Islandboy
Hi all, I've connected the Sonic Port VX to a Mac (10.10 - Yosemite). The device shows up in input and output ok (in System Preferences). Opening up Pro Tools, the device also shows up under Hardware settings, but I can't get the microphone to be recognised. Yes, there is the option to choose the VX as an input, but that's it. Pro Tools says that there is no in or output when i press the record button and nothing shows up in the input section of the empty audio track to suggest that the Sonic Port has been chosen. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried just about everything I think, but to no avail. I've not installed any drivers or such, because Mac doesn't require them. Is that right? Can the VX just be plugged to a USB and be automatically recognised as a recording device in Mac? That's not happening with me. Thanks! TheRealZap
there is a physical switch on the VX you have to flip too....
silverhead
Also check your Mac's general preferences. On my iPAD I had to go under Privacy and the turn on the Sonic Port mic.
Islandboy
Thanks for the replies! I can get it working no problem in Garageband on the iPad. I thought the switch at the side only determines the type of microphone? I'm on mono at the moment. The dial only controls the gain, no? Islandboy
I'm starting to lose the will now.... I downloaded the Windows drivers and have tried to connect it to Pro Tools 10 there....it says "the selected ASIO audio device could not be initialised. Please choose another audio device" Doesn't this thing want to work for me? It's listed as an option in the Playback engine Panel, but no go! I also tried it with the Asio4all, but nothing is showing up in the input there either within Pro Tools. Yes, I have downloaded and instlled the driver. I have tried flicking all available switches on the device, unplugging and replugging the USB, rebooting etc. This is not really what I call fun :/ I hope that someone can help me, otherwise I might just send it back. Ps. It has never worked in Yosemite OSX either. I just would like to record some vocals within Pro Tools with the inbuilt microphone lol!!! Thanks :)
