  1. Guys, I have this problem, I just bought it, the product is new and the first time I try to use it, it is completely locked, letting me understand that it is shorted. Below I leave a video demonstrating what happens.
  2. Hello, I have an AxSys 212. It has gotten relatively little use. The foot switches never lasted long and that is a major frustration. I am looking at $80 or so to replace them all and perhaps purchase extras on top of that. The one supplier that Line 6 provided perpetually shows the switches out of stock as well. I purchased every spring available from a spring supplier. After excessive experimentation it seems that only the exact spring used will work as a replacement. I am not cheap in fact I will cut whatever check it takes to make something happen right. But for this poorly designed switch it seems like any money spent is good money chasing a bad result. I am not at all familiar with midi. I would like to know if I can hook up a Windows PC or even an iPhone to the amp. Truly I just need to easily switch through the presets with a controller remote to the amp. I gather from some of the other posts that a USB to midi cable is a fairly generic cable but that communication might require something like the custom software patch that is floating around here. I guess if that has forward compatibility to any cheap say Win 10 laptop or tablet, I would consider that. I figure (correct all of my assumptions) that I could have an amp builder create a controller and that would probably cost similar to the Floorboard, several hundred dollars. Between that and purchasing two of Boss's latest effects, the controller again would be a poor value to me. It would kill me to sell this amp off for its current paltry values. I would kill me to throw something a great, highly usable amp into a landfill. It also kills me recalling the handful of gigs I had throughout the years where I nearly put my foot through the floor but could not get the channel to switch. Thank you for your advice and opinions. I am a technical professional so I understand tech personalities and you will never hurt my feelings. Lay the whole world of truth and opinions on me, that is what I am here for. I greatly appreciate it.
  3. Hi everybody, I have a spider V, but i wanna buy any footswitch for it, and on the web I found some of second hand. I found: - Shortboard MK1 - Old floorboard - FBV express mk1 I believe those aren't incompatible with spider V, but these have the same connector what footswitch compatibles, Why are incompatible?
  4. Hi guys! I'm brand new to the Helix world and just purchased the Floor. I've just one question (for now): is there any way to change the setting of the FS6 so that instead of the Stomp view, i can choose between presets? "Normal" view is 4 stomp and 4 snapshots, then with FS1 and FS7 i can roam between presets, but could be easier if i can switch to a 8 - presets view (mostly for jamming). If FS6 can't be redirected on presets view, do you have any set-up suggestion to have everything with a couple maximum of touch away? Thanks and keep on rockin'!
  5. Hey all. This is going to sound dumb but I would love to get some (constructive) thoughts on this... I use my POD HD500X as a pedalboard for its great reverbs, delays, overdrive, modulation, etc. through my VHT Special 6 Ultra combo for guitar and pedal steel guitar. My pedal steel does not have an onboard tone or volume control, which is pretty common for those. Many players use a compact preamp mounted to their steel guitar so they can make tweaks to volume and tone on the fly. I don't intend to use amp emulation most of the time but I may do it on occasion to go direct to the board at church or a gig. Question: what is your best method to use the HD500X as a pre-amp? Subquestion: can I use the hardware knobs to modify treble/mid/bass/presence/volume (sound) without emulating an amp or cabinet? Subqueston: can this be done without using a pedal chain slot? Currently I am using the HD500X with Studio/Direct output mode and input Z set to 3.5m or 1m to neutralize any color to the signal (many, many thanks to @hurghanico for their invaluable advice!) . But I'd like to be able to shape the tone and maybe add a little boost, ideally without using one of the available blocks in the pedal chain. May you have a very Merry Christmas, strong health and the unmistakeable peace of the presence of the Lord this season!
