddit doesn’t address isn’t followed up. Given the properties of the issue I’m sure this is a matter of LogicPro I/O setup but I haven’t been able to figure out what exactly could it be. Can anybody help/advise?
  2. Sorry if this is a basic ask. I run a few pedals in the STEREO loop of my HX Stomp using mono cables. Most of the pedals are mono but the final pedal before returning to the Stomp is a STEREO Boss looper. If I switch to stereo cabling would I hear an improvement? (Looper is 32-Bit with nice drums hence not using the internal looper). Also, what would happen to the signal when it passes through those MONO pedals (not even sure how you run stereo cables into mono pedals). The Stomp runs balanced outs into a pair of Yamaha active monitors.
  3. Hi there. I am a completely new electric guitarist. I use the PRS SE 245 guitar and the helix stomp. I downloaded a customtone for the Plush song and the Slash sound from line6 website. I left them without changes. I think there is too much distortion in the sound. What could be the reason? I recorded the "Plush" riff on two settings: the first with 6.5 and 10-max on my guitar's volume knob. plush 6.5.mp3 slash.mp3 plush 10.mp3
  4. Hi folks! Having changed from tube amp to the Helix as my main "amp" now, I have a very specific question on monitoring the Helix output. I might want to add, that my band's PA is a good, compact Dynacord PA with EV FOH speakers. Most event stages in my home city are quite small, so it is optimized to save space. For this reason we have only 3 wedges, one for the keys, one for the drums and guitar (this is me) and bass have to rely on the third one. The Helix is going by XLR stereo directly into the PA. Sometimes I unfortunately cannot hear myself well in the mix, so I ordered a Yamaha DBR12 to use it as a Helix signal monitor (Helix 1/4" mono out --> DI-box --> DBR12). I am afraid, that, getting the direct blast from the Helix then, I might not be able to hear my share of the FOH mix from the wedge, I have to share with the bassist (who usually is the man on the mixer, as well). So I thought of the DBR12's second signal path. I could feed it with the monitor mix and mixing down both signal paths (from the Helix and FOH) in a way that the Helix is just slightly louder than the guitar in the FOH mix. So I could - theoretically - be in the clean. But! There is an identlical signal in both signal paths, which is my guitar. Would that lead to problems that the guitar signal could be phasing out? If so, how could I avoid this problem? Getting an individual monitor mix without guitar in it, is, unfortunately, out of reach ... Equally difficult would be a modified signal for the 1/4" output with a delay of a few ms, because on a few presets I use all of the Helix' processor power or signal paths (especially on those, where I use acoustic guitar simulator and electric guitar sound at the same time). What are your experiences? Will the phasing problem occur? If so, how could I solve it?
  5. My Relay G30 was working the last time I tried using it. I pull it out of my case to use it at rehearsal the other day, and the receiver was not showing any transmitter status lights, and there was no sound. I tried changing to different channels, tried changing from RF1 to RF2. The Transmitter audio light was reacting when I played on my guitar, so I know it was receiving signal from the guitar. The receiver just isn't getting anything. Any suggestions?? P.S. I am out of warranty at this point.
  6. This seems like a simple problem, but I haven't found any sufficient answers through my two hours of scouring the internet! Needless to say, it's driving me a little crazy. It was working just fine less than 24 hours ago! There is no sound whatsoever coming out of my speakers or headphones (each plugged in to the appropriate ports). Monkey is all updated; green checks everywhere. Output knob and phones knob are at maximum. Input/Output in Mac preferences is set for UX2. I've tried switching out usb cables and trying different ports. Tested headphones and speakers on other devices, they work. The only thing that changed was that I pulled out the usb cable and put it into a usb hub for a moment, then took it out and put it right back into the mac directly (I forgot, no hub with the UX2). Right after that, it stopped working correctly. Also, when I try to use logic pro X and gearbox, it doesn't register any sound coming from the mic, and when I try to play back something I recorded just a few days ago using the exact same settings, I get this message: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI Sample Rate 23482 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. I use a mac with OSX 10.9.1, fully updated. The UX2 has power, the meters are at min and don't move, and the clip lights seem to be stuck on to orange.
