geppert
I am totally out to lunch on the Flextones (I have a DT25 and also a SV 212 MKII). Recently a Flextone 1 (60 watt) has come up for sale. I have no idea if it has any issues or not? I do know that there have been some devotees to the Flextone amps but not sure about the differences between the I / II / and III's, and which one is the "preferred model". If I grab this amp it would only be for the nostalgia of it and as a practice amp. I really love the DT25. So just looking for some comments. I am not sure I really need this but if it is good legacy buy I might jump? The asking price is $60 CDN and since I don't really need it I would offer even less. BillBee
I know this won't help much but I opted to nab a Flex III when it popped up as I think its the only one where you can use the midi/usb cable to use an editor for the tones. The manuals are still up so check them out and see what the Flex I has option-wise. For example there were ~ 3 versions of the Flex IIIs from a 1x12 to a 2x12 to a 1x12 which could power an additional cab. IMO the Flexies can sound pretty sweet. geppert
Thanks BillBee ... I am thinking the Flexi III's are the ones to grab if you can find one? I once bought a Spider I and learned the hard way that the first models are usually not the best buy? The price on this Flexi I is just so attractive. Not sure yet what I am going to do. As I mentioned in my first post, I do remember reading that some folks really like the Flexi's so that's what spurned my interest. I don't really need another amp ... so ... what am I thinking ... lol ???
radatats
I think Flex I = POD 2.0, Flex II = POD XT, Flex III = POD X3 same as the Vetta. I have a Flex I 2X12 and a Flex II head. I only got them to use with my Helix and they are fabulous for that. Straight in to the FX return in stereo. As far as using them by them selves? Not unless I absolutely had to... BillBee
Thanks BillBee ...<snip> I don't really need another amp ... so ... what am I thinking ... lol ??? Haa haaaa I know what you are saying. The Pod 2.0s still sound really good and it would make for a nice jam night amp. -Bill
jbsmooth
Hello friends I have the Flextone I 60 watt model. I've owned this one for a couple of years and has worked with no issues until recently. When I switch from manual to one of the banks it distorts on all the banks. If I play it on manual it works fine it's only when I try to access the banks either manually or with or the FB4 pedal. The save light stays on. Has anybody else experienced this problem and what can be done to solve it. Thanks in advance