  6. Hiya everyone! Long time reader, first time poster. So I've had a Mk2 Shortboard NIB for years and never had a need for it... until now . However the FBV Control App is giving me an aneurism regarding the tap tempo control using the stomp button. Basically I can't identify which selection of options in the FBV Control App will allow me to control the tap tempo of delays on my Pod HD Pro. All of the others are really simple and self explanatory eg Bank Change, Program change, etc. Even the midi CC control ones make sense. Is this a setting that if I leave the "Tap" button on the floorboard as "Unassigned" then it defaults to delay tempo control for all patches? Or do I actually need to specify this somehow? Because I can't find an option that does that. And if it's a midi trigger, there isn't a 1-127 number mapped to the tap function by default. Pic is of an empty preset since I am at work and don't have the board with me, but everything else is set up on my preset at home except for the tap control. Please help Line6 demigods, I request your knowledge in this time of peril! :D
  7. My original POD has been in store for years due to my travelling Above the socket for the floorboard there is no writing. If I press MANUAL when turning on the POD is says POD 2.0 so I must have put in a new EPROM - inside it has a label "2.3" But I now realise I have made it not compatible with my floorboard :( 1) What pedal board will work with this original POD that has 2.3 EPROM upgrade? 2) Are there any original EPROMs anywhere? Thanks
  8. Here is description how to make working live Helix Native 1.5 rig using laptop. I hope it will help someone. Operating system is Windows 10, Reaper 5 (64) is hosting Helix. Midi floorboard is Vox Tonelab LE. Four bottom switches of ToneLab are switchable to send either Program Changes or Control Changes. There is one Expression Pedal. MIDI OUT from Tonelab is conected to MIDI IN in NI Komplete Audio 6 interface on 64 samples buffer, 48kHz, 10ms Round Trip Latency. Laptop is equipped with two core i5-2430M CPU, 16GB RAM. Heavy presets using all HxN power are giving about 15% of CPU load monitored by Windows Task Manager. Tonelab controls HxN automation Knobs, Switches and Snaphot Indexes by assigning Track FX/FX/Param//FX Parameter List/Learn. This is described in this video: Preset Change's can not be assigned to ToneLab Program Changes using that method, but there are also Reaper "FX Presets" you can store and load. There is "+" menu and "Link to MIDI Program Change"/Channel 1. To switch presets on HxN audio track you have to create another MIDI track. It is described in this video: Incoming MIDI events for that MIDI track 2 must be routed to Track 1. Notice that Preset Changes are causing audio gap. This is why to archive gapless "pseudo amp channel swiching" with adjacent stompboxes and even cabs during playing, HxN snapshots just work better. One floorboard toogle switch sending off/on (0/127) Control Change value can switch between 1st and 8th HxN snapshot. Maybe Reaper "Actions" and "SWS Extensions" can be also helpful but I have no experience using them. I connected only MIDI out of my floorboard so switching it's toggle switches (and their diodes) state backwards is not possible. If you do your setup and save - it is "set and forget". Reaper (unlike eg Pro Tools) stores track arming and starts with last file loaded. Having it working from switching laptop on takes less than one minute.
  9. I recently purchased a floorboard to go with my pre-FBV Pod 2.0. After I play on it for a few minutes it effectively mutes the Pod. No sound comes out of it until I select a channel. When this happens the display on the floorboard shows 0, the display on the Pod goes blank, and the Manual button on the Pod lights up. It doesn't do this immediately after I've touched the floorboard so I don't think I'm pressing the wrong button somewhere. It also fixes itself if I disconnect the floorboard. Any ideas of how to fix this?
  10. So I'm trying to find out if there's a way of using my old floorboard as a midi controller for my MAC (logic/mainstage). Obviously it sends some sort of signal over CAT5 which I could hook up to my MAC but is there any way to get the 2 talking? Anyone??
  11. So, I'm on a tight budget but am looking for a way of creating a foot controller for my Mac MainStage rig. I've got a Line 6 long floorboard and am wondering whether I could hook it up to a POD, then via midi into the Mac. Then use the lovely pedals and buttons to control MainStage. Anyone got any experience or knowledge on this?
  12. Hi I have a line 6 vetta 2 whose output section stopped working while in storage. Anyways I just bought pod farm 2.5 with the studio ux1 interface and I was wondering if there was any way that I could use the long floorboard from the vetta with pod farm?? I don't know how the hookups work I just know that it uses something like a cat 5 Ethernet cable to transmit and receive information. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
  13. Does anyone know if the AMPLIFi can be used with the Fbv 1 shortboard, and if so, what all can it do? I just bought a Flextone 3 amp for fun, but I want to get the floorboard for it soon and I was hoping to be able to use it with the AMPLIFi also.
  14. Has anyone had success (or failure) using old/legacy Line6 Floorboard from POD Pro setup? (see attached picture) I'm considering getting the Amplifi amp and hoped my Floorboard would work. Any suggestions on top 2 pedal options (I like having 2 pedals for VOL and WAH)?
  15. Hello all, I have a POD 2.0 running firmware v2.2 and controlling it with an an original Line 6 Floorboard: I am trying to map my POD 2.0 Floorboard controls so that I can control parameters in Guitar Rig Pro 5. I have seen videos and posts on users using the newer Line 6 floorboard models with Guitar Rig Pro but I have no clue on how to do this with the original POD 2.0 Floorboard. I have my MIDI INs and OUTs connected correctly and Ableton is showing that I am transmitting MIDI signals from my Floorboard. However, I cannot seem to find the right software to manually map the POD 2.0 MIDI CC#'s so that Guitar Rig Pro 5 can see them. For instance, when I move my volume pedal on my Line 6 Floorboard, I would like it to control a knob in Guitar Rig Pro 5. I have installed Line 6 Edit and Line 6 Monkey which I don't think helped my situation. Has anyone done anything similar with the original Line 6 Floorboard? With the amount of POD 2.0's still out there, I'm sure someone has tried to connect their gear with Guitar Rig Pro or Amplitube? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
  16. I have an old Spider 1 Amp and a Floorboard. I haven't touched them for a while, but at some point, it must have broken. The Amp is fine. I turn it on, everything works. I can change all the settings, I get sound. When I plug the floorboard in, the sound disappears. All of the buttons work on the Floorboard in terms of changing the presets. The Tuner mode will turn on, but it doesn't work. I broke the floorboard down and I found out that the plastic strip that is connected to the Volume pedal was bent and not even through the board part like the Wah pedal is. Thinking maybe this was causing the problem, I took the plastic screw and nut off of the Wah and slid the Volume plastic piece back through the board and screwed it in. Still no luck. I initially thought it might be one of the Cat5 jacks, but since signals are getting send back to the Amp from the Floorboard, I wouldn't think it was an issue. Anyone have any other suggestions as to where to look? Thanks!!!
