pieking1
I just want to make sure i am correct here. Are all the Amp models and FX in the Helix the same as in the POD HD and Firehawk or am i missing something? Thanks in advance :)
DunedinDragon
No. The amps were all specifically modeled in a different manner (HX) as well as were the FX. A lot of the models are there, some aren't, and there are some additional ones not available on the HD. Same with the effects. But functionally everything you would normally have used is there. The architecture of the Helix is such that new amps and effects can be added, and will be from what I understand. Most likely the things you are used to on the HD are there or will be there soon. But the ones that are there far exceed the quality and authenticity of what what on the HD.
duncann
Don't know about Firehawk. There are commonalities between Helix and the HD as far as the real amp or effect the models are made from. But there are some things in Helix that aren't in the HD and there are more things in the HD - filters in particular - that aren't in Helix. The modeling process used is different for each device, but most of the wahs and reverbs were ported to Helix from the HD.
Digital_Igloo
Everything is brand new, from the ground up in Helix except for: Reverbs—same as in HD500X, but rebuilt in HX engine with more nuance and control. Many people think they sound better in Helix 8 of the 10 Wahs—same as in HD500X, but rebuilt in HX engine with more nuance and control Line 6 Epic, Doom, and Elektrik amps—totally rebuilt in HX engine with more nuance and control
