moetsch123
Hello. Have a longboard that works great with my POD 2 EXCEPT neither the volume nor the Wah pedals work. Have tried researching previous posts but I'm not finding anything useful. Tech support had me go through calibration multiple times but pedals still don't work. Tried swapping cables, still no worky, inspected pins & verified they are not bend, popped the cover off and it is pristine on the inside. Stinks that Line 6 won't give up the tech data. They don't even make the part anymore and it's too expensive to send them off for repair. Does anybody have any useful experience with this? I've done a visual examination of the Main PCB using magnification and don't see any burnt tracts nor parts that overheated. Main PCB is identified as FBX#, Part # 35-00-0090, Rev B, 07.31.2001, but somebody has hand scribed Rev J in marker. Underneath the top of the pedals is a greenish material that protrudes through the metal case but I don't see where that could do anything. Any clues anybody? Does the removable chip have anything to do with it? Did I read somewhere that these things can lose their memory if left unplugged too long? ~H~E~L~P~
TheRealZap
there is no memory in the pedal... its just a controller.... the pedal itself is optical... call any of the authorized service centers to help you locate part info or schematics... they are all independent and MAY help... if you have no interest in paying them to do anything though... you are asking them to help for free... you may find that many of them will be too busy with paid work to help... and they may refuse... be nice, ask nice, and maybe you'll get lucky. i don't know anything about it electronically that would help.... good luck. BillBee
This is not going to help much but the main pcb is probably fine and I would look at the exp pedal board. Been years since I took apart my FBX (for a switch repair) but look and reseat any ribbon cables if no response then I would look into what sensor is being used for pedal movement measurements (optical or mechanical). Never heard of them losing memory after sitting either. Mine sat in a bag for a year and fired up. Found a sort of relevant post. Bad photo sensor (maybe?) http://line6.com/supportarchive/thread/5763/
moetsch123
Hmmm. Just thought of this. Could it be a midi setting in the POD 2.0? I just noticed there are Wah & Volume pedal midi settings, including an off for the Wah and an off for Volume "swell". I'm working on downloading the software to check/test it. That would be pretty bad a** if that's all it is.
moetsch123
Thanks, guys, for your help. Tried to respond to you guys earlier, but I just noticed my message didn't post for some reason. Sorry about that. I'm new here so perhaps I hit the wrong button. It's probably just as well because I just figured out my problem. The pedals work! :D I feel like an idiot, though. I bought the long board used some time back, never really figured out how to use it, assumed the pedals were broken when I couldn't get any response out of them, got busy with other stuff then put it away for a while. I've only just now figured out that it takes a lot of toe pressure to activate the switch. Pretty embarrassing. I did learn, though, that the switch can be turned off via midi. I think I'll go hide under my rock.
