musiclover7
I feel like am posting a lot in here lately, but what can I say. I have questions, and I am passionate about tone. Anyways, I am wondering what others lean toward for big, vibrant, lush reverb within the helix. Not overprocessed like the cave, just big, clean and warm sounding. Not too much high end reflection. A believable verb. Those words will have to do. Any advice appreciated.
bsd512
Plate with stock settings is pretty lush, but not as lingering as cave.
Dshow
My favorite is the 63 Spring. I set it very subtle so that I can rather feel it than hear it ;-).
musiclover7
I have been using the plate so far myself, which I thought was odd, as it is not usually where I wind up when I am reaching for big, warm sounding reverb. It is in the helix though.
duncann
I end up using the plate as well. Really nice, clear, and balanced sounding. It's enough to add that extra little, or more than a little, dimension to the tone. What's odd for me is I never used this reverb on the HD. I always thought it sounded muddied somehow, and too harsh. I usually went the the hall or chamber on the HD. It's odd because the reverbs in Helix are supposedly the same ones from the HD, only redone with HX modeling.
musiclover7
If you ask me, the Helix could really use 1-2 more ambient verbs. Maybe an arena verb, or just something large and warm. The room verb is to stale, and I can't get the tone I am after with the chamber. Bit too bright and airy. I am getting good results with the plate for now. Just my 2 cents.
musiclover7
A model of the Neunaber Wet pedal would be Awesome!
musiclover7
Or even just add tone parameters on the current verbs so we can darken them up.
duncann
Or even just add tone parameters on the current verbs so we can darken them up. There are low and high cut filters on them.