  7. Hi musicians i have recently start working with POD FARM 2.5 some software and it’s a great plugin. When I decided to send my waves to friends who like to mix they ask me to also send them with the dry signal. I’ve searched quite a bit around the Webb and I haven’t found an explanation on how to either switch between dry/and wet OR how to record both. I’m using Cubase 5.0 ( I know it’s old but works for me) so I’m taking a chance to see if anyone here knows how to do that. cheers tim
  8. Hey all. This is going to sound dumb but I would love to get some (constructive) thoughts on this... I use my POD HD500X as a pedalboard for its great reverbs, delays, overdrive, modulation, etc. through my VHT Special 6 Ultra combo for guitar and pedal steel guitar. My pedal steel does not have an onboard tone or volume control, which is pretty common for those. Many players use a compact preamp mounted to their steel guitar so they can make tweaks to volume and tone on the fly. I don't intend to use amp emulation most of the time but I may do it on occasion to go direct to the board at church or a gig. Question: what is your best method to use the HD500X as a pre-amp? Subquestion: can I use the hardware knobs to modify treble/mid/bass/presence/volume (sound) without emulating an amp or cabinet? Subqueston: can this be done without using a pedal chain slot? Currently I am using the HD500X with Studio/Direct output mode and input Z set to 3.5m or 1m to neutralize any color to the signal (many, many thanks to @hurghanico for their invaluable advice!) . But I'd like to be able to shape the tone and maybe add a little boost, ideally without using one of the available blocks in the pedal chain. May you have a very Merry Christmas, strong health and the unmistakeable peace of the presence of the Lord this season!
  9. I'm absolutely losing my mind here. I run the live sound desk for my local Church, and we've just upgraded from an Analogue desk setup to a fully digital one. This is our setup: Desk: Behringer X32 Compact (with the UltraNet snake box thing - I can't remember the model) Microphones: XD-V55 Wireless Mics (6 Headset, 1 Handheld) IEMs: LD Systems MEI1000G2T (UHF) The school we hire for services has been gracious enough to allow us to install Cat5 along the walls for UltraNet, however with the wireless XD-V55s, the signal keeps dropping - every 5 minutes or so, which is great when we record the Sermons to be uploaded as a podcast. Unfortunately, the school has Wireless Mesh WiFi - which conveniently runs on the 2.4GHz spectrum (the same as the mics), and conveniently spans the entire spectrum (leaving 0 channels out of the required 7 for the microphones). We can't exactly ask the school if they can turn off the WiFi, because they actively use it all the time with cameras and the like. Our Microphones currently run on (mostly) the odd numbered channels (1, 3, 5, 9, 11 and 13, with the last headset on 12), and I have no idea what frequencies the IEM transmitters are running on at the moment because it wasn't me who set them up and I haven't had a chance to look at them. Do you guys have any suggestions as to how we can mitigate these drops? I'm completely stuck here.
  10. Hello to everyone! I am thinking of buying the Helix Hx Effects for one purpose (among others) I want to recreate the "feel" of a second guitarist, and by reading and searching other subforums here, I haven't come to an end. My way of thinking is simple 1. guitar to the HX 2. split the signal with a (HX) delay of eg. 20ms-1repeat in 2 amps having the 2nd amp giving back just the feedback. (the "2nd" guitarist is created) 3. Having a (HX) harmonizer on, fully panned so amp1 plays the note I am playing (dry signal) and amp2 just the "harmonized" note. (the "2nd" guitarist is playing his "seperate" part) 4. Add a new delay along with the existing one in order for both the dry and the harmonized lead parts to sound better. (the 2nd guitarist has a tasteful sound) 5. Using something like the 4 cable method (or more) to switch the channels of both amps with a press of 1 button on the HX. (control all of the above features in amps and HX with one button) 6. Use the distortion and clean channels on the amps and use the HX just for the effects (not the distortion modelling etc) Is this possible? Is there someone who has tried it? Is there something I am missing about the connections? Any help and suggestions will do PS. I take it for granted that the "suggestion" "find another real guitarist" has already been considered and can't work at the moment :P Thanks in advance.
  11. Hello, I was wonderwing if with the HX Stomp i can get 1 signal chain with effects/amp modeling/IR impulse to go to the FOH, and a second signal with just effects/amp modeling to my power amp and cab (so without IR impulse). Thanks in advance!! Greetz Wouter
  12. hi, so i've had a ux2 for some years with no issue, until today when i realized it will not receive an instrument input signal. instrument inputs are selected in the mixer screen, instruments and cables i've tried are all known to be working (through use in other amps), meters set to 'input' rather than 'output' shows nothing, all my drivers etc are up to date, i tried turning it off and on again, i tried shutting down, unplugging, re-selecting hardware from podfarm preferences window, no luck. is my unit broken? that would be unfortunate, it has been a while since i bought it so it is probably no longer in warranty, but, i have also purchased model packs, which will be rendered useless if the unit doesn't work. i don't really like the idea of just losing the money i had spent on line 6 products... what should i try next? thanks for any advice
  13. I just bought a hybrid guitar which has two separate outs. One for Piezos and one for humbuckers. But I use one full path for vocal as well. Can anyone think of a way to create a quazi-dual preset chain on a single path? I do have a stand alone A-B-Y pedal too but I'm not sure that can help. Essentially I want to setup different blocks with different EQs etc. For each output on a dual output guitar , - but I can't use my second Helix path because to is dedicated to vocal. P.S. I think the answer lies in using a full stereo path, but I'm just not smart enough to figure it out. Lol.
