BennyRock
so Pro Tools 11 has been here for about a week. it has been known to the world for several months.. yet no matter how hard I search, I can't find anything that says whether Line 6 has even thought about Pod Farm AAX or not.. I know this company has been working on a lot of other things recently, but I'm really not that impressed with their maintenance of PF, which I use quite a bit (there are lots of obvious bugs in the RTAS version that should have been fixed long ago).is this product simply becoming obsolete so that neither Line 6 nor the general public really cares about its future? or are there others like me who love Pod Farm and are desperate to see it keep developing into a solid, modern product?sorry for the rant..-Ben
Triryche
My gut tells me there will be a decent AAX wrapper before Line6 makes PF AAX, pure speculation.
BennyRock
exactly...does anyone else care about this plugin or am i the only one?
Dellers
You're not alone. I kinda need PF to be compatible with PT11 as well. I wouldn't keep my hopes up though, considering the fact that nothing has been said about PT11 or AAX from anyone at Line 6. I tried asking them weeks ago, but didn't get a reply, which kinda makes me feel that they're not gonna make it compatible. If a competitor will be AAX compatible before Line 6 possibly say anything I'll make a switch, since I can't possibly live without a couple of decent guitar plugins. Actually I consider replacing a lot of my plugins these days, where I'll use plugins from companies who aren't so secretive that they don't even mention PT11 while the competitors are already on the market. I don't mind waiting for something I know is coming, but I just can't afford to depend on plugin manufacturers who don't communicate. That applies to a lot of companies these days! Triryche
I would imagine the majority of users that rely on their DAW for their bread 'n' butter will still run PT10 with all their plugs working just fine while they migrate. There was this statement from Line6 a while back: http://line6.com/support/message/322785#322785 You can submit requests/ideas here:http://line6.ideascale.com/
Djames84
I phoned Line 6 earlier today regarding this topic. they called me back and left a message saying that they wont disclose current of future developments regarding this matter. I really want them to get this going. My speculation is that they are going to make us pay for it with a Pod Farm 3 upgrade which is fair enough, but it'd be nice if they could be up front about it. I also got ahold of IK Multimedia with regard to their support of AAX on several plugins and they were up front to say that they're SampleTank 2.5 and plugins of the same series won't support AAX because they're getting ready to release the upgrade. Why the secrecy Line 6?
lightwing
Amplitude 3 was just released and is AAX 64 for ProTools so there is the competitor. :)
FarmerDave
FWIW - Any plug-in that gets my money going forward has to be PT11 ready. I'm happy enough (and hope) to give Pod Farm some of it. :) Native AAX is fine (for me).
