Why use POD CAB sim with DT25

Playing with "DT Edit", I discovered DT25 combo uses CAB by default (picture 1)
If you use L6 link, instead, DT25 disables CAB (picture 2)
Therefore, if you use POD HD by L6 link, I suppose you should activate CAB on POD if you want same sound like DT25 standalone
Is it right ?

that is correct.  If you want the exact same thing as the DT standalone, you should enable the exact same cab and mic configuration.  Of course there is absolutely no requirement to exactly duplicate the standalone settings... use whatever sounds best to you!

Most of the time I prefer no cab and let my physical cab do all the work...  I use the cab and mic sims as EQ presets...

I used to follow the mantra of using the Preamp only models, but honestly I've switched to full models almost exclusively.

They just sound better to me that way and with the 500x I rarely run into dsp problems.
