musicimpossible
An opportunity just came my way to purchase a JTV69S at a ridiculously low price. One of the reasons it is so priced so low is because the former owner really gouged up the heads of the screws that attach the neck to the body. I guess he was attempting to change the neck. Would anybody know the size of these so that I can order replacements before the guitar gets here? I wrote to Line 6 but have not heard back. I would assume they're not particularly unusual. cruisinon2
The guy's letting it go for a song because the screw heads are a little mangled? In and of itself, that's really not much of an issue, unless he's just an idiot. I'd look that thing over very carefully if I were you, though. There's gotta be something else wrong with it...if he's removed those screws enough times to chew up the heads, he may have stripped the threads inside the holes too, which would be a bigger problem. Also fixable, but a problem nonetheless.
Charlie_Watt
I would remove the screws and take them to a good hardware store like ACE and match them up. There is nothing special about wood screws to attach a neck. Fill the holes with a dowel if you have to.

As I said in the original post as well, the heads were an issue, not the threads.
