LTDeth
Hello guys, this will be my first time here, so I apologize if I'm not posting in the right section. I've owned a POD HD 500 for a long time, but I've always used it with an amplifier. So far it's been working perfectly. Today was the first day I tried plugging my guitar through the POD into my PC, and it's been hell. First of all, I've searched the whole internet but couldn't find any straight answer to this: Once I get everything set (drivers, firmware, memory flash updated), and my monitors connected via the "Unbalanced" output of the POD (obvisouly with the POD set as my default playback and recording signal in control panel), is it normal to NOT have sound coming from my computer?????The thing is, I do get guitar signal, but I cannot hear anything coming from the PC (ei, any youtube video, or mp3 song).I've had a couple more problems too, such as getting my guitar signal in mono (I have 2 monitors), and getting the error message "there was an error transferring one or more patches pod hd500" (which I've searched in the internet, and haven't found any real solution) <-- This last thing happened when launching Pod HD 500 Edit, just after having updated everything. So, I want to say that I am really sorry if all these things are just too obvious, but I really need assistance to clear them out. I'd be more than grateful if anyone could help me!Greetings from Argentina
TheRealZap
you have to change the output mode to studio if i recall correctly.
LTDeth
I've already done so. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, that doesn't have to do with my problem. The thing is that I am not having sound coming from the computer at all. I'm really new to this, so perhaps this is completely normal and I am worrying for nothing, lol. Also, I forgot to mention that I am connecting the POD with an USB cable, could that be the problem? (People commonly connect it via the MIDI output if I'm not wrong)Thanks for your response anyway!
TheRealZap
Your computer speakers need to be connected to the pod. It's normal to have no sound if your speakers are connected to your computer.
LTDeth
I've got them connected directly to the "Unbalanced" output, specifically to the Left Mono one. That's why I find it weird that I do get guitar signal, but not from the PC.(To connect the monitors I am using an 1.8"/1.4" adapter). Any other idea of what I could be doing wrong?I really appreciate your time!
TheRealZap
Hook it up to the headphone out.
fflbrgst
If you are running Windows, go into the Sound Device settings and select the Pod as the audio device.
