  2. Hiya everyone! Long time reader, first time poster. So I've had a Mk2 Shortboard NIB for years and never had a need for it... until now . However the FBV Control App is giving me an aneurism regarding the tap tempo control using the stomp button. Basically I can't identify which selection of options in the FBV Control App will allow me to control the tap tempo of delays on my Pod HD Pro. All of the others are really simple and self explanatory eg Bank Change, Program change, etc. Even the midi CC control ones make sense. Is this a setting that if I leave the "Tap" button on the floorboard as "Unassigned" then it defaults to delay tempo control for all patches? Or do I actually need to specify this somehow? Because I can't find an option that does that. And if it's a midi trigger, there isn't a 1-127 number mapped to the tap function by default. Pic is of an empty preset since I am at work and don't have the board with me, but everything else is set up on my preset at home except for the tap control. Please help Line6 demigods, I request your knowledge in this time of peril! :D
  3. Hello all...............I am just getting back into guitar in my mid-40s after taking a VERY long sabbatical. MUCH has changed during my MANY years off. I just picked up my first electrical guitar last week (a nice Charvel!!) but have NOT purchased an amp yet. Having owned MANY JMP45s back in the day as well as Rivera Knuckleheads (killer cleans), plus cabinets, not to mention a couple of racks full of rack mounted gear (Rocktron, Soldano, VHT, etc), I know how expensive AND expansive gear can quickly become when you don't want just one tone but rather ALL tones!! My primary influences were the glam hair bands of the 80s (Def Leppard, Tesla, Cinderella, Poison, etc) as well as classic rock (Bad Company, Free, AC/DC) etc but I LOVE clean sounds and some heavy Metallica like sounds as well. Part of what appeals to me is the ability of the community to create and share. Being able to download tones created by others is very appealing when you seek various tonal qualities. My playing will probably just be confined to home for personal enjoyment/relaxation only. I don't see doing gigs in my future. Been there done that. So, I don't think I need nor can I afford a room full of Marshalls, Mesas, Bogners, Soldanos, Diesels, etc. I can't believe I might be able to get a boat load of tones from a modeler now. Modelers had (*IMHO*) very little real world use (*such as practice when you were traveling and couldn't have your amps with you) when they first came out. Now, I am excited to think I might be able to actually do this and keep it to one room of the house, not break the bank, AND be happy with having MANY GOOD (if not EXCELLENT) tones. I was lucky to find Glenn Delaune's YouTube video and his custom artist presets. The quality and range of tones in his video are what is driving me towards Line 6. However, I really like the idea of keeping my gear in a rack (otherwise, it will be everywhere because, well, frankly, I'm just a slob). Therefore, I would prefer an HD Pro, but have not ruled out the HD500/HD500X. HERE is my question (finally, you long winded dirtbag!): will custom artist presets created for the HD500 and/or HD500X work on the HD Pro rack mount modeler? I have read that all of the HD, HD500, HD Pro and HD 500X presets are all interchangable by simply renaming the file extension. .hbe (bean) .h5e (HD500) .5Xe (HD500X )or .hre (POD HD Pro) so they would probably work but I would like to confirm. Does anyone know? Is this a factual assumption? I would prefer to keep everything racked if possible. However, if they do not, then I am looking at a used HD500 or possibly HD500X. I wasn't sure if there was any technical differences in the rackmount Pro and the floor model 500/500x that would allow or prevent patches from one to work on the other. Thanks in advance!! Looking forward to getting back into this!!!!