  14. Here is what I am looking for... I'd like to run two amps (one for clean tone, one for dirty tone w/ possible tube screamer), and be able to alternate between the two. Initially, I was thinking of running dual signal path for this, and then setting everything to the same switch (pressing the switch turns on dirty amp mod and tube screamer, and turns off clean amp and vice-versa), but I would need the unused path to be muted. I would assume the other way to do it (in the same patch) would be to run the amps in series. I am running a mono output, so I don't need stereo signals. I'd rather not have to set a different patch (in each block of 4) for each different tone in a song. And I would also be concerned about the delay between switching (the firehawk was a nightmare with this, I didn't keep it long...). I'm new to the PODHD world, and I've only been able to spend a few hours with the HD500x thus far. If anyone can give me good insight into how to set this up, I'd appreciate it. For a little more info, I'll be leaning towards the higher gain amps for my dirty tone (Fireball, Elektrik, etc.), and so far I'm liking the blackface for my cleans. My amp rig is a 6505 on an 212 orange cab with vintage 30s. I love my dirty tone from the amp, but I'm currently just using it as a power-amp to see what the HD can do. I find running it into the effect return on the head sounds much better than the instrument line in on the front.
  15. Could someone out there please explain to me in a simple step by step manner how to set up a 1 into 2 Routing as seen on page 18 of the Line 6 Helix Manual? I'm not the most tech savvy person and maybe owning a Helix is a mistake altogether on my part but I'm finding the manual does a great job of showing you all the cool stuff Helix you can without actually explaining how to do it. Any advice others may have would be greatly appreciated and feel free to explain things as you would to a 4 year old because that's how I'm feeling at the moment. Cheers!
  16. There are a few threads that talk about dual paths, 4 stereo paths, etc. This is a beginner question but can someone explain how to make a basic stereo preset i.e.: what the split is and how they're set on paths, how many amps or cabs, how the output and mixers are set? I have no idea where to begin as I just run the helix into the front of my amp.
  17. Hello, anyboy have any luck recording a HELIX wet and dry signal on seperate tracks similtaniously in Reaper? I'm trying to get a dry siginal recording In Reaper via USB 7-8 but for the life of me can find how to select USB 7-8 in Reaper...
  18. Hello everyone. I have a signal problem with my XD-V75 model. I have a digital mixer (X32 Compact) and I connect it to a TP-Link router to control it from my tablet. The problem is if I have my router powered on, the signal of microphone is interrupted often. Practically, I cannot sing. I changed the router's channel, signal power, microphone's channel... It has this comportment on each channel. I don't know what to do anymore...
  19. Hi, I've had my G30 for almost a year. Recently I've been experiencing signal loss from the transmitter during gigs...not good. The LED's on the transmitter go off completely, and what I have to do is shake it around, press the battery door, open it, close it, whatever I have to do until eventually it comes back on again. It must be something to do with the battery compartment/connection issue. I've tried using elastic bands around it to try and keep the door firmly closed but that didn't seem to work. Everytime I've replaced batteries I have opened and closed the door the correct way by using the clip. This is really frustrating because it is happening at every gig now, and is really embarrassing especially when it happens during important guitar parts. I bought it from Thomann.de, so before I return it I want to see if people have had the same problem and if they rectified it? Or if there is something I am overlooking. Thanks, Dave.
