Are you happy with the modeled compressors?

I checked the effects list and I thought the Helix was a bit light on modeled compressors, thoughts?

I have no complaints about them. I'm liking the sound of the deluxe compressor. The la studio comp is good too. Lots of actual compressor parameters in these as opposed to just level and threshold controls. The red squeeze I think is the same as the red comp from the HD series, and sounds good for adding that little bit of extra sustain on medium/high gain lead tones.

 

I suppose three comps aren't that many, but they work and they work well.

Yeah the LA Studio is the most "trasparent" one so I use that very lightly. The Deluxe has lots of parameters but I find it squashes my tone too much. Placement is very important too. Just like in a real pedal board, I usually go Volume then Compressor then Wah (that can be reversed if you like) then distortion, overdrives then AMP and the after that any time based FX.

I really like the LA Studio. I can do anything I want with it. I use it real lightly as an always on pedal.

I've found all the compressors work well and as expected. They are much better than the HD500X or older POD units both in terms of performance, sound quality, control and flexibility.