  17. Q: What Line 6 controller works with Line 6 Floorboard and/or the FB4? A: The Line 6 products that are compatable with the Line 6 Floorboard/FB4 are: * Axsys/AX2 * Flextone (I), II combos and heads * POD (I) and II (marked as "pedal", not "FBV), POD Pro * Bass POD and Bass POD Pro * Spider (I) Q: What type of cables are used with the Line 6 controllers? A: The Line 6 controllers use a standard CAT-5/6 cable with standard RJ-45 ends. These cables are very common in data connection and can be found in most local computer outlets. The FBV controllers ship with a black 25' cable included in the box. Q: How long can the CAT-5/6 cable be before I have communication errors? A: We've tested with cable lengths up to 50' with no problems. Q: Can I use a "cross-over" CAT-5/6 cable with Line 6 gear? A: You CANNOT use a "crossover" CAT-5 cable, as it may send voltage to unintended locations of your FBV Controller and damage the unit. Q: I used a new data cable to connect my Floorboard/FB4 controller and I saw smoke? A: It sounds as if you may have used a network "cross-over" cable, which has a different wiring configuration (but the same RJ-45 connection) as a standard CAT-5/6 cable. If this is the case, voltage that was intended to power the the pedal were routed to the wrong place, resulting in damage to the pedal. This FBV series controller will need to repaired/replaced. Q: Can I use a CAT-5 data splitter from my Line 6 unit(s) to run multiple Floorboard/FB4 controllers on stage (or run multiple Line 6 units from a single controller)? A: No, The FBV controller was designed to work on its own with a single amplifier. Q: How do I activate the trem/chorus button on my Floor Board? A: In order to activate the TREM/CHORUS effect while in the Floor Board's EFFECT ON/OFF mode, the chosen program (or Channel) will need to have the desired effect already programmed into it, but in the off the position. To do this, simply select the desired program, add and adjust the desired Tremolo, Chorus, Flanger or Rotary effect, engage the EFFECT ON/OFF mode on the Floor Board and then turn the effect off with the TREM/CHORUS button. Now, with the effect turned off, press SAVE twice. The program is now stored with the desired effect and effect settings, but in the off position. This effect can now be toggled on and off using the TREM/CHORUS button when the Floor Board is in EFFECT ON/OFF mode. Q: Can I use the Line 6 Floor Board as a MIDI controller to control other MIDI effects units? A: The Line 6 floorboard is not a dedicated MIDI controller for multiple units. Line 6 units that have midi outputs can send midi program change information. You can then simply connect the midi out jack from the Line 6 device to the midi in of the device that you wish to control. Be aware that there is no MIDI channel control and you may need to perform MIDI mapping within the second unit. Q: I am not able to get a Wah or Volume Sweep on my Line 6 Floorboard? A: 1. Check the photoelectric strip running under the wah pedal to make sure it is not ripped or torn. If it ripped it will need to be replaced. If it is not seated correctly, you may be able to manually adjust it. 2. Replace the ethernet cable connecting your floorboard to your unit. It is a standard category five ethernet cable with two male rj45 connectors. 3. Re-seat the cable in the jacks of the floorboard and amp. Q: I can not get my floor board to switch to the Presets, I try to hit the two switches simultaneously but it never goes to "P" only to "U"? A: If you are using the Floor Board with a POD, Spider or Flextone II, this function is not available as all of the presets in these units are "U" (User Presets). This allows you to edit and store over all of them. Q: The Volume and/or the Wah Pedal on my Floor Board squeaks when I move it. What can I do to fix this? A: If the squeak you're hearing is more like a mechanical squeak, it could simply be a case of adjusting the screw and nut that mount the pedal to the Floor Board. Another simple solution may be to apply a small dab of 3-and-1 oil on the screw and nut that mount the pedal to the Floor Board. Q: How do I calibrate my Line 6 Floorboard? 1) Remove the six bottom screws and four side screws 2) Locate the green PCB directly underneath the pedals (you will see the pedal controls with white plastic sticking out). 3) There will be two small set screws on the lower right of the pedal controls. Use these screws to adjust the pedal control by listening and adjusting to your preference. The amp and pedal will need to be powered up, so be careful when performing this adjustment. If you you are still having difficulty after trying your unit with a different CAT-5 cable and Line 6 unit, take your Floorboard/FB to your nearest Line 6 Service Center.
