  1. I went to GC the other day and had a chance to play the Spyder V MK2 and was obsessed with the 24B What You Need preset. Was wondering if anyone knew what all the effects were in that preset? I remember being a square chorus, brite room reverb, multihead delay, some sort of synth(i wanna say bit crusher?), and some compressor? I'd just like to know what effects they are and what they are based off of. I am planning on buying a HX Effects and would like to translate the preset onto the HX Effects. Thanks, Auggie
  2. Hi folks, struggling to motivate myself with the Spider Jam amp I have. Firstly, I got it free (unexpectedly) with a second hand guitar I bought; secondly, I got quite excited when I researched info and reviews about it. However, it’s volume control seems to act like a Fender amp, i.e. barely audible 1-2 or 1-3, then effing loud beyond that. Its cleans are ok, where they are clean and not subject to modulation, except the ‘blues - green’ which is excellent. The presets are pretty crap except 50s/60s songs, and those are guitar-dependant for authenticity - everything else sounds very flat or hair-metal inspired. However, in order to fix this you have to deep dive through menus (scant info in either manual downloaded; videos online more like infomercials). This is where my biggest problem lies: the cost of a new and under warranty, never mind mint condition used, fbv3 or fbv shortboard mk2 foot controller is ridiculous for what they are, and almost begs the question of whether to ditch the old tech and buy a Positive Grid Spark, or go for the foot controller (which one works best?) and persevere with the SJ? 3. Hi everybody, I have a spider V, but i wanna buy any footswitch for it, and on the web I found some of second hand. I found: - Shortboard MK1 - Old floorboard - FBV express mk1 I believe those aren't incompatible with spider V, but these have the same connector what footswitch compatibles, Why are incompatible?
  4. Looking for Funky Tones for my Spider IV/75 Watt amp - Something like the rhythm guitar sound on Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry. ‘I also have an FBV Shortboard MKII and searched online but haven’t found it.
  5. Hey everyone! Long time HD Pro user and fan here. So this unit has now been retired to a specific project I'm part of and I was wondering if it's possible to rename banks using the edit software? (Not just the individual patches/presets or the setlist, but the numbered bank that is made up of 4 patches). By default these are assigned number but the act I'm part of now is very FX heavy so it would be great to customize and dedicate a bank of 4 presets to a specific song and have that also show up on my mk2 floorboard for live shows. Anyone who can answer this will be rewarded with a crisp digital high 5 from yours truly! Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi guys, I have googled this problem and scanned the forums and have not seen any solutions. What I want to do is be able to change the ABCD on my pedals in the banks to my own settings. Example: I want to play tool lateralus. (bank1) A) intro B)course C)solo ect. but then switch to bank 2 for the next song. I guess the problem is I do not want the presets that are already in place, I would like to alter them to fit my own playstyle. I cannot plug in the spider jam to my computer as it physically just cant do that. So I am all out of ideas.
  7. Hey there, Before i bought a pod hd, i literally crawled through the web to see whether someone has experience in using the pod with a wireless and/or h&k switchblade combo and control everything with an mk2 shortboard. I didn’t find anything usefull so for anyone out there looking for this setup this is for you. First, my signal chain goes like this: >> XLR-Out >> Mic-In POD HD Pro Guitar >> Wireless Shure SLX14 >>FX Return H&K Switchblade Combo 50 (without -10db) >> Unbalanced Out >> LineL/Mono in POD HD Pro The Wireless is at -10db Mic-Input is at 100% (just to make the setup easier) Bass-Reduction is active -20db is active For the standard patches i use mainly only one pre-amp per patch. Several amps have very...i mean very low output (e.g. the VOX AC 30 TB) i try to figure out if this is my error or by design. Any tip is appreciated. The sound? it’s absolutely fantastic. Much more than i was hoping for. It was actually so good, that i put all my effect pedals aside and don't use a 4CM method. I didn't sell them yet, because the pod has to prove itself road-able. It’s in a SKB-Rack with short cables to the wireless, but it has to take some smashing and staking etc. so, we'll see. For high gains i use sometimes up to 2 noise gates (threshold lower than 40% to avoid weird sounds). The Switchblade is just set to the clean channel, with everything turned off, and the B/M/T/G are in middle position. Maybe you add a tick more presence, since this will give some more punch to the tone. And our technician showed me a glorious trick: If you would like to just add gain, but not volume, assign the drive to the exp. Pedal with your desired value in max. and min. then assign the output of the same distortion effect to the same exp. Pedal, but set the max.-value to e.g. 30% and the min. value to e.g. 100%. You need to twiddle a bit so you get the amount right. With that setup, you add gain and lower output and vice versa. Hope this helped. Cheers exile