  20. Hey guys, first, i hope i am right here with this Topic!? My Problem, or quetion is.. can i record Di. Tracks while i am recording my normal Guitar (through the 500x)? I have a seperate DI Box, so my signalchain is like this: Guitar -> DI Box -> DI Output 1 -> HD500x Gutiar input---> ONE Signal.. but i need two seperated .. DI Output 2 -> HD 500 Vocal input---^ ..one for the distored guitar and one direct clean signal.. is it possible to do that? Or is there any other way? I hope u can help me! greeting, Michael
  21. Hello, I have two XD-V55 units rack mounted side by side. I notice that the one with the lapel mic goes from 100% signal to 0% and then then back to 100% randomly. It's as if the unit is searching for a better channel or something. It is never more than 30' away and has true line of sight. The last time it did it, I was literally ten feet away from the rack and it was doing it every couple minutes the entire time I used it. It has done this since I've had it (maybe a year and a half?). I only use it about 6 times per year but it is used for wedding ceremonies, so it's very embarrassing when the officiant is talking and it keeps cutting in and out. Of course everyone looks at me thinking I'm messing something up. I've been meaning to look into this for a long time, and I'm finally getting around to doing it. The one with the mic works fine. I also tested the TBP12 transmitter with a guitar cable to eliminate a mic issue, and it does the same thing. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions?
  22. Hello, Maybe someone can help me with some suggestions. I've had a Line6 G50 Relay for about a month. I am a bass player with a classic rock cover band. I've played a couple gigs with the G50, and have issues with RF signal strength creating some quick intermittment dropouts. The gig last week saw me lose signal multiple times during the 90 minute set. I can actually see the RF signal strength lights go all the way down, and then come back. I haven't seen any red lights. - I'm using the supplied Line6 power supply - I'm using new alkaline batteries with the transmitter - Transmitter is secured to guitar strap (not in back pocket) - I've used analog UHF systems in the past with no issues However, I also am using a Galaxy AS1100 for my "in ear" monitors. The overall signal from my Galaxy is NOT dropping, as the rest of the band is staying clear in my "in ears". My band is also running a Presonus digital mixer, and we have a wireless hotspot setup for running our own monitor mixers via Presonus apps on our mobile devices (I keep my iPhone 4S in my pocket opposite side of the G50 transmitter). We have one guitar player who is using a Line6 G30 system. He has a little trouble with signal strength, but doesn't seem to be having as much trouble as myself. I'm trying to find that "sweet spot" where I can run my systems without interference (assuming it is possible). I've been seeing some comments about "line of sight" and the G50 system, so I'm wondering how "restrictive" that concern needs to be (do I need to be right in clear sight of the antennas at all times - that doesn't seem very convenient). I've been putting the unit on top of my combo amp (a GK MB212-II), so it is about 3ft off the ground. The antennas have been pointing at "noon" and "6pm", as opposed to "10am" and "2pm" - could that matter? I was told to put the receiver higher up, but I'm not coming up with a good way to accomplish this. Currently, I'm running "channel 2" and have been trying the "RF1" signal setting (it was originally "RF2", and I changed it per other Line6 tech suggestions on the forum). I talked to a Line6 rep who said the lower channel were better choices, but maybe I'm conflicting with the router/hotspot at the mixer? I know there is quite a bit here to deal with, but I keep hearing that the G50 and Line6 are the best digital wireless systems out there, so I'm thinking I just need to find the right settings. I've been running analog wireless systems for years, and love the technology. I've also had the Galaxy "in ear" system for almost a year, without any issues (when using my previous guitar wireless UHF system). Definitely beginning to get a tad frustrated with my move to digital guitar wireless. So many possible issues. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  23. Hello, i have a problem with dry signal recording with podhd500. I use podhd500 as audio interface, i record my dry guitar tone by disable all processes in podhd500 and by switch to tunner mode. After hear 2 sound demo, i find that dry tone by "tunner mode" sound more cleaner than by "disable all processes". I wonder which is really dry signal... Or anyone can show me a good way to record dry signal with podhd500 as audio interface?
  24. Hello, I can't find the specifications for my HD500x outputs... Does anyone know what is the impedance and max output of the unbalanced output (at "Combo/Stack power amp" output setting)?
  25. Hi all, I feel obligated to point out that I'm new here, but also to defend myself by stating that I've had my Pod HD500 for quite a while now. Moving on For one of my seemingly simpler patches, I use a gated reverb at the core (screencap attached). After I dialed the noise gates in and all, it sounded ideal, but only on mid-low-range notes, to which I tailored the gates. When I play some high notes, the noise decays differently, so the effect is not quite uniform. My question is: is there any way I can have separate noise gates for high frequencies and low? I'm starting to think more EQ's, one on each leg of the split channels, might have something to do with it. Is my brain simply spacing out on something simple, or is what I'm trying to do impossible? Thanks a million for reading my pleas, and a million+1 if you help me out :D