    POD HD series and FBV3

Although the FBV 3 is fully compatible with the POD HD, POD HD Pro, and POD HD Pro X, the footswitch labels do not line up with the corresponding functions as compared to the FBV Shortboard MKII. The FBV 3 has been redesigned and it no longer has a Function 2 footswitch. What previously was assigned to the Function 2 switch on the Shortboard MKII is now done with FS 1 (Set List Select Mode On/Off) on the FBV3. The footswitches that were labeled Stomp, Modulation, Delay, and Reverb from the Shortboard are now FS 2 - FS 5 on the FBV3. Function 1 (Looper Mode On/Off) remains the same between both pedals. Also, when assigning stompboxes to footswitches, the POD will not correlate to the FBV 3, it will be off by one. So FS 1 on the Pod corresponds with FS 2 on the FBV3, and FS 2 on the POD is now FS 3, etc. See the figure below for an example.
  5. Yeah let's vote this up so the Helix gets more IRs :D But jokes aside I'm with you!
  6. Early 2015 we recorded a song with the HD Pro. Now, the same song we re-recorded a few weeks ago with the Helix: guitars, bass and vocals. My conclusion: there's just nothing bad you can say about the Helix :) Listen to the difference: HD Pro: https://soundcloud.com/amazing_air/all-the-strangers Helix https://soundcloud.com/amazing_air/all-the-strangers-helixx
  7. Don't know if it's ok to post in two threads (moderators, sorry), but will try my luck. Hello everyone, I'm quite new to the MIDI thing. Say we have two PODs (X3 Pro and HD Pro) in a band and we want the DAW to change programs/presets automatically on both units. From what I've learned I need two midi tracks in my DAW. One set to Channel 1 (X3 Pro), one set to Channel 2 (HD Pro). Corresponding channels are set in the System settings of both PODs. The routing is the following: DAW (Logic Pro X) --> USB to midi cable --> X3 Pro midi in --> X3 Pro midi out --> HD Pro midi in. Problem Markers in midi track 1 (X3 Pro) do make changes on Pod X3, but markers in track 2 (HD Pro) do nothing. The only way it works is setting HD Pro to Channel 1 as well, but then changes are made simultaneously to the same preset (1A on both with program value set to 0, for instance), which is not quite usable. Any ideas?
  8. I currently have a Toneport UX2 but I have a chance to get a good deal on a HD Pro X. Im just wondering will I get better tones out of the HD Pro or will it be the same tones just a different interface ?
  9. I purchased my first Line6 POD just a few months ago. Since that time I have found a number of really good amp models and have posted some of them to the CustomTone site (SteveKudlacek). Admittedly, I am new to the modeling game, but I am fascinated with the ability to build all of the amps that I could never afford to own. Some of the models are really accurate. My fascination continues... But because there is really no ranking system - number of downloads does not equal satisfaction - I wanted to know what are some of your favorites? If you have a favorite CustomTone, for the HD Pro or Pro X only please, reply with a link here. Also, if you have downloaded some of my patches any constructive criticism here would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve.
  10. Hello, i have a pod pro hd and peak fcb8n. Preset works perfect, but the CC instant button doesn't work correctly. When set up fs1 fs2 fs3... on CC 51,52,53 works good, the cc active and inactive, the problem come when i change the preset, the effects not saved as the FCB8N is indicated. Sorry for my english :( greetings
  11. hello all, I really like my current rig, comprising of Ibanez 321ex with BKP Blackhawks -> Line6 POD X3 live -> Matrix gt800fx -> Blackstar 412 with Celestions V30. It is very versatile, i can change sounds very fast, it has a nice ballsy punch and the x3 live lets me have a home recording device plus floorboard with expression pedal at hand. Also, the dual tone option of the X3 Live is something i really love, and the cab responds awesomely well, specially in stereo mode. However, since I'm upgrading my guitar to a of custom Hapas 7string guitar (set of BKP Juggs), i am thinking in selling my Ibby to finance some possible alterations to my rig. Not sure if it's important, i play prog death, so mostly high distortion, but also some clean and acoustic parts too. One option is to add a rack preamp to the rig, and I've been thinking of a 2nd handed HD Pro or Pro X (an AxeFx is too expensive and i don't think it is worth the extra cost). The idea would be to have the following rack: Hapas custom 7string with BKP Juggs -> Line6 POD X3 live -> (possible wireless system) -> Line6 POD HD Pro (X?) -> Matrix gt800fx -> Blackstar 412 I don't want to lose the versatility and the expression pedal i have with my current rig, and i am not insanely looking into make my sound perfect and flawless. But, with the money available, if i can get a better sound for a small investment whistle keeping the best Can i use the X3 for soundbank changing as well as expression pedal with the HD Pro? Would I be getting a noticeably better tone with this change? How much hassle should i expect out of this? thank you for your comments in advance!
  12. Hi Guys, Wondering if any of the knobs for sale in the "Parts & Acessories" store fit the data knobs below the screen of the POD HD PRO? https://www.globalfulfillment.net/gfsnet/line6/10Browse.aspx Cheers! Scott
  13. I ordered my Pod hd pro from America (i'm from England) and it came with the power cable but it's an American one so it won't fit my plug sockets. I will most likely just get an American to English plug adapter but i was wondering if i can use a kettle lead (power cable) that is 10A 250V for the pod? On the pod above the power input it says 100-240V 50 - 60Hz 100w max so i didn't know if it would overpower it? or break it in some way? I have loads of 250v power cables already so it will be great if i can just use one but if it's going to damage my pod i'll just get an adapter or buy a power cable thats 240v. Any help would be great, thanks Harry
  14. Hello everyone. My name is Jose and foremost apologize for my English. I write to inquire which is the following. I have a Line 6 HD Pro which I am very pleased and have now purchased a FBV Shortboard MKII, but I have a problem and you do not recognize the preset. In Idle MKII only "FBV Shortboard MKII" appears. Did you know where I could get the configuration file to work with the standard parameters that come in the MKII? Thanks in advance.

  17. I tried to do this last night and it sounded really bad. I switched the XLR to the balanced mono on the Pro and the input on the L2M and it sounded a little better. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to turn off the cab sims? Do I put the DSP on the L2M to Line or Electric Guitar? Help!!!!
  18. Hi, I'm trying to do something which I think it not possible, but who knows ? I try to command my Whammy 5 with the Pod HD. What I would like, is the Pod HD to send a specific Program Change command when I select a tone, so I can set the Whammy to a specific program for that tone. I can do it by assigning MIDI to one of the FBV controller switch, but then I have to press it to make the program change. I'd like to skip that part (lazy is my second name) and have it done automatically when I select a tone. Any idea how I might achieve that ? Thanks Olivier
  19. While I'm jamming with my band, it's like my tone starts to fade into the background. I'll turn up, and i'm good again for about a minute, then start to fade away again. Boosted the mids, and again i'm present in the mix again, but then seem to fade into the background. Thought it was the poweramp, but have tried two different poweramps with the same result. I vaguely remember this topic on the old forum, but I could be imagining that. Does anyone know what's going on with my HD Pro?
  20. Q: Why do presets I built from scratch sound different than similar factory presets? A: When creating new presets from scratch and comparing the tone to an existing factory preset with the same settings, please remember to check the mixer settings of that preset to see if they may be different than how you have it set in your own preset.? If the mixer settings of the factory preset are different than the mixer settings of another identical preset, they can both sound different than each other even though they share the same amp model and tone settings. The mixer settings are saved per preset and are NOT global.
