mdmayfield
Something seems to be wrong with the Helix app. I've been saving my setlist in progress, and then after the update to 1.03, I installed the new Helix app, and when I restore the setlist, the names of the patches are there, but they're blank! There seems to be something wrong with the way the Helix app saves setlists. I was suspicious when I saved them and they were only 4KB... a single preset was 11KB, so I should have thought that was fishy. Has anyone else seen this? duncann
A setlist file appears to be a text file with an entry containing encoded data, which would be the actual setlist. So that would account for the small size as compared to a preset file. A preset file is also just a text file. I wouldn't be surprised if some crafty person wrote a third party application to make Helix presets in an offline manner. Not sure about the problem you're having though. I updated everything, did a factory reset, and loaded up a setlist fine.
mdmayfield
Thanks for the reply Duncann. I found out a couple things: - The patches I had saved still had my custom names, but were empty - Some other patches that were still called "New Preset" actually *had* the contents of my custom patches (?!) Also, by examining the contents of the .hlx and .hls files, I can confirm what you mentioned - they're both text, but the .hlx file is uncompressed and the .hls contains compressed data. That would explain the size discrepancy. All seems to be well for now, but I'll probably take some extra care next update. Thanks!
duncann
That's really strange behavior. The only thing I can think of doing is some sort of reset, probably 7 & 8 while powering on, which resets only the setlists to factory. If that doesn't work, maybe try a global reset, 5 & 6. By the way, I remember a post by DI somewhere where he mentioned 'user-facing' globals, which implies globals that the user can't see. So a global reset is well worth doing if you're having some sort of problem. There is some stuff they seem to have fixed. For example, setlists are no longer 'squished' if there are empty presets (New Preset) in between custom ones. They have also allowed multi-selection using the import function for IRs and single presets, which seems to cure some other odd behavior (mainly re-ordering of IRs). Still not sure about using drag and drop with this application - it still seems a little weird. But with the multi-selection, now it's no big deal. BigRalphN
Hmm..I tried multiple iR sel cation and couldn't get it to happen. How did you do it? Shift click?
duncann
Yea. Shift click. First, in the application, select the location where the first IR will be. Then click import. The file selection dialog that pops up is where you use shift-click to select multiple IRs to import.

I thought the latest app/fw update was to fix that. Haven't loaded it yet. The volume pedal issue is really annoying live. Helix sounded great last night but having that snap to level when I touch the pedal is a pita.
BigRalphN
Refresh me on the Volume pedal issue? I will see if mine does it live tomorrow? I generally use one patch Sunday morning with an a orb amp switch but can change ut.

This is preferred for effect parameters I use for exp1 but I use volume on external exp2 so there can be a big jump once I move the pedal. I can seer times I would want it like that, depending on what I have assigned to the pedal. I would think that might need to be in ideascale. Maybe a switchable option. Mine did the same thing, they were not lost but "shifted", my first 4 patches had the names but no effects in them, the rest had effects but were the wrong ones, turns out ALL my presets were moved 4 patches and I had to go back and rename and resave 40 patches.... good luck!
