Issue with Program Changes since 2.0 update

Since updating to 2.0, I've noticed that some presets don't sound right at all.. some that should be clean seem to have loads of gain on them.

Been very busy at work for a while now, but today I've had a few more minutes to assess what's up with my presets since the 2.0 update.  I've got about 35 user presets stored that I backed up just before I updated.

I had noticed before that some Multiple footswitch assignments are now showing as "ON" on the LED ring when they should be showing "OFF/DIM" but that's not a major problem - easy to correct.

Looking into it now something very odd is going on with MIDI PC messages.

My H&K amp is connected in 4cm with my Helix.  Helix sends MIDI PC messages to the amp for it to change preset/channel.

It seems that Helix is sometimes sending completely different PC messages to those showing on the "Instant" in Command Center.

For example: I have two Helix presets based on a Clean Channel sound in my H&K amp that is stored on MIDI PC 4.

Both Helix presets are set to send MIDI PC4. (They both only have one snapshot)

One of them seems to turn the amp to PC4 (no easy way to tell.. but it sounds right and is on clean channel as it should be).. the other one makes the amp switch to the Ultra channel.

I've tried chancing the MIDI PC message in the second Helix preset, but it does't seem to make any difference - still it switches to that Ultra channel preset.

I have no idea what actual PC messages Helix is sending (I should try connecting my mac to the Helix MIDI outs to find out)

Anyone else have this problem?  Is it a bug?

If you have the MIDI PC Send/Receive parameter set to on (which I believe the default is after you do a Global Reset), the Helix will send out the PC message associated with the preset you're going to whenever you bring it up.

Ahh! so that would override the MIDI PC message in the Helix Snapshot / Preset ?

Well, it wouldn't necessarily override it, but that PC message is sent out along with anything you have programmed as an instant command. I'm not sure in what sequence they're sent out, but it sounds like in your case, the PC message associated with the preset change is sent out last and is causing your amp to switch channels.

Yes that must be it!  The Helix PC message for each preset must be sent after the snapshot PC message.

I've turned it off and it all works as it used to.. I must have forgot that I'd set that previously - obviously v2.0 erased my settings.
