kdog420000
I'm new to the forum and am using the Helix with a Mesa JP-2C. I've been looking for info on if you can have CC changes to my amp when using Snapshots? If anyone could point me to a thread if this has been mentioned already that would be great. I haven't come across anything on the forums on my own. Or if it's not possible please let me know. Thanks for all the great info that I have already found in this forum! stephane_dupont
Not sure if I understand your question, but if you mean having CC commands sent each time a snapshot is loaded, yes it's possible via the "Instant Commands" (go to the Command Center). If you have some instant commands shared across snapshots, they won't be send when you change snapshots. But on the contrary, if you have different CC or different values on the same CC depending on the snapshot, these "differences" will be sent. I believe you have to assign the MIDI CC to a footswitch or controller in Command Center to hook it with a Snapshot. The DT25-DT50 Remote preset in the Templates folder is a good example as it sends MIDI CC to the DT amps to change their channels and topology. You can save the on/off status of the MIDI CC configured footswitches in each Snapshot.
stephane_dupont
I believe you have to assign the MIDI CC to a footswitch or controller in Command Center to hook it with a Snapshot. Nope, it works with instant commands too. I use it to automatically change the preset on a M5 per snapshot, it's working nicely.

phil_m
I believe you have to assign the MIDI CC to a footswitch or controller in Command Center to hook it with a Snapshot. A plain MIDI CC doesn't need to be assigned to a footswitch to be sent out as an Instant Command with a snapshot change. A MIDI CC Toggle, on the other hand, does. But that makes sense... I mean, a MIDI CC Toggle doesn't really make any sense apart from being assigned to a footswitch.
kdog420000
I guess maybe its the Control Value port that is throwing me off. here is what I'm working with
phil_m
I guess maybe its the Control Value port that is throwing me off. here is what I'm working with Throwing you off in what way? Any value between those ranges will trigger the various events. The chart is pretty straightforward...
kdog420000
That's what I thought as well but when I tried those Control values and CC#s it didn't seem to work. I'll have to mess with it again tonight. Thanks
roscoe5
Try making sure your MIDI control channels on your Mesa and Helix CC commands are the same.
roscoe5
Oh and good point guys on the Instant Access option. That is essentially assign the MIDI CC to a virtual controller as well. Makes sense. That will help me with the DT50 too :)
kdog420000
Select Snapshot 1, assign #1 to the first instant command (via the command center), and then select snapshot 2 and assign #2 to the FIRST instant command (meaning you have to replace your #1 message in the FIRST instant command). I'm trying to do this but it seems to not be working the way you explained. I set instant command 1 to my CC for clean in snap shot 1 but when I go to snap shot 2 and change instant command 1 to my CC value for Chrunch the CC info for that is now the same info for snap shot 1? I must be missing something here. ðŸ™ðŸ»

I must be missing something here. I understand what's happening now... With CC messages you can change the value of any CC messages per snapshot. So, if you have CC #39 with a value of 0 for snapshot one in the instant command 1 slot, you can change that to a value of 99, or whatever, in snapshot 2. You can't select a different CC# for each snapshot. What you can do, however, is assign a different CC# to another instant command slot. So if you need to send out a value from a different CC for that snapshot, just use the instant command 2 slot. You can leave the one the first slot alone. As long as the value doesn't change between snapshot, it won't send out a message.
