a_thompson
Hi, we are recording drums for our band tomorrow and we will be using a Helix into my interface for the scratch guitar. My question is do we need to plug the Helix into an instrument input or a line input? Thanks, Anthony.

My question is do we need to plug the Helix into an instrument input or a line input? Thanks, Anthony. Having the Helix's output set to line would give you a better signal to noise ratio, so I'd start there. If you're using the XLR outs, just make sure the input you're plugging into doesn't have phantom power running to it. Unless you have a really nice preamp that you want to use that adds a little bit of magic to the signal, there's not really any benefit to not just using the Helix's preamp to boost the signal to line level before going into your interface.
willjrock
Yep you can use it either way. Just make sure you set the output level on the helix accordingly. (in the global pref)
